1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. I changed Fable a lot before I commissioned the pyjamas he has now - now I've not changed him since they came, though I'll occasionally put his hoodie over the top. I can see myself changing Hemlock a fair bit too, but with Fable he's quite comfortable in his favourite cosy nightwear (he's always in bed/in his room anyway so it makes sense).

    2. My goal is to have characters for each doll. I try to keep the clothes they're wearing like what I think that character would wear... This can be kind of hard, since I don't have that big a clothes collection yet. I've been practicing my sewing so I can have more choices, because I really like changing my dolls' clothes! I like to take pictures of them, and every time I take them out for photos I try to change up their outfits...

I try to keep wigs to a theme, so say one character has dark brown hair, so she has 3-4 wigs that are dark brown. They have the same eyes all the time.. But lately, my dolls have been changing a lot! I've been working on their faceups and everything. :3

I have a very busy job, though, so when it's crunch time at work I can't spend as much time with my dolls.

    3. I dress my dolls based on their individual character and style. Currently I don't change clothing very often, but plan to change them more in the near future. I have purchased many outfits, and want to take more pictures.

    4. My little sisters love to re-dress my boys, but I prefer to have them wear their "outfits" like they usually only wear like 1 outfit each and they have some stuff that they switch up from time to time.

    5. I redress Naya all the time. She only has a jacket (lol), but I take it off and on a lot because I'm worried about staining. Her new clothes are coming in soon and I can't wait to have some variety!

    6. I like making clothes for my dolls, so I change their outfits fairly frequently. They do have certain favorites, though.

    7. I change his clothes a few times because sometimes I don't have time :c

    8. Changing the outfits is the biggest part of having the dolls. I am a pattern maker by trade and I love designing and making new clothing for the dolls.

    9. How long do YOU usually keep your dolls in a specific character or outfit?
Well, tbh, I just bought a bunch of clothes so, I'm going to be changing them often since I can't handle the same outfit for more than a month :o

Do you dress in a character or favorite outfit and leave them alone...next to forever? or..
      Nope. Re-dress re-dress re-dress ! I keep the character the same though!!!

Do you change outfits OFTEN, but at the same time retaining the character? (keeping within the 'persona' you have chosen for your doll when selecting new outfits)
Yes. I can't change her character. That is up to her (:

Or does it even matter ~ and you just change characters/clothing randomly to suit your mood?
It truly just depends on my mood. I don't know man.. :o

    10. the problem is i have so many dolls
the downside is i used the money up on new dolls and seldom on clothes
so they often wear same clothes like forever....

    11. I love re-dress my dolls with different types of outfits. But, I've been so busy recently...
So, I have not enough time and seldom change their outfits although I love collecting outfits...

    12. I don't have enough clothes to change them that often... But if I had, I'd probably change them every now and then. All my dolls are and are gonna be characters, which I don't want to change, so I don't really mind them wearing same outfits all the time. The clothes need to fit to the character, and I might not always find much clothes that would definitely fit.

    13. Too many dolls, too few clothes! I will be very happy when I have made one medieval outfit for each. At that moment, all my dolls will have one modern and one medieval outfit and I will be able to change their clothes when I feel like it ;). Those of my dolls who do own more than one outfit do get changed from time to time, in any case.

    14. each of my dolls has a separate box filled with their clothes, so yeah... it's the best thing about the hobby - to forever re'dress them <3 tbh, i treat them more as fashion dolls in this regard ;)

    15. Never. My dolls are bald nudists who live in their boxes, poor things. I get them out and put on their wigs and clothes almost everyday though. My dolls never change their personas really. Though sometimes new details of their back story continue to evolve.

    16. One of my favorite things to do is dress my dolls. I tend to get bored looking at the same outfit everyday for a long period of time. Part of my expression of creativity in the hobby is how I dress my dolls and co-ordinate their overall looks. They usually have similar styles, just different pieces of clothing.

    17. I like to change my doll clothing regularly but keeping to girly girl things, i get bored so i like change :)

    18. My dolls are always the same character, but I usually change their clothes due to the change of seasons or just because I feel like I want to change them xD
I usually change their clothes once a week or when I want to do a certain gallery or photo-story with a certain outfit.

    19. I don't usually change their clothes much unless I get tired of it or I'm bringing them outside for a meet. Their eyes and wigs stay pretty much the same unless I bought something that would look even better on them.

    20. I haven't changed my doll's clothes in over a year lol. I think of them as decoration so I don't move them either. I like them all sitting on my bookshelf in my room. :)
