1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. It is not I do not place the doll in a database and in general it not going to do. He for me in general does not like to be taken pictures, and doll for me now something secret and I do not want it to show nobody, except for the nearest me people

    2. I always planned to. I know that databases helped me a lot when I was just starting here. I would also browse through the gallery and spend a great deal of time in search looking for more pictures of the dolls that I liked. I sort of wish more people would put their dolls in the databases so that others can see how very different the same molds can be!! I will put my dolls in eventually. I only have my girl at the moment and her look isn't complete yet. I will only add pictures of the dolls that have a completed look, personality, backstory, etc.

    3. I voted Yes all of them, although they aren't all in the database yet.
Yelena, Varushka and Ivan are in the database because they have their face-up and their clothes.
Leana still needs a face-up, clothes and personality, so when I have finished that, she will be definately put into the database.
And Lilliya.. she doesn't have a body and doesn't have any clothes yet, so when she has her body and clothes she will also be put in the database.

Personally I love to look into the database for dolls I have on my wishlist, to make sure I like the mold. So it helps me a lot and I want to put my dolls in there for others too.

    4. ..........

    5. Yes, as soon as I have a reasonable photo to use (which may take some time).

I find the database forum extremely helpful. I use it quite often and feel it is only fair that I contribute (especially seeing as for at least one of my dolls, the database is very tiny!).

I'll admit I find it a bit douchey for one to use the database a lot without contributing, but I also recognize and respect that there are many valid reasons to keep one from adding his/her dolls.

    6. I think all but the last couple I have are in the Database. I've actually created a couple databases as well. I think its a great resource when you are starting out and thinking of getting a certain doll. A lot of people will say "I'll wait until I see owner pictures" or "I didnt love the doll until I saw owner pictures" so I think its important to have those up there. I even like it when people keep their doll up, even though they sold it. Just b/c they dont have it doesnt mean they didnt have a unique spin on that doll and the new owner might do something totally different.

    7. I put my doll in the database because, as others have done so also, I looked through the database when I was deciding which doll to get, so this is my contribution back. ^_^

    8. I wil definitely put my doll in a database
it's a great way of knowing other people and their dolls ^^

    9. I will when I finish my dolls.

    10. Yes I do. As soon as they're finished and I have a photo of them.

    11. I answered "all of them" but it's actually not all of them. Some of my dolls aren't complete yet (as far as faceups or proper eyes etc) go, and some of them I don't have proper pictures of (for example, my Nik has gone through three character changes since I've owned him, and I only have old pictures)...so it's more like I'd like to put all my boys in databases, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. :sweat

Personally, I like looking at databases, especially when I'm considering whether or not to buy a given doll. Seeing owner pictures is very helpful and it's easier to have them all in one place than to do a search through the regular Gallery. So I like to think that I'm helping contribute to someone's decision, and it also lets me babble about my characters, which is something I also love doing. :)

    12. I put all of mine in the database as I know how frustrating it is when you're interested in a doll and there are no owner pictures. For the same reason I post to picture request if someone has a request I can answer.

If you're using these resources, it is selfish not to contribute as well.

Even if they're still a work in progress, as long as they have a faceup, eyes and wig they are a useful addition.

    13. I usually put mine in their databases. I'm going to hold off now until the ones I have are complete, then I'll be either updating their entries or adding them. :)

    14. I didn't start adding dolls to databases until I had pictures that didn't make me cringe [and one of mine doesn't even have a database yet! :? Must fix that.]

I'll probably keep adding mine as I get them, though.

    15. I put all my dolls in the databases. It's easy for me to quick reference their profiles that way. Also, I love using the databases for looking at molds I might want to buy in the future. ^__^

    16. I put my dolls in databases if they're something I'm keeping. If it's a doll I've decided not to keep (right away) I usually don't put it in the database.

I also try to leave the pics up if I put them in the database but have since sold them on, the pics may still come in handy for someone down the line!

    17. I finally put both of my dolls in the databases... I use them when looking for certain sculpts and I really appreciate them, but for various reasons I kept putting it off...

First I wanted them to have their "permanent" eyes/wigs
And then to make sure they had a good outfit for the photo
And TAKING a good photo is hard for me!
And then I wanted to work out their backstory more....

      etc etc etc.

      So the other week I finally snapped a "profile" pic of my one girl who didn't really have a good one, totally failed at snapping one of my other girl and used an old photo, and gave them both database entries. XD;

    18. well i already have profiles waiting to be added to the databases just as soon as i get good pics of my dollies.
i love going to the databases and seeing other peoples dolls and how different 2 dolls of the same mould can look. its awsome and one of the reasons im into BJD's

    19. I'm seriously planning it - as soon as I do decent photos and get right wigs for new dollies. I take databases very serious and want my dolls to look perfect there.

    20. None of mine are finished. But I love looking through the DB at sculpts I'm interested in and I have definitely changed my mind about not liking certain sculpts solely through the amazing creativity that other DOAs have shown with their dolls.

Its also a great way of discovering new sculpts and also finding out little bits of information as a newbie. For example, what size eyes look good on MD Ryu? Can MNF DES carry off a dark vampish faceup and so on. Otherwise you would have to post a pic request thread every five mins.

When mine are finished I will definitely put them in the database, where hopefully they will be as useful and interesting to other browsers, as many other people's have been to me. :)
