Do you prefer full set or blank ?

Feb 12, 2019

    1. If I like the aethestic of the full set, I would try to get that if it didn't cost too much, but if I am more drawn to the doll itself, I would definatly get it blank and build it up into something all its own.

    2. I think for right now I like fullsets. I can’t do faceups and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to tbh, but it’s also because I’m so new to the hobby that I don’t have much right now so it’s nice to have a doll made up and ready? If that makes sense? But I have to reallyyyyy love the fullset if I’m buying the doll, haha.

I think one day though I’d definitely like to get a nude doll and create my own character, commission a faceup, pick out an outfit, wig, etc. since there is a lot of fun that comes from customization!

    3. I tend to prefer the idea of a blank doll. It can be similar to a blank canvas. I tend to have personal characters in mind and like to buy dolls that are beautiful in a blank state. It is also fun to see them evolve. Full sets tend to be far more expensive too. Fairlyland and Soom have beautiful full sets though. :aheartbea

    4. I think I would get the full set for a doll I absolutely loved. It is so much more expensive but I would prefer it over a blank of the same doll.

    5. Somehow I never really find a full set I love or when I do it is sold out. The other issue is that I usually am not satisfied with the Company faceup. That's why I don't get full sets and just a blank doll with custom faceup.

Edit: now I found a full set outfit that I like but don't like the doll xD

    6. Blank. Most of full set dresses are disappointing.

    7. blank because i'm shelling oc's but if i ever found a fullset i really truly loved i wouldn't be apposed to buying it.

    8. I really like both, honestly. Blank to practice more face ups, full because gorgeous outfit (and maybe the faceup if it is in my style)

    9. I usually go for blank. I've onlyever bought one fullset doll and even that was just for the outfit and accessories, no face-up. I enjoy letting my creativity loose way too much.

    10. I love blank dolls! My preference is to see the potential in a doll, and to bring that vision to life with my own hands. I have one fullset doll (the first doll I ever ordered, before I understood where I was going with this hobby) and I wish I could go back and order him blank! He only wore his fullset outfit for a couple of days, his company faceup arrived scratched and was not to my aesthetic taste, and he never wore the awful fullset wig :sweat I'm currently in the process of wiping and customizing him instead, and I know that I'll be so much happier with the results!

    11. As a beginner who isn't 100% confident in customizing yet, I wanted to start out with a fullset so I'd have fancy clothes and a faceup to begin with... Maybe my future dolls will be more custom jobs (and less expensive lol).

    12. If I could afford a fullset, that would be nice, but I opted to paint Lucrezia and went in a different direction than the Han/Asronn fullset did. I love what she looks like (except I'll probably repaint her at some point to neaten up some details of the paint job) and I never would have had "my" Lu if I hadn't gone with the blank doll. :)

    13. I've only gotten a full set once out of three dolls, because the doll and outfit were absolutely amazing. The other two dolls I bought as basics (with faceups) because I had my own idea on what to do with them.

    14. For me, it all depends on the character. I never purchase a doll without a character in mind (whether it’s a long sought character or one that just sprang immediately to mind when I saw the doll and had to have it.) If the full set matches my vision I won’t hesitate to get it, with or perhaps without the face-up, depending upon how well it suits the character. Although I’ve done the majority of my own face-ups, I like the occasional company face-up for a bit of diversity. Same goes with outfits...although I mostly sew my own, sometimes it’s nice to have something designed by someone else in the collection.

    15. I prefer getting blank dolls, so my dolls can be unique! :) I personally think it's a little sad to have the same doll as a lot of other people, it feels less special for me.
But I have to admit that Fairyland fullsets are really beautiful! Sometimes, if I really like an outfit or another part of the set, I join a split to get the piece I really like! :3nodding:

    16. Always blank.

    17. For certain brands I would love to get fullset

    18. Most of the time blank, I don't really trust the face up, sometime it not look as good as the poster.

    19. Full sets! I usually plan on changing their face up/style but it's nice to have them come with something so that they aren't faceless and naked XD

    20. Blank. I’ve never bonded to a doll that came with a faceup even. Let alone clothes wigs etc. Customizing the doll myself bonds me to it. I remember I had this gorgeous volks Kurumi head with a viridian house faceup and ended up selling her. The dolls I have kept for years are the ones I make up myself even if they are less beautiful :)
