Do you put your dolls in databases

I try to have better photos of mine before posting them... since right now they keep changing face-up/wig/eyes, I would like to wait for them to be finished before posting a photo =3

I would only post 1-2 though.... I like to see photos of peoples dolls when I am searching for a certain mold, but if I want to see more I would just go in their profile and search for them ;3

That is why I post a photo when I can =3

 

I love looking at the dolls in the database, thats for sure. When I find a mold that interests me that's the first place I got to get great owner's pics of the sculpts! It really helps me decide if that's a doll I'll fall in love with or not. I think it's pretty cool that there is a BJD database!

I haven't put any of my dolls in the database yet, but I plan to. I'm just waiting until I get them looking exactly how I want them t first.

 

i voted yes. if one of my dolls is not in a database then it's just because of laziness. i had some dolls that never even made it into a database because i never got around to add them and then sold them again.
but the ones i have now are all in databases. i think it's a neat tool to see other dolls of the same mould and and how different they can look depending on the owner's style!

 

I certainly will once I get my new doll!

I think that's the politest thing to do.
The databases are really convenient and great for looking up dolls,
thus I think that everyone should contribute to them as good as they can!

 

The database is very helpful for members who want to check out a certain sculpt. I'd strongly encourage all owners to put a pic in the relavant thread/s for easier searching. ^_^;; It's a form of giving back to the community, after all.

 

My Dizzy is currently in the Shushu db I believe. Poem's not entirely finished yet though :] She'll be added when she gets some suitable clothes.

 

I have put Aurora in the Database. I have yet to put Marcus in there. But it's a little hard to manage. I usually change things often, and having to edit my post constantly starts to get annoying. o.e
So I've basically stopped doing so. xD

 

Not yet, but once I complete them I plan to do so. xD

 

I love looking through the databases to see all the different looks certain dolls can have. They've also been really helpful for deciding on my likeness to a sculpt.

I plan to add my boys to their databases once I define thier personalitys and image. ^^; SOON!

 

I wasn't really clear on the databases and their function until I read this thread. Now all my dolls--that have databases--are listed. And I'm attempting to establish a new one.

 

I put my dolls/heads in once they're "finished" to me -wigged, faceupped, clothed etc.
I like to check out the dolls in the databases to help me figure out which ones I want, so I like to return the favour

 

I always put mine in databases, it's just nice to have references to help you decide if you want a doll or not.

 

I do cause I like to see how different a single mold can be! And I like when other members do post their picture ^^

 

I only put some of my dolls in databases. I don't like putting my floating heads in databases usually. Sometimes I forget to put a doll in a database.

 

Yes, I do. It may help other people to choose a dolls for themselves.

 

I do, because I know how much databases help other doll owners/soon-to-be owners figure out if they really like a sculpt or not. I was on the fence about whether Kieran's character would fit as a shiwoo, but looking through the database helped me decide. Plus, it's really interesting to see the variety of ways that a particular sculpt can look, and it's nice to see owner pics vs. company pics.

I prefer waiting until the doll's complete. But if I know it's a rare or unpopular doll I'll put a temporary picture in the database. There's already 40 billion MNF Shiwoos. One more or less won't hurt anything.

 

I used to put them all in, but lately I am a bit behind on this mostly because of a lack of photos. I like to put them all in because I use the databases a lot as a resource when planning faceups, characters etc. I look to see what possibilities there are with the sculpt other than the factory defaults, what I can do to make the doll perfect. I want to contribute to that for other members who do the same thing, and of course just share the doll smex. sometimes I also think it is good to have a place where people can reference your characters, someone sees y9our dolls in a post, or reads about them, well they can then find them in the database, read their story, have a better understanding of them.
