Do you prefer Child or Adult Dolls? Why?

I tend to prefer younger dolls, or dolls who are young adolescents? A few years back I would say it's because I relate better to that age group, but now I think it's because they're so innocent/pure and cute looking!! Some of the very mature and large dolls kind of intimidate me? They're not scary to look at but it feels like they'd boss me around, haha~

 

I like the childish dolls the most. So many cute outfits you can dress them in.

 

I actually don't like the child dolls, for me its all about the adult. Size doesn't matter but they must look mature. I agree with comments about the younger dolls I would tend to think of them as well ....... dolls?!

 

I prefer the child or adolescent dolls. I don't know why, I just think they're cuter, I like the style/faces better. Maybe it's because I also collect other types of dolls (like antique dolls, LDDs, LADs etc) and they tend to be fashioned after children, so that's what I'm used to seeing more.

 

i like young adult dolls, cause they reach my age, they are not too young but even not too mature, i really like their faces and i think that they are really photogenic! *^*

 

I used to think that I only want 70cm large dolls. But then now I started to want a YoSD too! and many more dolls in my wishlist.....

 

Adult dolls for me because you can make them wear childish clothes but still dress them in sexy clothing like lingerie or something like that. Sorry if this confusing anyone, I'm tired hahaha.

Honestly, I prefer younger/childish looking dolls. I only own one SD. I bought her because she was the first BJD I'd ever seen, and she was always my "grail" doll. But she has a young face, so her size doesn't bother me as much (Even though I don't particularly care for the SD size.)

Personally, I do not like to own dolls that look like grown adults. But I do think they are beautiful, and I like looking at other people's adult dolls. Take for instance SOOM Super gems. I don't feel the want to own any of them, because they all look like they are older. Even if I think they are beautiful, I can't see myself having them... I'll take a little kid or adolescent doll any day over an adult. It has no bearing on my real life, either, because most of the people I interact with are a lot older than me.

edit; To elaborate: I'm not sure why I prefer younger looking dolls. I mean, it's all about the faces for me. I don't mind having a full figure on an MSD doll, as long as the face looks younger. I don't care what the body looks like, but if the face is an adult, it's almost an automatic NOPE for me.

 

When it comes to owning dolls, I prefer younger/immature MSDs. I'm a sucker for cute/frilly and for whatever reason I find full-breasted dolls to be a turn-off as potential purchases. Probably because I love cuter rounder childlike features and a more mature body doesn't quite match up in my mind.

 

I prefer adult looking dolls. But I'm in love with bluefairy tiny dolls. They are just too cute.

 

I don't like having children dolls unless I have parents for them. Is that weird?

 

You are the parent!! Hahaha. At least I feel that way .. I feel that the doll is my girl. So I treat her very well I only have interest in children looking dolls because of that! Can't stand the thought of keeping children who look too old or even older than I am.

 

I prefer adult dolls, since nearly all characters i have in mind are adults.
Ok... and i don't like kids that much...

 

In my case, I think I like younger dolls, because I'm a younger person. Being a teenager, I think it would be weird to have a doll that looked older than me, you know? Though I'm new to the hobby and may very well get a more mature looking doll in the future.

 

I never really thought about this much but I think I like the more adult dolls best. That being said, I do also enjoy my YoSD sized dolls and love the tinies which are usually childlike. The more mature looking dolls are more fun to dress as they can wear casual to evening clothing. Also they can have much more dramatic faceups and hair styles.

 

All in all, I still prefer the adult dolls... but there's definitely something appealing about the little Yo-scale dolls. I do love my "chibis".

 

I enjoy the teenage dolls the best. It seems that there is much more, fashion-wise, that I can get away with for them hehe. It might also be because of my age and I don't really want a doll that looks cartoonish nor do I want one that is too realistic, I find the majority of what I want is in the teenage age range. I wouldn't mind getting a younger doll but in my opinion younger dolls are really only tween or preteen age... ^.~

 

I really like the childish sculpts, those that are common amongst most yosd dolls.
Usually, the older they get, the taller they get and then I get scared becuase Im afraid I'm going to break them. @_@
Although, most of my characters are 19-27 ish, I like the idea of them just being Chibi versions.

 

I prefer adult dolls, but I have nothing against children - dolls, it is just a preference.
