1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you make clothes for your doll?

Sep 17, 2010

    1. I buy the fabrics I want and if I cant make it myself (or dont have the patience) I get my mother to make it. Sometimes I will buy something and modify it to how I want instead of making it. I do own alot more made clothes by myself than company clothes which I have always aimed for :)
I find it so easy to make skirts and t shirts, and pretty vest type tops for girl dolls. Tried to make trousers once...never again! I have made a complete shirt. Think its best sometimes to have 'breaks' if youre making something complicated, as I try to rush what Im making for my dolls! Oddly if I make something for a friend I have loads of patience and take my time.

    2. Most of my doll's clothes are my own creations. I'm still getting the hang of it, but I can do elastic-waist pants pretty well, and he has a shirt and a vest. Most of the time he wears his store bought pants, though.

    3. i make the bulk of my dolls clothes and draft my own patterns .. from pukipuki through to MSD sized

lately i have been working on steam punk styled outfits and corsets for my MSD girl

    4. Yes I created a couture collection for all my msd

    5. I prefer to. ^^ I think it's fun to do, and you get to make the clothing exactly how you want. ^^

Sometimes I am too lazy to though. *_*

    6. I've made a couple of shirts for my doll. It's been a while since I've actually sewn something so they haven't come out really good >.>
My dog ate the pedal for my sewing machine so I have to sew stuff by hand lol

    7. I'm CONSTANTLY sewing for dolls. ^_^;; As a result I think their wardrobe is currently bigger than my own. It's lots of fun designing, patterning and making exactly what I want for my boys. And I find handsewing to be relaxing.

I've only bought one outfit for my dolls so far.

    8. The majority of the reason I want to get a BJD is to make clothes for her. ^__^

    9. i never bought clothes for my two boys. everything they have is selfmade ^^
tooru has more trousers than me XD okay that's not difficult i have only three =P
i have to do lot more things for my second boy akira, because his hips are smaller than toorus and his legs longer...so toorus trousers don't fit @@
the shirts belong to both ^^

somehow i am addicted to sewing kimonos. i am always sewing them. mine have three kimonos ^-^ and the rest i have made were for friends...this weekend i am going to make another three XDDDDDD

    10. yes, sometimes I make clothes for my dolls... but this year I have no enough time for it... perhaps next year I can do it again... :)

    11. Yup. I kind of have to. My girl is VERY curvy for a 60cm, so there's very little out there that'll fit, and what little will very frequently is too casual and skimpy to suit her style. Ergo, I had to learn to sew. Or rather, I'm still learning; I kind of ended up jumping in with both feet on that account and have started making my own patterns via draping, since pretty much no patterns fit her either. It's been. . . interesting! Heh. I know I've got a long way to go, too, but at least my girl won't have to feel like a tramp while I improve.

    12. I have made all my clothes for mine, that was the agreement if my husband bought me the dolls, that I would have to make the clothes and such. I dont mind it, because I used make clothes for barbies when i was younger. Any clothes I havent made were sent with the dolls themselves since they were both secondhand. I almost prefer it because I have a lot of clothes that i wanna make that arent available anywhere else.

    13. I most certainly do... I have only recently gone and made my first doll clothes purchase for my Caitlin. Poor thing has been victim to my fasion design/tailoring skills from the first day I saw her! I'm sure I'll buy a few more things in the future, but I thoroughly enjoy making stuff for her. I love sewing, so I can't see handmade clothes stopping anytime soon :)

    14. I try to make my own clothes...but so far it's been a fail. AHA I sew and then end up buying because I don't like what I made. But I'll keep trying until it looks really nice.

    15. I make all of my dolls' clothes using patterns from the Internet or patterns made for humans that I've scaled down to size. I've actually never bought clothes (aside from shoes and socks) from a company before!

    16. I try sewing, but unfortunately, I suck. When I used to do textiles at school my last project got a "U" for unmarked AHAHAHAAA :]

    17. I wish I could but I am totally untalented when it comes to sewing! I had to sew in school and it was terrible >.<

    18. I'm really bad, too! I tried to make my boy a shirt and...well, let's just say that ended in complete disaster! I usually go with talented seamstresses, since many of them seem to be kinder on my wallet then most of the sites I've been to.

    19. The only thing I've managed to make that's decent are pajama pants and socks... :sweat trying to make shirts next..
