1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. I don't have enough outfits to go around ._.

    2. Depends. Some I'm happy with seeing them wearing one or two outfits almost constantly, others I want to change constantly to the point I might put them in a different combination of clothes every couple days or so. As for clothes... I have quite a few but far from too many at this point.

    3. Pretty much never. Most of them only have one outfit anyway or bits and pieces that don't make up a whole second outfit. I only have one doll really who has two complete outfits and it takes me ages to switch them out since I'm lazy.

Once my collection is complete I'd like to focus more on gathering more outfits and accessories for them so hopefully their limited wardrobe will not be quite so limited in the future. I really do like doll clothes, but for now I'd rather focus on getting them here first and completely outfitting them later. So long as they have something to wear that fits them and is cute, that's fine enough for me for the time being.

    4. Most of my dolls have one outfit and they stay that way. I tend to find outfits that fit their character the best and see no need to change them once they are in that outfit. Other dolls have seasonal outfits so I'll change them every couple of months or so.

    5. My 60cm doll has three complete outfits, but he's been in his newest one since last year. I just like it so much I have no reason to change it. XD As for my yo-sd, he currently only has one outfit so he wears that everyday. I hope to get him some more clothes soon, though!

    6. Oh god, I don't change their clothes nearly enough. Sometimes they have the same ones on for years. But I guess since I only have a couple outfits each it makes sense.

    7. Not very often. Mostly, I leave them in white clothes. If I change them, it's only briefly for pictures.

    8. I try to change them at least twice a year. Just to keep their clothes fresh and clean. I try to give them at least two sets of clothing so they're not stuck with the same one all year long.

    9. Whenever I feel like it, honestly. Whether it be wanting a new outfit for a photoshoot, working on making something new, or just a whim. So it's been anywhere from a few days, to a couple of years (when I was taking a break from the hobby).

As for the amount of clothing, it depends on the size. The LTFs have a small handful, the Delfs even less, but the Minis have a large "community wardrobe" accumulated when Friends 2B Made was still in business, and located a short drive from my residence at that time. I ran a buying service, to get things with cheaper shipping, and that service (combined with the points card) allowed me to amass a particularly large selection of outfits for myself. So at least with those dolls, there's always something on hand for them to wear when a new one shows up, even if it's not 100% their style.

    10. It depends on the doll, and which one I'm currently focusing attention on most. I try to change them all least every month or two, but some get changed almost daily when I'm really working on them.

My minimum is 5 shirts, 3 pants, 2 underwear and 2 shoes per doll, but some have much more. At last count, Dhani had over 30 shirts and 12 pairs of pants. >.> I make a lot of my own dolls clothes, so that really helps with costs.

    11. I change them whenever I feel like it. Maybe once a month, or something? But I have a relatively small collection of five finished dolls (and one mod project) and a large wardrobe, since I enjoy making clothes for them.

I usually change them whenever I have to undress one to get measurements. And I usually make sure they look decent when I have a visitor coming over. At least if it is someone who cares about the dolls.
I also like variety and I like the idea of having complete wardrobes for them with clothes for most occasions that their characters would normally encounter. I am not quite there yet, but I'm working on it.

    12. The girls have far more wardrobe choices than the guys (kinda like real life in my house), and I can't even imagine how many pieces they have between them. It fills to overflowing a 3x3 drawer organizer.

How often they get changed depends on what I've been working on, but monthly is probably a safe average.

    13. I am pretty much the same. My doll dun have enough clothes to change . I have bought each of them a beaufiful expensive dress and thats all. And some of them dun have shoes :(
I wish i have money to buy a lot of clothes, for them to change every day.
And i am learning to make clothes for them. But have failed sadly. The clothe i made are too ugly for them to wear

    14. I don't have a set schedule really. I change my dolls' outfits whenever I feel like it, though some of my boys have been wearing the same outfit ever since I got them years ago (they're the kind of characters who aren't so concerned with fashion and would have smaller wardrobes anyway). Different story for a couple of my girls whom I end up changing their outfits, sometimes every week! I also write stories about the characters these dolls embody so I have intentionally dressed some of them "for the part" as some form of inspiration. As for how many clothes I have for them...well, collectively they're all contained in a 15-gallon rubber tote...and I can barely shut the lid nowadays. Oof. :doh

    15. I have a fair amount of peices for my doll, all hand made, so I change my dolls outfit quite often. Probably on /average/ about 3 times a week. I think that might also have to do with the fact that even though I made pretty much all the clothes I'm still not quite sure they suit the dolls personality. Guess I need to make more clothes.

    16. I change them all seasonally and when I finish a new outfit for someone. But I change their wigs all the time! I guess I actually change them several times a month. I like to add new accessories like jewelry and vests. I'm sewing all the time so someone's always getting something new. But I have several dolls that just sit there. Time to move them on!

    17. I have 17 BJDs and each one with their own style. I have every size (SD17, SD13, 50cm, MSDs, 35cm, Yo-SDs, faeries size, puki pukis) so it is almost impossible to say (I have never counted them) how many clothes they have =__= all I know is that my MSDs have more clothes and shoes than everyone else...so far I have like 6 big bags full of clothes just for them and I change their clothes when I'm going to take pictures....sometimes it is every week or every month. Not all at the same time of course but I make sure to take turns like 1 week for SDs, the other one for MSDs and the next one for Tinies and so on. I also collect other dolls like Dollfie Dreams, obitsu, azone and Isuls and they all have their clothes too so I always have a lot of work to do lol

    18. I have a lot of doll clothing. I like buying doll clothing much more than buying actual dolls. I think I have at least 10 outfits per size with the exception of YoSD, as I just received her a few weeks ago. (She has 3 outfits.) ♥ I tend to change their outfits every few months, unless I'm taking pictures. If I'm taking pictures of a doll, I often change her clothing a few times during the picture-taking, and then select an outfit for display.

    19. I always think about my dolls' wardrobe and try to choose cloth like for a real girl&boy c: so I change their cloth at least seasonally and whenever I want~ usually it is about once a 2-4 weeks maybe o.O

    20. Since Kimaeril isn't going anywhere soon he's sitting in the white bathrobe he was sent in. His clothes are all dark and I worry about staining so I don't plan on leaving him in them for more than a day, plus he only has 2 outfits.
