1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you make clothes for your doll?

Sep 17, 2010

    1. Well now i do. Wanted my boy to have army fatigues and wanted to do it myself...it took 3 days but they came out great!!!! I got pockets and a belt on it so I am proud of it! Just need to make a jacket and a shirt and he gonna be an army brat=) prob put up a vid on youtube today about it.... if i have any ideas later i probably make those too....

    2. Yes, I have made all of the outfits for my dolls so far. I like to know that I'm getting the exact product I want. It also feels good to know that you made the clothes yourself.

Plus, like a lot of people are saying, the clothes are expensive...

    3. I love making clothes for my dolls, I'm just terribly slow at it sometimes and my littlest one almost requires a microscope. In particular I'd like to make a nice jacket for my boy with the ruffle front shirt...he's been waiting for it for two years.

I also plan to try making shoes. Let's see how long THAT takes.

    4. I would love to...but I don't know how :( any tips or helpful links for people like me? :)

    5. yup..i made my doll's clothes..clothes are expensive..:D but patience is a must..doll's clothes are harder to sew than human's clothes..

    6. I have lots of plans to make lots of clothing for my boys but so far I have only finished an apron for my Soren :)

    7. Of course I buy some things for my guys, by the majority of their clothes are made by me:) it's real pleasure for me to spend some time sewing their new outfits)

    8. I agree, it's really harder...once I spent about 4,5 hours sewing leather pants for my SSD boy*_* but people enjoyed the result, so I'm proud:)

    9. you're welcome to ask for advice ;)

    10. My brother is going to college, and with me on the way, we can't afford pricey doll clothes.. so yes, I make them XDD

    11. I'd love to start making my own doll clothes :) Unfortunately I'm an impatient hand-sewer and sewing machines are scary, complicated beings that love to mangle your carefully cut fabric and punch their needles through your fingers...

    12. Well my boy just got home, and so far all the clothes he has I've made myself. (That's jeans and 3 dresses)
He also has shoes, black sneakers, so I admit I did buy those haha : )
But I think that it's oky to both buy and make them yourself, if there's something you like you buy it and if there's something you want that isn't for sale, you make it ^^

    13. Yesh...online clothes are a bit expensive...I mean I know they are handmade and very delicate (in terms of patterns and designs etc) but it cost more to buy myself a simple dress in a store makes me feel very guilty. But me and my mom are going to make some dresses for my doll this whole summer..it's gonna be fun xD.

    14. That was one of the main reasons I got my doll. I love sewing ... and I'm getting to the point where all of my outfits look too young to wear. So this was the perfect solution. :3 I can't wait to start making clothes for her! ^_^!!!!

    15. I would make clothes if i had the ability to :) but for now, no... In the future i hope that i can get better and start making my own doll clothes

    16. Well I try to make clothes for them rather than buy them...I'm not very good but my mom helps alot!!!

    17. I planned to make all their clothes initially because I love sewing and have so many lovely fabric remnants and iseas, but because I have so little free time these days, I've wound up buying a lot of clothes, just so the poor souls aren't all Nekkid. I will get on with making things as soon as I have some time though :)

    18. I just make him a pair of Jean the other day. It is really expensive to buy his stuff online .

    19. yes, i make clothes for them..doll clothes are expensive..more expensive than human clothes..:D

    20. I'm always sewing for my dolls. Now that I've really got the characters down I am just so insanely picky. And considering almost all of them either wear a fashion that no one makes or they're just such a strange size, I cannot buy anything. I even have to make their shoes!
