1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I havent put either of my dolls in databases, but I do plan on it. :3

    2. I put Yeyo Yuma in the JID database. It really doesn't take that much effort and it's cool to compare her to other dolls of the same sculpt. Plus, I recently started tussling back and fourth the idea of getting a boy doll, and to my dismay I can hardly find any owner pics of the ones I'm looking for, le sigh. Everyone should post their dolls in a database!

    3. I put my dolls in the databases. If I sell that doll, I leave the database entry up but make a note of the sale. I think it never hurts to have a lot of owner's pictures!

    4. I love the databases! The best thing about the hobby is how different each doll is, even from same molds. Having a place to go to see all the ways a mold can be made to look is invaluable if one is wondering if a particular mold is right or not for a character. I do usually wait until I feel my doll is "done" and I can get a good picture. I want to show off my kids at their best.

    5. Yes, absolutely! I wish everyone did, they're so useful. It helps a LOT being able to see what everyone else does with their dolls and how much variety a single sculpt can have!

....That said, I still haven't put my T.E-an in her database yet, after having her for a month. XD But I'm trying to be helpful and get her some non-default clothes first....:sweat

    6. I use the databases like mad when I want to see if a sculpt is right for what I imagine for it! In the same vein, I put my dollies on it so others can see what I've done (since I usually do a little against the grain for the sculpts I have).

      I love them :D

    7. I always put my dolls in the databases right after I've gotten them XD And I love browsing the databases and see what the owners do with their own dolls ;3

    8. I do, just because those are what really helped me decide on what molds to get. Being able to see the versatility of all the dolls helps people see what they could turn it into, instead of what the company pictures tell you. So I want to be able to maybe help someone else who's choosing a doll by offering up my pictures and my takes on the dolls :)

    9. I do :) execpt one that i didnt keep long enough to consider important enough to be known to the DoA commmunity xP
i do it because i like any occasion to show my dol AND as you said, not many people post in the database, so it makes one more ^^

    10. I add pictures of my dolls as soon as they're complete. The databases are super-helpful in seeing what dolls look like without having to scour the entire forum. It's a good jumping-off point for finding what your potential dream doll looks like in real life, I think.

    11. I've put both of my dolls in the databases, but for the second one it took a while since I wanted to have her 'complete' before putting the entry

    12. Once I plan out and solidify their character and back story, off to the Database they go.
So its not an immediate thing, I have to spent quite some time with them so as to get to 'know' them better ;) then I build their personality from there.

I like the Database, love to see the different styles and chars people create from the same sculpt, it helps when you want to look at a specific mold in variety of looks too. Its pretty much thanks to it that I finally settled on my Philippa, after comparing her with other girls that I intend to get but couldn't decide between all of them.

    13. Do you put pictures of your dolls in the database?
Yes, of all my BJD when I feel they are ready (Have their look) to be shown. Only one of them is missing yet until he is also ready.

      Why?
I love the database and I put pictures of mine in there because same way I like watching same BJD sculpts together at their own places in the database, I think other (Many) people like that too.

    14. As soon as she has hair and maybe a shirt. XD;
Cuz yeah, the databases are awesome.

    15. Oh yes, I do. I think it's important, because databases are one of the first things I look at when I'm considering buying a new doll. I like to look at owner pics, and that's a good place to find a slew of pictures of the doll with completely different "looks." I recently got a doll that only had about five owner pictures in the database, and it was very sad (google didn't have much, either, and there were a few photoshoots on the site but the picture links were broken, so the database was one of my only reference points). :< So I try to help out as much as possible other people who may be like me by adding fairly decent pictures of my own dolls. C:

It's more of a picture thing, though, rather than a character thing for me.

    16. Absolutely. It helps others when they are looking for a new doll, different angles, eyes, wigs, clothing, face ups. I love looking at the database myself to see if I like home pictures of particular dolls. It gives you a better sense of 'real' rather then how the company displays the dolls I think it's really important to see how they look outside the professional photos.

There's been times where I loved the professional pictures but seeing the doll first hand made me think twice about buying it. But the same is true where I didn't like the professional pictures but loved the doll in person. It goes both ways.

I think that makes sense. ;D

    17. Eventually I will once I complete any one of them (and probably get a new camera for a better picture) :sweat

    18. In my case, not often because I rarely access specific areas of DoA except through spotting them listed under New Posts, and then it's only the ones that catch my attention with the thread title.

Mostly I read DoA in snatches, flipping into it to read for a few moments, here-and-there, while waiting for jobs to save or load at work, so there isn't time to open up my Photobucket account, search out a suitable picture and copy the details to post in a database thread.

I've only once deliberately gone looking at the databases, and that was when I was trying to find some info for a friend.

    19. I love the databases - I love being able to see a large number of the same sculpt in different faceups, eyes, wigs, styles. It's fun to scroll through the different looks the same doll can exhibit, it's really the heart of our hobby, and if I'm planning a doll of that type it's wonderfully useful in deciding what style looks good for faceup and clothes, what eye size I like for that doll, what wig size seems good.

I just wish everyone would always mention what eye size and wig size the doll is wearing....! When presented with a form that says "Eyes", please do not fill it out with "green" - I can see that, you know! I need to know what size the eyes are................! :roar

    20. I am going to, at least thinking I should, but I´d like to get them ready before databasing them, as it´ll be huge job to correct them afterwards if they´re not "done" while added there. Sometimes I plainly forget there even exists a database, as this is such a huge forum. I also go to the Finnish bjd forum and have all my dolls in database there.

So, my answer is, some day I will get all my dolls databased here, too. I always like to watch the database of owner pics if plan for a new doll, so why wouldn´t I help others in the same way.
