Do you prefer Child or Adult Dolls? Why?

Being a fan of the whole bishounen thing for many years already, I totally prefer adult (or at least adolescent) looking dolls. Even as a child, I never found any interested in the classical baby doll and even though my sis had a huge Barbie House with various dolls and accesories to play with, I neither became a huge fan of Barie (though I do admire her "career").

 

All of the dolls I currently own fit into their back story -- one story for the 7. So there are SD size, MSD size, and a tiny. However, I find myself most drawn to the adult looking dolls, after all, I have lots and lots of childlike O.T. dolls.

That said, I think another would be a tiny, baby-like doll.

 

I don't imagine any of my dolls being that old. Any dolls with too large of breasts or too mature of a look have moved on. But then, I don't have super-young looking dolls either. They all fall in the middle...somewhere.

 

For me it depends on who I'm modeling them after. I'm a writer and I often use dolls to visualize my characters. I often set up "Childlike" versions of them, like a Cho for the adult and a Pyrol for the child. But in all fairness, I do prefer child bodies because I like to be around the adorable ones more. When I'm around serious adult dolls, I feel like I have to be serious as well. Is that just me?

 

I prefer the child dolls, they're more fun to dress and make clothes for. I mean the older ones look great in pictures, but there so seriouse looking(to me any way). I tend to like the 8 to 16 look.

 

adult bjd , I do not really know why, but I always preferred adult dolls , it's like for barbies, I did not like shelly! lol

 

I like both kinds of dolls, as they have different creative possibilities. I even plan to have a several dolls that represent Raoul's children (clones) at the different age. I already have a toddler (Cookie), so it would be great to have a 27 cm tiny, MSD and SD dolls.

 

I like adults. The clothes are bigger and can put more detail into them I think.

 

I prefer teenage to adult dolls because I like the more mature look. They are more attractive in my opinion and I feel like I can create a more interesting personality for them, something deeper than a carefree child. I know this is not necessarily true and that children can have deep personalities, it's just been my preference throughout life as others have mentioned.

 

older ones, like some others have also mentioned, I get a bit creeped out by a bunch of child dolls in a room, whereas the older ones just remind me of figuring and charactors from animates

 

I always like the small dolls (yo sd size) but since I start to have teen size doll, I fall in love with them too and start to like more than smaller size now. It's more fun to shopping the clothes for them. :-)

 

I prefer dolls teens, are more fun for me to build character and sew clothes, I think some wonderful adults, especially the bodies of some houses, but never imagine them in my house.

I prefer teenage-adult dolls than the small children dolls. One: I'll end up losing the small ones.
Two: I would have more fun dressing the older ones up and fitting them into my story. :3
Of course, that doesn't mean buying one or two of the child dolls is out of the option...

 

I prefer the teen dolls, because they always seem more mature than the child ones, but they don't have the muscles that the adults usually have *shot*

That being said, I do own a child doll, and I wouldn't be against buying a tiny, or an adult...

 

I prefer child/teen dolls because I like children. I mean like they are really cute, big eyes, puffy cheeks, cute clothes, etc. Those what attract me to child/teen dolls. C: I like adult dolls too but my like is not enough for me to actually own one. Maybe I just like seeing them. :C

 

i prefer more child-like dolls i think it is because i have children myself, and i love sewing clothes for children. i find it harder to sew for adult dolls because my style is very little-girlish.

 

Mmmm somewhere in between for me, like teenagers. ^^

Most adult dolls bodies are too realistic for me, and yet I prefer beauty over child-like cuteness.

 

I prefer child dolls because they are smaller and so cute . Adult dolls seem too big and well too body mature . Sometimes the adult dolls intimidate me a little cause its so mature and real.

 

I'm finding that I tend to be very flexible in my tastes. It just depends who speaks to me and wins my heart! I never thought I would be interested in a child-like doll, but I bought one last month! I think it would be such fun to dress her up in super cute clothing, and she would be much easier to carry around with me. I have to bring my over-the-shoulder style purse with a wide shoulder strap with me so I can sit Riordan (Soom Idealian Hyperon) on my purse to carry him for long periods, or the weight becomes a bit much. The adult male sculpts by Soom are what really appeal to me most of the time, however, as well as Iplehouse's female sculpts, because they're so curvy! I imagine in the future I'll have a very mixed doll family!

 

I dont know, I think i like both childlike dolls and older looking dolls The kiddie ones are just soooooo adorable, and how you can get little toy props and make dollhouses for the really little ones really appeals to me (i have a dollhouse WIP ) But I love the womanly silhouette of my dolls which are teens -> adults because I think it is beautiful. In respects to frilly clothing I dress ALL my dolls in frilly clothes regardless of age ^_^ but they are all female.
