1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Whenever I'm looking around for a sculpt (especially to fit a particular character), the first place I check is the database. I'll get a good idea of potential sculpts from the doll company websites, then cross-reference the database to see the versatility of the sculpt and how well the owner pics match up with the company ones.

Since I appreciate seeing the different ways owners have customized the same sculpt, I add my own dolls to the databases to contribute. Though I usually only add the doll after it has a faceup and a name. If it's an "in-progress" doll, I don't usually add him/her until he/she is mostly complete.

    2. All three dolls I have now are in databases, and I plan on adding any dolls I get in the future to the databases as well. I enjoy going through them to check out and compare how other owners of the same sculpt have made their dolls unique.

    3. I love putting my dolls in databases! I don't necessarily always put their character's biographical info, but at the very least I put wig type, eye size & type, and who painted the faceup. I think it's a great reference for someone looking into buying that type of doll, as well as just being nice to see a lot of the sculpt I like all in one place.

It's particularly useful when there aren't many of that doll around to begin with. I started the database for Volks F20 because there hadn't been one yet, and then invited the other (four or five) owners I knew about to post theirs in it as well. It's great to see a few of this unpopular (but very cute!) headsculpt all together. :)

    4. i'll do, why not?

    5. I simply never did get round to adding them in. Probably because I'm never satisfied with my photos...

    6. I put all my dolls pic in database. Database helps me a lot in doing my dolls-survey things before I ever buy a doll -always do survey except for Natsu case, he's totally love by first site ;p -

When people write the eyes size, wig type or colors sometimes and etc, it does help me a lot in my doll shopping when I first started the hobby. I kinda feels a bit troubling to ask each owner I saw their opinions on dolls, so the existence of database, really helps me a lot. That's why when I have my own, I'll try to write at least the important part of my doll in database. (though sometimes I keep forgetting to update them lol).

    7. I answered no because it's honestly just something I never think about doing. I'm terribly lazy & far too lax about taking photos. Perhaps if I could get a couple free days I'd take out all the dolls & try to get decent shots of them. Then I'd happily put them in the database.

    8. Yup, cuz I have fun looking at what people do with different types of the same doll, so why not contribute?

    9. I really rely on the databases to see owner pics of a doll I want before I buy him/her. With different face-ups and characters by all sorts of different owners, it really helps to exemplify the diversity of the sculpt. So yeah, I think databases are helpful and great! ^-^

Unfortunately though, I often forget to put my own dolls in the databases until many months after I've owned them, LOL. ^^; But when I remember, I do. ^-^

    10. Honestly, I can't WAIT to put my Shall into the database! Personally, I love looking through the databases to see the various ways to customize the doll--and too see how it "really" looks (without the company photoshopping and extremely epic picture-taking).

However, I wasn't able to put my first BJD into a database because there isn't one for her. :( But I've heard that Everpurple is going to re-release their kitties, so maybe when they do I'll make a database! ^_____^

    11. I plan to put all of my future dolls in their respective databases.

It most likely will not be their "final forms," however.

    12. I also like the databases, but I've been waiting until Skylar gets some CLOTHES and possibly the right eyes before I put him in the database. After all, if so many people look at them for references, I'd like him to look his best!

    13. I am pretty sure all of mine are listed in their respective databases. I need to go back and double-check one day to be sure.

I love the databases. They are probably my favorite feature here on DoA. They provide wonderful reference pics for dolls I am thinking about buying, and I always love seeing what fellow owners do with their sculpts.

    14. Since I have and will continue to take total advantage of the databases to look at various sculpts and how many ways they can be styled and modded, I plan on adding all of my dolls to them, even if only with a few snapshots.

    15. I try to but I completely fail at photograph and sometimes I am really embarrassed to post a photo. There are so many good photographers here and I have a really crappy point and shoot digital camera. I am always buying more dolls with no money for a better camera.

    16. I always have a entry for every doll that I own because I believe that other people who are interested in a certain mold would find it useful to know what possibilities they could get with it.

    17. I put my dolls into databases. Well, only one out of two is in a database right now.

The reason why I put them in (or will put them in) is because I love looking at databases, even if I never intend to buy that type of doll. It's so interesting to see the type of things that people do with their dolls that are the same mold or same company, so I do my part to offer back in the same way.

Usually I wait a bit to add my doll. I like to have a certain look or character developed somewhat before I add them so I'm not changing it every few weeks, haha.

    18. I have. I only have one doll, so it's easy. Not only that, but I'm sure a lot of people look to databases to see how certain dolls can look like. And how different they can compare to others. So, it's nice to help others out, when in need for references to how doll looks. So yah. I have, and I shall continue when I get more! 8D

    19. I marked some of them, since I try to add all of mine but some I havent gotten around to yet due to blank face ups haha

    20. I love the databases as it gives people a chance to see the variety of each face-mold. For the first year of my membership, the databases where the only reason I came here ^^
I plan to put all my dolls in their respective database when I've made some decent photos of them.

I really think everybody should take the time to add their dolls. I've got an AS Cinderella on the way and I know there are a lot of Cinderella owners around here, but only one is listed in the database. So I have to search the forum to find pictures of her. I also know there are a lot of Zuzu owners around, but again only few of them are listed in the database >.<
