1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you keep your doll in his/her box at night?

Nov 27, 2011

    1. No, never. They sit right next to my bed. I only put them back into their boxes when we are travelling. I don't think they can breathe in there so I try to free them again ASAP :)

    2. My roommate likes to keep her dolls out of their box because she likes the idea of them protecting her while she sleeps c:

I'm thinking of doing the same but idk, the box seems to be the safest place honestly

    3. Right now they stay in their box most of the time. I take them out at night when everyone's asleep but that's it. I've left them out sitting on my bookshelf with my transformer Kreos one night but that's it. too afraid I might forget to put them away before I go to work and someone will find them, or my cat will get curious and knock them on the floor.

    4. :)

Some stay in their box others are released. I am not sure when I make the decision- it isnt as I receive them, perhaps more when I have decided who they are and which part of my space they want to live in. I have so many in boxes and I can't wait for their time to come to show themselves off. It keeps it special!!

    5. No they sit with each other in the glass box :3
Only the ones who going to be sold or "feelers" are in their boxes D:
      The glass box is near my bed and it's kinda creepy sometimes when they dolls heads are looking at you ;-;

    6. I haven't gotten any dolls yet, but I've cleared a space for them to live on one of my shelves, so no boxes for them.

    7. I'm wayyyy too lazy to put up all my dolls every day, & if I kept them in their boxes all the time I'd never see them. So my dolls are on display thruout my house. I've got sunproofed window curtains & none stay IN the sun. It makes it easier to motivate myself to make clothes for them or to dress them differently & take pics. Plus, I pay THIS much money I want to SEE them.

    8. I keep them out so I can see them, I don't play with them everyday but I still like to look at them. They add a nice creepy cute quality to my room, that I like, when they're displayed. They look nice with my taxidermy and general antiques, haha. They're part of the decor.

I don't see much point in keeping them in boxes honestly, I couldn't enjoy them like that. The only logical reason seems to be yellowing, but I cover them when the curtains are open for long periods of time, and honestly I don't really care as much about yellowing as a lot of people.

Even when I only had one or two I never boxed them away at night, so it's not a case of I-would-if-I-could.
It seems more logical to box them in the day when you're out, and unbox them at night when you're home and there's no fear of yellowing, anyway.

    9. I used to keep them in their boxes at night but I no longer do that!I keep my dolls out at night. In fact, they stand right next to where I sleep.

    10. I have more dolls than I have boxes so they usually lay in a box without a lid at night. I'm not bothered by a doll sleeping out or staring at me while I sleep.

    11. I know people that have their dolls almost always in ther boxes, and as I don't have anything against them, I really can't... My doll has neves been in her box since I got her, but just because I like to see her , I don't know what will I do in the future :3

    12. I used to keep some of them in their boxes because I didn't have space but I just got a wonderful furniture to display all my dolls, MSDs, SDs etc :) it feels so good to come in my room and see all my dolls there, no more boxes for anyone! I will keep them in case I move out.

    13. I'm the opposite my doll will sit on her chair next to my bed at night. I have problems sleeping so I don't sleep much of the night and just kinda lie there awake enough to think but too tired to get up. Looking at her really helps me stave off the boredom and to bond with her in a way, I'm always adding to her personality and backstory figuring out likes and dislikes so this is an ideal time to do it. In the morning she goes back on her shelf so she's not in the sun light.

    14. I'm not afraid of dolls and if they were soft, I probably would hold them at night...pillows are softer.

    15. I put my dolls next to my bed on the bedside table at night, or rather the whole time. My room is well shaded and I have day curtains to prevent sunlight from coming in.

The reason I love my dolls is cos I really like looking at them, their faces, their clothes etc. So it wouldn't justify for me to keep them in their boxes at night and bring them out the next day and repeat the same process on a daily basis. I don't have a lot of dolls, but I guess I'm just plain lazy to do that?

I have absolutely no problems with people wanting to keep them back into their boxes every night, it could protect the dolls and so on, but I am just not that discipline to do so.

    16. Mine are all left out overnight. They are not in the same room that I sleep in though.

    17. i don't keep any of my dolls in their boxes at night...the last time any of them were in their boxes was because i was painting my room...they don't seem to like being in their boxes cause it's dark and claustrophobic...

    18. although I was always scared of dolls (before I discovered BJDs) I would love to leave my girl out at night.
But every night she goes back into her box because I'm terrified that my cat will do something to her while I'm asleep.

    19. Yes. I put my MSD size doll in her box because I have 5 cats. I like to keep my bedroom door open and so the cats come in my room. I put her in her box to protect her but I keep her out when my door is closed.

    20. I keep my dolls in my closet ^_^. I've actually thought about making them little beds haha. Maybe they can have their own shelf in there or something. Right now one of my dolls is on top of my printer and the others are surrounding my desktop monitor :D. But I feel you, it can be scary to look at them at night. I will usually keep my dolls out of sight when I am sleeping.
