Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. My dolls are always the same characters, so their eyes and wigs pretty much stay the same. But I do change their clothes quite often. it's part of the fun-factor in this hobby for me. But I also don't mind them sitting in the same clothes for a while.

    2. I probably redress them about every three weeks...? Something like that. I get them into an outfit I really love, then use them for drawing or photography for a while, I like looking at them in the same outfit. When I get inspired Ill redress them completely, from their wig to their shoes, add accessories.

    3. It depends how much time I have. I try to rotate their outfits every couple of weeks, or more if I'm looking to take a lot of photographs :)

    4. Depends on the doll. My main four get their outfits changed all the time. For the rest is may be weeks before I change their outfit especially if it is a look I really like.

    5. Neither doll has a set character outfit, but they still don't get changed that often. It's just not that high a priority (especially right now). If I get sick of seeing them in the same thing, I might change part of the outfit, but they can spend a month or two in the same thing.

    6. I'm too lazy to change their clothes frequently. Each doll ends up with at least two outfits, but I tend to keep them dressed in matching pairs. My two Pukifee dollies coming in will be permanently cosplaying, so probably will rarely get changed. :)

    7. I only have two dollies, ciel and Feliciana.
Ciel has a few outfits, but i don't change her too often... like, once every 3 weeks, unless i'm with guests. She has to look her best!
Feliciana came as a fullset. I havn't gotten around to buying her more outfits. :P

    8. Right now mine don't have a lot of clothes yet, so they pretty much stay dressed in one outfit most of the time. Once I get them more clothes though, I plan on changing their outfits more regularly.

But I wouldn't change wigs too often (unless it's the same color just different style with the exception of a few doll characters that I know I'll have who would wear outrageous hair colors all the time) - maybe never at all for some. And I don't change their eyes, because once their character is set, something like that is set too.

    9. I redress them once a month at least. More often if I'm not busy.

I change eyes a lot. I love changing eyes. I always want to buy more eyes too. xD

    10. My dolls will get re-dressed when I have the chance to sew them something new! Until then, they are stuck in the limited clothes that they already have.

    11. It depends on how much I am into them at the moment. Sometimes, I leave them alone for weeks and when the obsession is back, full force, so to speak (which is most o the time :D), I redress them every few days at least :) The girls get changed more often, than Finn ... which is probably because they share a HUGE box of clothes (handmade and bought) and he only has one pair of pants and three shirts atm :D I need to get off my butt to make more for him.

    12. It's really spur of the moment for me. The girls might sit for a month in the same outfit, but then I'll get a new outfit in, or suddenly decide I want to see a particular wig on one of them. Then the outfit doesn't match so I'll dig through my box and put something else on her. Oh, wait, that wig will stain her... *riflerifle* ahh, here... wait, that'd look better with this skirt *fidget*... so on and so forth until I feel I can leave them as is. Then another month might go by, or just a week. I never know. XD

But for cons I like to give the doll I bring with me a new outfit/wig daily. Doesn't always work out that way, but I attempt it at least. :)

    13. I change the clothes/wigs on mine a LOT. Not the eyes, though...too much of a pain.

    14. It depends for me. Sometimes they'll be wearing the same outfit for days/weeks or months. I usually keep eyes and wigs the same since I based my dolls off of my original characters. (I've tried changing wigs but I find that I just get amused half the time then change it back).

I find that I change my Iplehouse guy a lot. >_O Even if I don't have much for him at the moment, haha. My MSD has been in an outfit for months. I change my Lati guy every now and then.

    15. I redress my bigger dolls rather often, the longest period is a month or two maybe. And I HATE the process, but it's unavoidable, as I love to sew. I even bought a separate body for Cloud floating head because of that.
The hardest task is to properly dress them for a party because they have tons of clothes. They spend a lots of time naked or almost naked though.
My anthro dolls have only one costume for each doll, and I do not plan to redress them.

    16. I have a few dolls who have been in the same outfits since I first got them, and there are some other ones I'm compelled to change their outfits every other week. Some of those dolls I only have a single outfit each that clearly defines their character so they don't go through changes much. My MSD girl's character, on the other hand, loves dresses so naturally I have quite a few clothes for her.

    17. I don't change too often because I haven't yet built up much wardrobe for my guys... so Vince usually just stays in his favourite outfit (the shirt was bought and is super-fun-- pink, sparkly, and leopard print, it's very us! And though sometimes I put him in his jammies or in his nice pants, he usually wears the shorts my sister made for him-- they're special because they were a Christmas present and made with love, but also I think they're cute-- they remind me of a Square Enix character... the wide belled shape, and a couple of fun details. Plus, the fabric is light, so I don't worry about him staining if I leave him in them for a long time)

Maurice doesn't get much opportunity to wear anything, being a floating head (though he did steal Vince's body for one doll meet, and wore Vince's first Hallowe'en outfit), but he's borrowed a couple wigs, and finally got the right eyes, and I just got the fabric for his Hallowe'en mask for this year!

Pete has worn just his pyjamas since I finished making them, because I can't leave him in his darker shirt 'til I get him sprayed, and because... jammies are the one thing I can make?

My tiny changes the most. (because I've made him a second pair of pyjama pants? Seriously, though, he has his full set of jammies, a pair of pyjama pants that match Vince's Christmas jammies, a white underwear-type garment to wear for modesty's sake when he's rocking his cherubic little wings, and a Ken outfit)

Only Vince and Billy have shoes, one pair each. Maurice doesn't need them, and I just haven't found the right pair for Pete yet (plus, he's one of the new boys-- I was lucky enough to be able to order Billy's perfect shoes when I ordered Billy-- okay, technically you could say Billy has two pairs of shoes, but one of them is Billy's, the other is a pair I bought before I had plans for a tiny, because they were kitty shoes. It is not in his character to wear them, but the nice thing about tinies is you can dress them cutely for either gender and have it work out pretty well)

As I have time to get more sewing done, they'll get redressed more often-- I certainly have enough fabric to make quite a lot for them! I've got most of what I need for Pete's regular outfit, but I might wind up changing him back into the pyjamas frequently because the side of the fabric that touches his 'skin' isn't really coloured, and again, I like not worrying about stains (especially with that beauty white skin!)

      =^__^=

    18. I keep redressing Gabriella all the time, but thats also cause I cant find her real character. She isnt happy with my clothing choices yet haha

    19. Eh, no, lol. All my girls have one outfit set which they wear all the time. I have some random clothes laying around, for photoshoots and such, but basically they wear the same thing until I buy them something new to wear xD Which doesn't happen often when I have found the right look for them.

    20. I redress them all every couple of months, but I have 5 now so it's a bit of a chore lol I dress them seasonally.
