1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you make clothes for your doll?

Sep 17, 2010

    1. I would really like to make some clothes for my girl, but until now I had only time to make a scarf for her. :sweat I do have some experience in sewing though. I cosplay a lot, and I would really like to do some cosplays for her as well. I did some work on accesoires though. She has now a matching hairstyle with my cosplay for coming saterday. :D

    2. Only by myself - sewing, knitting, crocheting, jewelry, wigs... that's what I do now - and if I can: shoes too. It's really exciting!!!

    3. I actually just finished a shirt for one of my AOD's. It was my second time making clothing for a doll. I'm not the best at it, but I am learning. I actually was really happy with how it came out, although I'm having a really hard time finding buckles for him!!! X_X; lol

    4. I've been trying to look up different patterns and such, seeing as some clothing is MORE expensive then my own :doh.

    5. I have no money to buy the clothes I want online, but my mother has closets full of materials of all kinds, so she's been teaching me to sew.
This is the first and most recent outfit I have made

I'm a bit of a wanna-be-master-of-the-arts and want to be able to do everything that's customizable for BJDs . . . So far, only successful with the clothing. Hahaha

But hey, in my opinion, determination is just as, if not more, important than talent.

    6. I'd really love to make clothes for my dolls! There are lots of things I would love for them to wear but aren't available to buy, and I feel that being able to sew well would be a wonderful skill for me to have. Unfortunately, my sewing experience doesn't go any farther than knowing how to operate my sewing machine and a few basic hand stitches. :\ Ah, I'm going to have to try and find a good starting point for a novice like me.

    7. So far, I've just been sewing his clothes, but I plan to buy a couple of outfits online.
      Shoes, I always buy online. I can't make those. ^^;

    8. Princey, making shoes isn't as difficult as you might think - I've made a tutorial showing how to make doll shoes.

    9. I sew for my dolls, I am still learning and still practicing, since I am teaching myself how.
I do enjoy seeing the progress of my first doll dress/shirt to what I make now and yes it can be a slow
process, but it saves alot of money and it can be a bonding experience for you and your doll :)

    10. I love to make things such as clothing and hats. <3 However I buy a lot of clothing online as well. :sweat

    11. I almost exclusively sew for my dolls. It's not so much about money, although there is that too, I think it is really that I see something I think is cool and know that I can make it and possibly in a color or fabric that I like better. I also only hand sew and it gives me something to do while I watch movies or listen to music so that my hands are busy. I like nothing better than settling down to watch a season of house with a container of fabric :D

    12. I like to make crochet outfits for my RealPukis... Love choosing the thin yarn colors and plan the looks and adding cute details such as mini buttons etc... Its addictive! ;)
For my other ( bigger ) BJDs I prefer to buy from Dollmore.

    13. I try to, but not very well. but i bet if i practice, my clothes will get better :)

      ...

      I hope...

    14. I do clothes for my ladies too. I don't have money for do shopping for my dolls ^^" .
My oufits doesn't very pretty but I started to do it very late ^^'

    15. - -I wish i can but i never sew because i don't know how to make wear Drafiting .

    16. I make almost all my doll clothes. Sometimes I see something I really like, I buy it and use for a pattern and then make other things using the same idea.

    17. Like some others here, I cosplay a lot and of course I want to make some cosplays for my boy to. And I'm going to sew him some clothes, not all, that would be too much. The first thing I'm going to make for him will be a black kimono with some flowers on it...<3

    18. I have done medieval dresses for myself but somehow making clothes for my dollies seems so much harder. So I am planning on doing something nice for them, but I am afraid that I won't be good enough. I am always very jealous of people who make such beautiful things to their dollies, but luckily most of them like to sell clothes they make. So I can buy them for my dollies :D But in the future I will deffinately try making the clothes by myself.

    19. I do sew SOME clothes for my doll...but they don't turn out that well and I prefer buying clothes (though that can get really expensive.
But sewing is fun and I love doing it, even if I'm not satisfied with the results.

    20. Almost all of my doll's clothes are handmade. Either by me or gifts from friends. I ordered him a few things from DollMore when I first got him and I was still learning to make clothes for him and wanted him to have a few things that looked nice in the mean time. Now he has a big cookie tin full of clothes. And I have 2 new dolls on the way that aren't his size so I'm going to need to start a new tin when they arrive.
