Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Do You ReDress Often...or Leave Them Alone?

Nov 26, 2009

    1. I used to be afraid of clothes staining the resin so I left them naked and dressed them only for pictures, LOL. But I realize that that kinda defeats the purpose of owning dolls cause you're supposed to dress them up and play with them -.- Now I dress them and they stay that way for a week... unless I get bored of their look. It depends on the doll because sometimes I'll be really happy with their look and won't change their outfit for weeks. xD And sometimes I'll be too lazy to change them because their outfit is so fiddly and whatnot. ^^"

    2. I redress often for 2 reasons: 1) certain clothes (no matter how much you wash them) can stain resin and 2) I don't like seeing my resin kids in the same outfit for long periods of time.

    3. If I have a new outfit specifically for them, I re-dress. Otherwise, they wear the same clothes. Overall I'm happy with their looks (and so are they) so not much tweaking is needed.

    4. Well, my minifees are set, they have their outfits and they don't change very often, and if they do they stay in character. My pukifees are really terrible. They always want new clothes and are never satisfied. They have phases; raver phase, girly phase, punk phase, it's bad news for my wallet. My realpuki is naked though and never wears clothes, not because he doesn't have any, but because it's in his nature to be pesky and nekkid. My chicline, well, she changes her clothes almost every day, we're working up a serious wardrobe over here. But you know, she's a model, she can't be seen in the same clothes twice! *gasp* lol

Oh yeah, My name's Xhanthi and I'm a Fairyland addict >.<

    5. It depends on my mood XD....
I have a big crew to attend to .
So they go by taking turns, approximately 2weeks per outfit?
Sometimes there might be delay as I may not have the time to do so.

    6. My get changed often, several times a week. If I work a stretch of days, they get put in non staining clothes, wigs off and stay in a doll trunk.

    7. If I had more than two outfits total for my doll, I'd probably redress her far more often. :sweat I do have many wigs, however, and I change those with great frequency. My doll's character won't be complete until I redo her face-up, so her minute wardrobe is not and issue yet.

    8. My girls have there set-up that they stay in always. I only change them up when I sew a new outfit. I try it on and take pictures and then, back to the clothes that they keep on regularly. :)

    9. I love redressing my boy. That's one of the main reasons I got him in the first place, ehe. x'D I never change his hair or his eyes. However in the future I might buy him a wig or two just for him to wear, but it would be like "him wearing a wig" versus his usual wig is just his normal hair. :sweatI do change his outfit frequently though. Both of us enjoy this. x'D If I really like a particular outfit a lot though, I might leave it on for a bit though, but besides that, I mean, I'll even change him every day or every other day.

    10. I redress mine often. It takes longer, but I prefer to store them without wigs or clothing. Also, I get really bored if a doll is in the same outfit all the time!

    11. Emily is always changing clothing, manly because I'm still figuring her out. I know she will have her blond hair, but her clothing is always changing. I don't like her going out in the same thing twice. Then again I do sew a lot for her. Shin on the other hand has not had a change in his clothing yet, but then again he only has one outfit. I would like to have lots of clothing and wigs in their correct hair colors. Their eyes would be the only thing that would stay the same, other then Emily who has her frosted eyes for when she's doing 'magic'.

    12. At first I would change their outfits almost everyday, but now I change them weekly. My DD is an exception though, because she can stain so easily I change her outfits often.

    13. Most of my dolls have a set wardrobe--one "default" outfit and several alternates. I usually leave them in their default outfit unless I'm doing pictures or taking them to meets and want a different look for them. Of course, when I need to clean their clothes, I put them in something else from their personal closet.

Chaeri is the clothes horse. She has more clothes than I do, and she usually changes once or twice a day. She's the one with the numerous wigs, though she usually ends up in some form of pink.

    14. I redress my dolls when they have a new outfit, or when we go to the meetup. Despite of having loths of clothes they spend the rest of the time in the same clothes they were put in. I'm too lazy to redress them often...

    15. I have a ton of wigs in order to find a doll's specific look. Once they find a wig I usually don't change it unless there's a specific reason to.

Their clothes - I change constantly! To me, aside from faceupping, changing their clothes is the most fun part of owning them!

    16. Hmm. I see myself sticking with one eye color, once I find the perfect one, but everything else about my doll will probably change as often as I play with her. Wigs not as much as clothes, since they're more expensive and I'd have to buy more, but I fully intend to sew a lot of clothes for her, so she'll constantly be changing and getting undressed for fittings, showing off a new outfit, etc.

    17. Demetri has been in the same outfit for a few weeks lol;; Same with Mihr since he got home. When i buy them new outfits i'll change them into those and they'll stay in those for a while. :)

    18. My dolls (minus my newest, Junie) have been in the same clothes for WEEKS. And not because I don't want to change them but because I just like how they look in their outfits. I have ordered them all something new this month, so I'll be changing them in the next couple weeks. But, basically, if I find an outfit that is THEM, I keep them in it for a long while. It's only when I'm unsatisfied with their look or get new clothes that I find myself changing and changing them. They have pretty set styles. So, when something clicks, I like it to linger. XD

    19. I love changing outfits! I would never keep my dolls in one set of clothes all the time. Wouldn't that get boring? But I don't have nearly enough clothes to redress everyday. Need to sew more.

    20. I have a problem NOT changing their clothes. I get them in the perfect outfit and say "Yes! You need a photo shoot looking like that!" Problem is between school and Texas heat or running around the house, I rarely get to take pictures anymore, so I quickly get the compulsion to change them. I just love dressing them. I think between that and taking pictures there's nothing more relaxing. I think I change them at least once a week. And When I say change, I mean clothes, shoes, jewelry, wigs. Everything but eyes.
