Do you prefer Child or Adult Dolls? Why?

For SD's I prefer to have adult dolls. Some teens but older teens. Maybe because it's just Easier to find adult dolls in SD anyways.

Though I have made an exception for my DDs and MDDs. They're big and cute enough to be younger! So they are.

MSD's vary! I prefer slim styles and with the scattering of 50cm men I have a range of ages. Though trying to find child like MSD's who are smaller than the mature mini's is hard! But they are from adult to teenager.

Tiny's are ALL children though not babies. Do Not Want babies. Six years old and up for me and I prefer them to have older bodies. Aka I hate Iplehouse's BID's bodies because they look too young! I love Luts, Soom and Bambicrony because the bodies are just childlike not baby like. If I could replace all the bodies i Would.

So I guess I prefer adults but don't mind child like dolls either. Though the Adults have full back stories while the kids just have personalities that interact. So there's a big difference there as well.

 

Mature, adult-looking dolls hands down. I think I've just always enjoyed adult situations (not ADULT SITUATIONS on primetime TV, just general grown-up things) more than children stuff. The main thing I enjoy about my dolls is coming up with their characters and the world they live in and I'm just not that interested in children characters. Would I love having a few Yo-SD's to dress up and coo over? Totally, but for now, while I'm broke, I'd rather just get the dolls I know I'll play with most.

 

Well since I look for dolls to embody characters of mine, I prefer the more adult dolls... since my characters are mostly adults.

 

I know I'm the odd ball. I love child like looking dolls, especially preteen type.
I guess I've always related to this population. Before I had to go on disability
retirement I worked with teen moms/dads and their babies. I usually got the "tuff"
ones because I had been there so long, plus I just had a way with teens. We must remember
they will not be teenagers forever!

I would rather have mature looking dolls BUT I prefer YoSD which sucks for me. It's reallyreally rare for companies that size that are mature but I don't really mind the cute YoSDs if I really love the sculpt.

 

These are just my opinions but I prefer more mature looking dolls, or well... not mature really but somewhere in between. I like them to have breasts and muscles and all... but not look very realistic.
SD13 are really good for me, because they can be seen as either older or a little younger.

Although I have recently fallen for Dollshes Saint, as he looks more mature, like a guy I would actually fall for in real life. He's more angular and looks older, and I wouldn't normally fall for such a doll. He's also the first male doll I've fallen for so far who isn't "cute" in that type of sense)

It also depends on if I want a cute character or a character who is more handsome. Again, SDs are really good because they can go either way, as long as they are not put next to a doll of another size.

 

When I first started collecting, I collected child/teen dolls. I still think they're adorable, but just not for me. I'll play with my friends' dolls but I rarely buy any of those for myself. As I've grown and matured in the hobby, so have my tastes. Now just about everyone in my crew is 'of age'. And most are mature sculpts.

 

I prefer more mature, realistic dolls. The stylized ones creep me out a bit and most of my charas are adults. Child charars get "time-warped" to adulthood before I use them much.

 

I prefer child-like dolls but with slightly mature-looking features. I'm only adding MSDs or smaller dolls to my collection because SD-sized ones don't suit me very well. This is mainly because my characters are mostly children or teenagers at most.

 

My characters are mostly adults, so I enjoy the thought of more mature/adult SDs for my small collection. I do enjoy some of the pretty tinies and MSDs, and I will definitely own a couple dolls that aren't specific characters. :]

 

I prefer adults, but then I see so many cute kids dolls- so who knows, maybe I'll buy one some day.

 

We can be odd balls together! I prefer young child dolls just leaving babyhood behind 2-8 yrs. Chubby & soft & innocent! I view my PF Mi-cha at about 5yrs. When my RP PoPo comes home I'm not sure where he'll fit into. He seems to be an elf so chronologically may be a lot older than he appears. I hope he has a youthful spirit.

I'm considering a Minifee on my wishlist, and what is holding me back is she may be too old for my crew. My doll room is a nursery so it just works for me. I like to crochet & knit outfits for small child personality types. I also crochet tiny stuffed animals & toys. I guess I have enough of being an adult in real life.

 

I prefer older dolls because I love the detail and realism. I love their long legs and their mature bodies. Maybe it's because I'm 18, but I'm more into SD dolls that I can dress in a style I also favor for example high heels. I wouldn't want to dress a younger doll in what would be considered inappropriate or 'showy' clothes.

 

Adult, unquestionably. This may have something to do with my aversion to human children, I dunno. I typically only buy a doll if I "fall in love" with it, and since I don't love children I'm not likely to love a child-like doll. Although, if I were to find one of Sam from the movie Trick 'r' Treat, that would be a doll I could love.

 

I prefer adults as I think they're easily to put into a character.

 

I prefer adults. They are just easier to paint and shop for.

 

I've never been a "baby" person (meaning I have never wanted one of my own and don't have any interest in other people's). And I don't have a ton of patience with children, either. Nearly all of my BJDs are SD and taller teens and adults. But I do have two MSD sized BJDs who are eight year old children in my doll world. Dream of Doll Too was one of my first BJDs, and I got a Volks MSD Enn so he would have a friend... but I really don't want any more children BJDs. And NO toddlers or babies! Though I am sure I would appreciate the fact that they wouldn't require any care on my part, LOL!

I have pre-teens, teens, and adult BJDs, so I guess I lean toward mature. I have a bunch of OT chibis, though, and they're kind of like little kids!

 

I prefer adult dolls more
Cuz I am often more drawn to adults, even in real life
And I own a lot of 1/3 size BJDs too,,,, I just love the size n maturity in them,
although some sculpts that were once look more mature cannot compare to the new sculpts n body coming out~

 

I really liked young the best then i started seeing the more mature and caved. so i bought both!
