It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you make clothes for your doll?

Sep 17, 2010

    1. Definitely! That's one of the major reasons why I'm getting a BJD.
I love making my own clothes already, I think it'll be more fun to make clothes for a little doll. Takes less fabric, less time (except for like facing and linings x_x). and you can make 20 pieces with the fabric used to make 1 life-size piece.
Plus, I've sworn not to buy expensive doll clothes, I'm already going broke just getting into BJDS!

    2. I do love making the clothes. The dress was easy to modify, but the jeans had to go. Denim on that small a scale just doesn't work without creating a lot of bulk.

In fact, my dress fits better than the outfit I bought from Fairyland! They made the top way too big and bulky. When I get better at sewing I'll modify it, but for right now her wardrobe is so minimal I don't dare risk ruining it.

    3. All the time.. I do mess up more than I should, and he only has two completed outifts.. Nor are mine as detailed as a company's is.. But it works XDD

Self-sewing for your dolls kind of gives you more options to experiment with. I'm hoping on getting a LOT better, so I can make epic clothes for half the price<3

    4. I love to sew, knit and crochet so having bjd's is great. I also make clothes for OT dolls too. I have so many ideas and not enough time to make them all.

    5. I make my own clothes :) it helps me learn how to sew although most of the clothes I make end up as horrible fails, but I think my doll is happy I'm trying XD

    6. I once tried and it was terrible. I'd love to have the patience to do it and to take part in swaps but it just isn't one of my strong points :(

    7. Yep, can't afford any pre made clothes for her so I'm making everything from scratch, its an interesting experience to say the least!

    8. I love sewing for my dolls, it is part of the hobby for me. I know that the BJD hobby is not synonymous with knowing how to sew, or being able to produce a photograph, but being able to create something for my dolls has got more more involved/obsessed >.> with them and vice versa.

    9. i love sewing clothes for my dollies. it is very theraputic and i can take pride in the fact that I made it myself and that it is one of a kind. also ontop of clothing I make then chainmail and scale mail armor.

    10. For now I kind of has to... I'm not very good at it yet tough and I sadly don't think it's very fun. I prefer to just cut the fabric and then sew without making any pattern but I think I will have to make a couple of patterns sooner or later. :sweat

    11. No, I don't. I am terrible at sewing, but I would like to try.

    12. Once, for a cosplay for Ciel. it was actually really fun, i wanna do it again. ^^

    13. I make almost all of my doll's clothes. :) I started with pleated skirts then gradually improved. Whatever I don't make is either shoes, vintage doll clothes my mom gave me, or stuff I buy from the meetup dollar box. I like sewing because I can make clothes that I would wear but scaled down. :D

    14. I will make clothes for my doll. I just need time and some patterns. :)

    15. I'm planing on it and one of my friends already does, but I'm a kinda quality snob, so I don't think my own creations would be up to par with my expectations.

    16. It gives me something to do other than sit in front of the computer or TV. I just sewed a pair of pants for my doll this afternoon!

    17. Yes I love to sew, though I'm not very good at it, and I will only do it if I wake up that morning and "feel" like sewing n___n;; I find it easy to get frustrated with, especially since I can never find patterns. DX
I can't afford many clothes though, so sewing is a must.

    18. I want to try but I just never got around to getting my lazy bum to the fabric store ><

    19. I'm planning on learning how to. Right now, I've only made a shirt, which kinda looked good, and a pair of pants.

    20. i don't,but want to study.
