It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. I don't change eyes/wig much, but I change outfits occasionally just to keep things interesting.

    2. I'm able to change between two wigs with my boy Gabriel. Although his brunette wig tends to fit him most so really I only put on the blonde wig on random occasions when I start to miss his older look. As for clothes, he has a plethora of hand made clothing so I try to change it up every couple of months from casual to formal. I wouldn't be able to stand keeping him the same way for too long.

    3. I have had goals of huge wardrobes for my dolls, but oddly enough they always end up staying in my favorite outfit for them, regardless of how many other outfits they have. Every now and then I'll change their outfit, wig, eyes ect. just to change things up a bit because my tastes change often.

    4. i like to make dresses... so yeah they would change their style every time i make something new...

    5. I change their clothes all the time! I love it. I think for my Miss Kitty, though, since she is arriving as a fullset I'll probably keep her in her original clothes for a while.

    6. Once I am happy with a doll's style I will generally leave her alone. It may take a few outfit and wig changes before I am happy though

    7. I got my first resin girl this week. I can't put her down--I've changed her wig and clothes every day just for fun. I imagine when the newness wears off I won't change them as much, but still relatively frequently. I also have an OT Miku Pullip that I've had for about 2 years, and she only gets her outfit changed about once every six months. I feel like that might be attributed to the fact that she represents a specific character though.

    8. I redress often (and simple, so it goes fast), just for making my pictures different from day to day since I am in same location all the time

    9. Some of my dolls get new outfits often, other stay in one or two different outfits. I do intend to make new clothes for all of them eventually.

    10. My dolls clothes are in a similar vein so she wears different things. But I always undress her at the end of the day and put her back in her coffin. I don't want the clothing to stain her delicate resin. There is a small subset of go-to clothing if I'm just bringing her out to hang out as opposed to when we have a photo shoot where she gets to wear more elaborate fashions...

    11. I think one of my favorite parts of this hobby is the clothes and accessories!

Right now most of kids are nekkid or just have underwear on. But, when its meet up time I do a ton of mix and match to see what I can come up with, and what goes with their personality.

I have bought a ton of gently used clothes from the MP, mostly casual clothes. I don't think you should pay a ton for t-shirts and jeans!

There used to be a seller on here that made great casual clothes and she only charged like $3-$5 for a shirt or skirt, or a little more for a whole set. I have mounds of her clothes and I just go to town :p Sadly she closed her shop...

But when I want something that represents a certain doll and who their are, I commission from the MP and I love the stuff I have gotten. Costs more than my own clothes...but, I want them to stand out ;)

I guess I live through my dolls and I spend a lot on their things cuz its stuff/styles I can't or wouldn't wear in public, but they can!!

    12. I do both of these things as well, especially so I can remember when and where pics were taken by looking at their outfits.

Otherwise I like to leave them undressed & wrapped in a soft blanket so they wont stain or scratch. :o

    13. Most of my dolls have a character in place, or a 'style' I go by. Normally I will leave them in one outfit for a couple of weeks to a month or so, or until I'm tired of looking at it xD Now, my sd boy only has one thing at the moment, so he's stuck. And I don't have any of the really fancy outfits, like the military ones from ringdoll or really extravagant ones, but if I did i'd want to showcase it at least for a month ^^ but I wouldn't keep them in that one outfit forever.

    14. All three of my dolls are fixed characters. As long as I have them, they will be these characters. I like to change up their clothing, but I only dress them in things that their characters would wear. I don't think that I could redo who the doll is supposed to represent, especially since two out of the three were bought specifically to be the characters and the third already has an extensive backstory.

    15. I change my doll's outfits almost every time I take them out. The same thing gets boring after a while so it's time for a new outfit! ^^

    16. Eyes and wigs stay the same but clothes change quite a bit. There is only one doll I don't mess with because I don't know what to do with him. Never bonded with him in a sense so he just sits there.

    17. Once I get more clothes for my dolls, I think I will redress them quite a few times. But it would also depend on how easy the hands of Freyr would be to be taken off, cause now they are a pain to take off as his string in way to tight, you now need 2 people to get a hand off :P So I hope that after I visited Think Pink that that problem will be solved :)

    18. I rarely keep my dolls in the same outfit for more than a week. I think dressing my dolls is a fun part of the hobby.

    19. For me, I redress them when I finished sewing a new outfit or got new one ^^ But some are up to weather too. For an example in summer I prefer my doll to wear something thinner and light color because I'm afraid that I will feel hotter when I see them wearing blackish coat with full set suit! :D Anyway, I don't change their wig style or their eyes. I will do (wig) only when it begins to become dirty. So I will take it off, wash it, dry it and put it back.

    20. Currently I only have one outfit for my doll, so she has been stuck in that forever. However I change her wigs very frequently because it's fun trying different things on her. So I'm guessing that when I'm able to get more outfits I'll probably redress her often.
