1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you keep your doll in his/her box at night?

Nov 27, 2011

    1. I used to cover my dolls every night. xD The whole "I can't see you so you can't see me!" After a while I got lazy and just got used to them just hanging out and watching over me. I consider them like little guardian angels (even my biggest doll). I even gave them "wings" (well wing tattoos, close enough right?).

    2. Yes she sleeps in her box. I think that keeps her secure and free from dust/dirt.:)

    3. Mine don't.
      My girlfriend's one does.
She says she wants to ensure her little one is protected.
I say let my children run wild and free.
Any damage they might take (so far none, thankfully) only adds to their character and uniqueness.

    4. Yes mine stay in their boxes and I take them out when I want to. That way they don't get dirty or because of my mom smoking in the house, they don't smell like smoke.

    5. I personally do not, I like to have them displayed (away from direct sunlight, of course), but I have nothing against anyone who wants to put their dolls in their boxes at night. To each his own!

    6. i place them on my night stand, in the corner, where i display my other dolls.
i don't have problems with sunlight 'cause my room barely experiences it.

    7. Always in their boxes or pillows in my doll closet. Too much money and too hard to get to leave laying about.

    8. He sits in his room, sometimes laying down for days covered with a blanket my mom made him or he sits up with a stuffed animal in his arms for days before I lay him down. But no, he's not in his box.

    9. I leave the boxes open on the far side of my bed so I can pick them up whenever. They mostly get put back at night out of convenience. I like having them within such easy reach when I get inspired or just want to sit with them.

Right now, they're mostly all taken apart :sweat

    10. Since I have 4 pets I keep my doll in her box whenever I'm not around her. I'm too scared that one of my cats will knock her off the self when I'm not home. I also I don't want her to be in direct sunlight for long periods of time, since I'm super paranoid of her yellowing. >.<

I think it would hypocritical for me to say I had a problem with people who keep their dollies in their boxes, so no, I don't have a problem with other people doing so. :)

    11. I also try to keep them in their boxes at night because of my cat and dog. They are especially obsessed with mohair/wool wigs, and I've caught them with doll hands in their mouths. Fortunately, I haven't seen any teeth marks yet.

    12. Most of mine sleep in their boxes. Uh... sadly, I have one (my Soom Zinc) that I still need to put together, so he is always in his box >< Poor dolly. I have a lot of unfinished dolls.

    13. My girl is always next to me on my night table. She is sitting there because I love seeing her face before sleeping. At the beginning, I used to put her in her box but I missed her. However I have nothing against people who put their dolls in their boxes at night. If I was afraid of doll at night I would do the same.

    14. No. My dolls sit on a shelf and look on me

    15. My girls are always watching over me, I like to keep them close :) I only store them in their boxes or travelbags when I'm out with them, for safekeeping

    16. Nope nope :D I let my doll outside in the night and almost every day. Only when I'll go out for long period (more than 2 days), then I'll keep them in their box to protect them from dust in the air.

    17. My kids all sit out and around my craft room/guest room, I go in there everyday and pose them or look at them. My cats have never so much as even looked at them or cared they were there and the bigger reason is I'm desensitizing my husband. When he first found out I was an adult who was still playing with dolls he made fun of me and made not so nice remarks, now however he will say things like "oh I bet this color eyes or hair would look neat on those" so I know it's working. Also he actually got a bit excited when my last kid arrived and kept asking me why I hadn't ripped into the box before the mailman left and kept checking my progress as I was opening. LOL It seems to work!

    18. It depends, sometimes she is in her box for several days because I don't have time to play with her or I need the space on my table for books and stuff (I don't have much space) and sometimes she just sits on my table and watches me or I play with her. But when I go into bed, she has to as well in her box. Just feels right...and she won't do something stupid (like falling down and ruining something)... V.V

    19. Night being the one time my dolls are safe from the malignant sun and its killer UV rays, it makes the most sense to have them out during this time.

And yeah I just give them the run of the house at night. Who knows what they get up to.

    20. i have way to many dolls to box them all up every night! mine are displayed in various rooms of the house and stay wherever they happen to be last as long as that is a reasonably secure place, and the boxes are all stored away on shelves in the basement. but if someone is disciplined enough to put theirs away every night, more power to them!
