    2. I’ve been in this hobby enough years that I’ve amassed a fairly good-sized collection, and from the very beginning I’ve been open to experiencing different sizes. My goal all along was to create small decorative vignettes throughout my home to use in place of artwork, and to populate those areas with whatever dolls and characters happened to strike my fancy. So I collected groupings to bring certain characters together in an artistic and fun way…much like a Tim Burton’s “Alice” in wonderland. By doing this, whenever I wander through my small home, I can visit with fascinating characters along the way, which is a truly lovely and magical way to live.:) Because of this, size was always dependent upon the size and type of vignette I was creating. Therefore it’s appropriate for me to have (and adore) all sizes…from tiny Realpukis to 65cm dolls.

    3. I love all sizes!! I can definitely show a lot of respect to someone who has only one size!! I have most sizes, from 15cm to 60cm! I love my crew and I’m glad that I can collect different sizes, because when I was younger I honestly really only liked 1/6 size dolls the best.

    4. I like super tiny micro dolls the best like 6 inches or under but they have to have articulation or its a no go. The best articulation I've ever had was oddly from the smallest bjd I've ever even seen. She barely surpassed a Bic lighter in height. She was only offered as a 3d printed model so idk if she counts as a bjd original mold or not but she even had toe joints. I tend to like more mature sculpts and body's so it's often harder the smaller they get. I don't hate larger dolls its just unrealistic spacewise for me to keep more than one.

    5. I like slim-mini size best, but on the shorter end of it. Like 35-44cm. I do also have some 1/6 child-like dolls, though. I tried an SD once, but she was just way too much for me to handle, so she sat on my shelf collecting dust, and eventually got sold.

    6. I voted other because I've got them all, from 12 cm. on up to 70. Eventually 75 cm., when my two Ringdoll boys arrive.

    7. My first cheap off topic doll is 60cm and I love his size. I have a 30cm on layaway for my first real bjd but I suspect I will want a bigger one after that- possibly the 70cm type. I’ll wait and see when he arrives though.

    8. Large all the way (but not too large, 55-65 cm is the range I am aiming for). I only ever owned that size though. I definitely can see the appeal of a mini, but after owning larger ones, I fear anything smaller wouldn't have as much presence.

    9. I don’t think I have a preference. My dolls are chosen based on my plans for them.

I do handle/play with my SD more. He’s perfect for cuddles and the weight feels nice. I have two tinies. One is a j-baby who’s adorable, expressive, and a good poser when she not wearing a heavy-for-her wig. And my other tiny is going to have a twin and adopted parents.

Tinies and MSDs have amazing variety and affordability. SDs feel nice, easier to craft for, and usually more mature looking.

    10. I prefer SDs (my dolls are 52-65cm). Their faces are adult and realistic and their bodies are so detailed - all the bones, muscles... Small dolls are cute, but maybe like a kids of my 1/3 dolls for my story.

    11. I own all kinds of sizes and I’m happy with them all but I could say I do prefer SD dolls (50~65cm). All my “human” dolls are big because I prefer how they look more mature…childish dolls are just not for me.
That said, I had a dream of having one idealian painted by rdean, but gave up because I don’t think I could handle a doll that’s 70cm and above. Also don’t have space enough for that.

    12. I have 2 mini-sized dolls and I'm mostly okay with them but sometimes I find them to be too big and hard to work with.
The other 4 are tiny and those are the ones I love handling the most, so small and lightweight. I can easily carry my tinies around in a purse in my usual bags and place them anywhere.
About bigger dolls... I don't think I'd find them comfortable, though I like that their faces are usually more realistic and mature.

    13. I prefer large dolls because at the time I couldn't imagine how big a 75 cm doll would be in real life. I saw that most of the above 50 cm dolls were more to my liking before I thought of the size of the doll. I preferred the outfits that went with the larger dolls. I like that the larger dolls are more detailed. I feel like the smaller sized dolls lack detail and the hands aren't as nice. I bought several dolls above 50 cm before I finally decided to think about the size of the dolls. I realized 75 cm is really large for me to easily hold, but I just really like the way the larger dolls look like. As a result, I keep buying large dolls. Recently, I've been okay with the smaller dolls. If they are super cute I might overlook the things I don't like about the small dolls.

The negative of owning large dolls is the cost of outfits go up while for the smaller ones it's not as expensive, so you can buy more clothes for your tiny dolls if you have any. I have the large dolls, but haven't bought enough outfits. I have the wigs and the eyes for the dolls, but some dolls have to go without bodies, shoes, and clothes for now. I wanted to buy some outfits for my dolls on etsy or commission them, but finding clothes in large sizes is more difficult then I thought.

I like tiny stuff as well, but the smaller bjds I am not as drawn to them.

I think I like for now 58 cm to 75 cm. I think I might be okay with a doll under 50 cm, but above 25 cm, but there are exceptions like my soom egg.

    14. For Display I like large dolls a lot, they‘re just more visible. But I also love smaller dolls since they‘re great for taking with me on travels or visiting somewhere. I own 1/3, 1/4 and 1/6 right now and they all have their own things to love about them

    15. I definitely prefer the larger dolls since they look more grown up and mature. Since most of my original characters are adults, the larger dolls are often a perfect fit! While I'm aware that some companies offer smaller versions of their adult sculpts, I would rather just get the larger size since they're often easier to buy clothes and accessories for.

Lately, however, I find myself looking at the 1/4 and 1/6 sizes to shell my younger characters or to create entirely new characters! The smaller sizes are also much more affordable and don't take up as much space (which I am quite limited on :sweat). So they really are looking appealing!

    16. I love the 1/6th mature slender dolls the best. They can wear barbie sized things, so dressing them is endless and they take up a lot less space.
After having all different sizes, and much trial and error trying to find what I really like, I am pretty content with my small collection at the moment.

    17. I like small dolls the best. I have one msd and I love her but everyone else is yosd or smaller. Tinies are just so cute :D

    18. Go big or go home—not something I get to say often, but BJDs are one exception. I've owned dolls of all sizes, but to-date, nothing beats the presence, detail, or companionship qualities of a 57-65cm doll. The obsession with mature minis will always elude me. :sweat

    19. I love the minies, tinies and pet sizes. Generally anything creature based or elf themed.

MSD and Minifee are my second favorite because they scratch that "almost a Barbie" itch in terms of size. (I know they are still a bit bigger than Barbie dolls, but I hope you understand what I mean) They aren't so big that they intimidate and not so small to be too childish, in my humble opinion.

The SDs are best for fashion design and photography shoots for me. They are the easiest to sew for and McGuiver props and stuff for a scene. With a little play on distance and angle, you can trick the camera to fit an SD doll in a human environment. But also, the SDs are the ones with a more "serious sculpt" for heads available. So maybe that's why I opted for that size to shell my OCs.

    20. I love the tinies.
