1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. All of my dolls stay as a specific character, regardless of what they're wearing. As far as how often I change them, it depends. I like to put my kids in new clothes, or different clothes, for meets. I hate having them wear the same thing that they wore for the last meet they went to. I change them when I get it in my head I need to do a photoshoot for one or another of them. I sometimes change them by the seasons. Certainly weeks go by between changings.

    2. I love changing my dolls outfits! I love handling the dolls and like how the resin feels. I have invested in some great outfits and coats so why not show them off :aheartbea

    3. How long do YOU usually keep your dolls in a specific character or outfit?
-Depends. My tastes change quickly, but since I'm broke all the time I can't buy them new clothes.

Do you dress in a character or favorite outfit and leave them alone...next to forever?
      -Yeah.

Do you change outfits OFTEN, but at the same time retaining the character? (keeping within the 'persona' you have chosen for your doll when selecting new outfits)
-Nope. I don't dress them often but their characters change often depending on my taste.

Or does it even matter ~ and you just change characters/clothing randomly to suit your mood?
      -Yes.

    4. I like to change their clothes once in a while. Their characters are pretty much "normal" people so they have normal clothes and I like to change it up. Although as much trouble as I had getting my MSD into the outfit she has on now, she might be like that for a while!

    5. Hehe, i redress mine almost everyday ^^; sometimes if ive run out of potions i let my minifee wear sooris huge tshirts as dresses and i sometimes let iku wear this sweatshirt. i think its fun to redress them and stuff, it makes me feel like there tiny, but real people ^^

    6. I redress when I feel the mood. Average time is every couple of days.

    7. Well dressing up is .. to be honest ^^" kind of playing for me..
So whenever i have time for my dolls, they NEED to change their clothes ^^""
if there is an outfit that fits just perfect i usually let them wear it a lil bit longer of course ;D <3

    8. I find myself re-dressing him alot. Mostly after attempts to make clothes or removing his clothes for what ever reason. Honestly, he only has 1 1/2 outfits so far, and I redress him every time he's in my hands.

    9. I don't change wigs that often. Someone won't have it changed at all.
      I don't change eyes usuallly.

About dress, something changes. I change them randomly. Usually the best time to change their clothes is when I bought (or sew) something new for them.Or when it takes to take new photos of them with old stuff, which I use to mix to create something new. :)

    10. Oooh. I never really thought about that! My alk tends to just stay wearing the same clothes all the time as they suit so well, but silt gets changed alot more, completely! She wears different eyes, wigs and clothes as she is a shapeshifer so the character definitely influences changing her look. My taco is new so he still needs a set outfit. I think once i get a particular outfit for my doll that i love, they dont change often. I hand-make some of their stuff so it also depends what i can craft, and what i have spare.

    11. I enjoy changing my dolls' outfits! They don't have very many, but when I am able to buy them new clothes, I like rotating the outfits they wear! xD Their wigs hardly change, and their eye color stays the same, unless I get new/better eyes for them!

    12. This really depends. I have some boys who've had the same look since I bought them, and others have had over 5 complete wig/eye/clothes makeovers. I have noticed that my MSDs get their clothes changed less. Sometimes I get a look that just seems perfect for the doll and have no desire to change it. Or some dolls just don't look good in a wider variety of styles. I have one guy who looks bad (to me) in any color wig other than white, for instance, while a few of my boys can wear nearly any color wig. Also, if I'm not satisfied with a doll, I have a tendency to change their look often. Finally, sometimes I plan a book based on a character (not an original character) and they stay dressed that way until I'm bored with the character.

    13. My dolls are characters I've created myself, so there is no set outfit for the character. I redress them often, actually, especially since I've discovered I like sewing them new outfits. C:

    14. I want to go with seasons, but I don't have a lot of clothes. Normally any new clothes I immediately get, I would make them wear it for weeks. So rarely do I change unless I keep getting new clothes.

    15. It varies. I have a few doll that I don't change often. Some that I do often. And they vary. Sometimes I will take a fancy of dressing up one of them and keep changing them and sometimes I will leave them for months.

I notice I tend to change girls more often.

    16. I don't change out Ed's or Kiddo's wigs and eyes because they're characters. They dress in normal clothes just as much as they do in their manga costumes, though.

The others are just themselves so they dress in whatever strikes our fancy.

    17. I change them randomly. Usually once I start changing one I start changing them all, like eating chips or something. ;)

    18. Honestly I don't really change my dolls around a lot. Mostly because of time, but also because it's not something that I enjoy as much as I used to. I also really enjoy making up stories about them and such (mostly just in my head haha) so they are largely personifications of my characters and are kind of static in their looks. I get most of my enjoyment out of just seeing them there. I repose them much more than I change their outfits.

I try to make all of my dolls clothes if I can so I'll make an outfit and they stay in it for a long time.

Their wigs and eyes I hardly change at all. Once they get their "set" they tend to stay in them. My first doll has a bunch of wigs, but he tends to wear the same ones now.

    19. I wanted a very specific look for my dolls and they became specific characters... so maybe a new wig here or there and definitely lots of clothes will be made for them (by yours truly) otherwise I want them to pretty much look the same.

    20. I redress my girls very often haha. They are my models!. But they will usually follow a theme together so they are matching mom and daughter hehe.
