Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you keep your doll in his/her box at night?

Nov 27, 2011

    1. It is wonderful, that despite your fears you collect dolls, Oceana ! I don't mind if someone puts a doll into a box at night for any reason. I don't though. I don't feel uncomfortable with my dolls sitting in their display. But if one has some fears or uncomfortable feelings or pets or something - it's fine to put a doll into a box, I think.

    2. Since I lack pets at the moment I keep my dolls out and about. If I ever got a cat again though they would be put up all the time or behind a locked door.

There is a shelf right above my desk in my bedroom and they sit there while I'm working. I really love them a bunch.

    3. My doll sleeps all day and night in a msd size wicker arm chair. Its right next to my sewing machine away from the sun. But my incoming littlefee is going to have a loft style bunk-bed when she comes.

    4. Yh, yeah, I keep him in a box ._. It's not because I'm afraid of nightmares, though. It's just safer. As some people've said already, I'm afraid my dog would do something to the doll while I'm asleep D:

    5. If I'm visiting somewhere, I keep my doll in his box. But other than that, he has a bed, so I just put him in it for the night. (Lame, I know) I have nothing against people who keep their dolls in their box.

    6. I don't have my dolls in my room when I sleep because I feel uncomfortable. But they sit by my computer in my work room. :)

    7. I like this topic when I was really little my mum collected dolls and for about 2 years I had nightmares of them killing me so I don't like dolls but to me bjd's are different I can sleep at night with them out as long as I can see them but they are a sense of security for me :) so no I don't store my dolls at night :)

    8. I think its interesting to hear that. all my friends who are not into that hobby say that my dolls are so scary. but i dont think so. Normally i keep them ot at night on my table or in their cupboard. sometimes eaven in my bed :3

    9. My boy usually stays on my desk but I'm currently making him a little room. (mainly because I need a place to keep all of his stuff haha)

    10. My dolls sleep on a special shelf just for them. I love being able to see them at anytime!

    11. I never put my dolls in their boxes because I like to look at them ^^ I can understand why some people would but I don't :3

    12. It depends on my laziness (lol).
Most of the time I leave my dolls inside my
wardrobe, but sometimes I just let them sitting on my
vanity. I love to wake up the other day and look at them.

      Of course not!!
Fears are things never to be criticized. I am scared of clowns, puppets and rolling down a stair. I'd never judge someone for
      their fears.
      :'(

    13. I usually keep my dolls outside, unless I feel like I'm going to be too busy to look after them for a while. Then they're boxed so the dust doesn't fall on them :)

    14. Nope my girl sits on the mantle in my living room. Its one of the few places that the cats can't get to her aha.

    15. I am lucky, since being in hobby I have had a room just for the dolls & their stuff. So that means I can set them out in chairs, on couches or even on laps of others. But the room also has to accommodate the props, and my sewing stuff too.

    16. Yes, they always sleep inside the box or at least inside the pillows. I believe terribles things can happen if I left my dolls outside

    17. I converted the top two shelves of a bookcase into rooms for one of my OT dolls, and the Pukifees and PukiPukis hang out there as well when I'm not playing with them. Azalea has a spot on my bureau and Fawn sits on my bed during the day and has a spot in a chair at night. I like to see them even if I'm not interacting with them.

There's nothing wrong with putting them in boxes at night - they're probably better off than mine are on the shelf. Everyone has their own comfort level. Dolls don't bother me, but clowns - that's another story.

    18. Oh, no....it would be heaps of trouble trying to get everyone into their boxes and I would be so sad not being able to see them smiling at me when I wake up. I do love their boxes, though, and keep them tidily stacked on top of each other in a closet. My dollies live in an American 1920's cabinet, but at some point, I do hope to upgrade their cabinet to a French 1800's one.

    19. I keep my dollies in a basket in my room because I do like to have them out. Someday, I'd like to get a glass cabinet for them in my office. But I don't put them where they can stare at me when I wake up! That would be a little too disconcerting for me! ^^;; BJD boxes are lovely, though, and I can definitely see why someone would want to store their dolls in their boxes. It seems like it'd be a very safe option too, since it would keep the sun away from their delicate resin!

    20. You too? I'm sure most people who are not into the hobby might think they are creepy. Mine all sit on my nightstand beside my bed, so when anyone comes over to the house they ask me how I sleep with a creepy doll (they only see my sd) I had mine in a box for 4 years.... so now I feel bad about putting her in one. Unless i'm on vacation I will box her for security reasons. I'm afraid of the dark too :o but I think of her as my protector. She does carry a sword...
