Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Do you prefer Child or Adult Dolls? Why?

Feb 9, 2007

    1. c: I prefer the not-to-young, not-to-old type.
Not fully adults--about tween or teen.

    2. I prefer the adults more. I think dressing both is so much fun, down right adorable fun with the children type. But dressing the adult types are more fun. I feel there's more you can do with the adult then the children While they each have their own plusses, I always tend to lean towards adults more.

    3. It kinda depends on the doll? But generally, I prefer a little more mature looking girls and more child-ish-looking boys...I think...

    4. I agree with Shailara in that it depends on the doll for me. I have a pair of more mature dolls (my SDs), but I also have a pair of childlike dolls (my MSD and my Tiny). I don't feel as though I have a preference one way or the other, and it depends more on the individual.
To that end, my favorite currently is definitely the MSD~

    5. I have both mature and child dolls, but generally prefer adult looking girls, because I can create different styles of dresses for them.
I'm aware that I could change my mind at any time: for instance I've fallen in love for the newer releases of Volks Yo-sd girls.

    6. I love more mature looking dolls, but sadly I'm in love with the MSD price range which leaves me not a lot options. Yay for Iplehouse!

But I think small dolls are adorable do, child like dolls I mean. I just ordered my first Yo-SD yesterday, or put her on layaway actually, because was limited and I couldn't get her and then was rereleased. There was no was I was missing out again.

    7. I can't say that I even have a doll, really, but the more mature ones are more appealing to me. The JID selection carried by Iplehouse is very pretty, but the only thing that really stands out to me there is Asa. The YID and even the SID dolls are pretty amazing, too, but the EIDs make me cringe a little bit because I feel that they're too short to look that mature.

I guess, in D&D terms, it's like a common human seeing an elderly halfling... And I get the feeling this reference just flew. High.

    8. Adult 1/4 scale dolls... I really can't do children dolls. I think other people's are cute when they're like 1/6 scale, but I know they're just not for me.

    9. I enjoy MSD's that are a little more mature. I like mature bodies and not so chubby faces. SD's are to large for me but if I had them it would be the same. I would like mature looking ones.
I really love seeing Yo-SD's and smaller as my sister has them but they are to small for me personally...If I were to purchase one in the future it would have to be child-like as in my eyes that's what that size should look like.

    10. Erm, a little bit of both, really. I prefer the adult ones because I find larger dolls to be easier to cuddle with.:D But I plan on getting some tinies in the future too.

    11. Kid dolls are my fave. They're more fun to dress because you can get away with more colorful clothes and silly patterns than you could with an adult doll.

    12. Child dolls! Making clothes for them is the best-- ruffles everywhere!

That, and I like dolls that look "doll-y--" like, treasured antique dolls, only modern. So that's usually more childlike sculpts.

    13. Child dolls too! They are fun to dress and you can take them with you almost anywhere!

    14. I prefer child or teens BJD's. They are more nice and appreciating for me. I like a little baby doll, sitting near me, and looking on me with her (his) shiny eyes!:fangirl:

    15. I like a little of everything...it depends on the style of the doll. I'll be getting my first IH JID doll and am already planning who else will join my IH family and how they will interact. I'm thinking the ages of the IH JID dolls will be late teens/early 20s. I think the smaller sized dolls make good little brothers an sisters. :)

    16. I certainly like mature dolls more then young ones. They are better looking to me, more peasing to the eye I guess, lol.

    17. I don't like the extremes: really childish tinies, or mature adults of any size. I do like the "ageless", youthful-yet-mature and worldly-wise look. SDs that are still young and innocent, or tinies that have a wise, serious appearance. My dolls are figments of my imagination, so I don't want them to look too much like real people!

    18. I definitely prefer more adult-looking dolls... or should I say, young adult. My preference being mature MSD. I don't like child dolls at all, just like I don't like children. This was my biggest peeve when I used to own a CH AngeAi - there was no way of making her into anything but a child. So she had to go.
I like making clothing for young adults, I like my dolls having nicely-shaped bodies, which, I have to admit, is a little hard when it comes to minis. I also don't like them when their eyes are bigger than 12mm, I always have a friend modify them for me if that's the case and I really want the doll.
I guess I'm weird like that...

    19. I like my mature MSDs, dolls that would be in their late teens early 20's age. I think I can identify with them the most because they would be the same age as me if they were real. I love looking at other people's adult dolls, but I know they aren't for me. I would like a younger child aged doll too, maybe between 5-7, when the world is still magical.

    20. I like adult looking dolls. Late teens are about the youngest I'll go and I really do not find childish dolls appealing. But then again, I don't really like kids!
