1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you prefer closed mouth or opened mouth?

Feb 25, 2018

    1. Definitely closed. For me it's more simple to take photos when a doll has quite neutral facial expression.

    2. A lot of open mouth smiles look funny to me, and open mouth but chill expression has to look a certain way for me to like itm closed mouths are a winner for me. Theres only one open mouth smile sculpt that I'm in love with, and there's only one and it will never be for sale

    3. I like closed mouth dolls. Open mouth dolls remind me of the dolls from the late 1800s and early 1900s. I do think that my dolls talk to me (well in my mind) so I guess they do it with their mouths closed. Hmmm, I never thought about it like that before.

    4. I like open mouthed dolls and different expressions in general, also really like vampire teeth :whee:. It can also really bring out their character, shoushou doll has a few sculpts with an open mouth that I think look nice.

    5. I like closed mouth and slightly open mouth because it will be easier to give the doll makeup.

    6. I thought I only liked closed mouth but then I got a Peewit and I fell in love!
      It's a case by case, I think..

    7. I prefer closed mouths, simply because the teeth can be a bit unsettling to me.

    8. Open mouth dolls have their time and place and can be especially cool in fantasy sculpts, but largely I think it limits what you can do with the doll. Closed mouth, but with a little bit of a smirk allows for so much more variety in perceived expression!

    9. Closed. But what I dislike most is the current trend of girl dolls having half-open mouths and half-closed eyes. It’s probably meant to look wistful, but to me it just seems risqué most of the time.

    10. I like closed-mouth better for the most part, but there are a few slightly open mouth dolls I like, it depends on sculpt style I think. I'm also more prone to like open-mouth dolls off they're like goofy kid type sculpts because it's adorable and makes me smile. I'd still say most of the sculpts I like are closed mouth though, and the dolls I actually have are closed mouth.
