1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. depends on the database i guess...

    2. I also find the databases a wonderful resource. I think I've added only one gal.
I just don't have any decent photos, a few do not have face-ups (so no point) and 2 were out getting work done. So I plan on placing all my dolls in the database, just haven't done it yet.

    3. i plan on doing so when i get my girl ^^
i think it is a wonderful thing to let people see the versatility of them.
half my time is spent browsing through databases looking at all the different dolls.
it is amazing how every last one could have a default faceup, but because of different clothing/wigs/eyes they all look like completely different dolls!

    4. I try to put as many dolls in their respective databases as much as possible but there are still quite a few that I haven't gotten around to yet. I really love browsing all the beauties in database threads as it adds to inspiration. I get a kick out of reading about the backstories of peoples' dolls but not everyone has those available. Sometimes, I also like to know the statistics of a doll, such as what color eyes and size they have in or which wig they have on as that can be very helpful.

    5. I do as much as possible (that is: if allowed by the mods, since individual minimees are not permitted).

When I was new to BJDs I used DoA as my research resource for finding out what can and can't be done with these dolls. For one thing, it's nice to be able to see how many different looks one sculpt can take on. It's also interesting to see what hybrids work. And, it's nice to see the difference between older bodies/sculpts/skincolors. I often make it perfectly clear what my doll's details are, because I want to be able to help people make decisions.

    6. Only dolls of mine that have faceups and have their proper clothing...well I have a couple of exceptions to that but I'm adding them as slowly as I get them done. I think it is quite fun to do

    7. I don't want to put my doll into database till I find him fitting image and make decent photos. Simple.

    8. Yeah I put my doll in the database for her mold. The other one I'm getting won't go in until it looks how I want it to XD

    9. *Sigh* I'd love to, but my boys just aren't ready yet :(
Still, once they get good wigs, eyes the right colour, and I redo their faceups one more time for good measure, they'll totally be heading for the databases! I practically live off them after all- whenever I'm browsing for new dolls to add to my wishlist (which is all the time) I go through the galleries to see if I can really bond with the faces :)

    10. You betcha! :) I love seeing what other people have done with their dolls of the same sculpt, especially when it comes to deciding on a purchase.

Of course, I also love to show off my girls and will take full advantage of any available opportunity! ;)

    11. I love the databases. I stalk them constantly when trying to decide which dolls I like. I wish they were more extensive, so I contribute.

    12. I've put all my dolls into "general" company databases and databases for individual sculpts. I also regularly update those entries with either new information or updated pictures (heck, their database entries are linked in my sig). I love the database archives and it really helps me decide if I like a particular sculpt or not.

    13. not yet, but i'll consider when my boy comes home^^

    14. Sure, I think they're really helpful and it's fun to see how different a sculpt can look :>

    15. Of course. I have even gone so far as to update my photos as certain characters have evolved. The database is a wonderful resource. It always amazes me how a mold can have dozens of different and distinct looks.

    16. I haven't put mine up yet, but I plan to.

    17. I haven't yet, for two reasons - 1, my dolls for the most part are characters in a novel I've been working on for 2 years, so I don't want to go revealing huge parts of it, and 2, I'm a lazy piece of crap. xD But seriously, for the dolls who aren't in the book, I'd like to... one day... If I get around to it...

    18. I typically add mine within a few days of getting them, assuming I can manage a decent picture with wig, clothes and eyes - even if they're borrowed. I update them once I have better pictures and the doll looks the way he is supposed to.

I need to add my newest and update Fitch, I haven't done that yet!

I'm constantly referring to the databases. Every time I see a doll for sale that I'm interested in, I check the database to see what they can look like. Every time someone mentions a sculpt I'm unfamiliar with, I head to the database. If I'm looking for a particular doll and can remember the sculpt or name but not the owner's name, on to the database. They're so useful!

    19. I've only made one database entry for my girl but that's because she's unfinished as of yet. She needs a wig before I can even consider her done; never mind some mods I'd like to make.

As for why, I feel my sculpt of choice is not as appreciated as some others in her lineage, and find it best to inspire more love for her with more spam. :D

    20. Yes I put pictures of my dolls in the database.
It takes a while...wel my last doll is exception, I was instantly in love with him.
I like to bond first with the doll and change it into the charakter I want.
      Through face-up, clothes etc.
