1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you save up or purchase a doll because its cheap?

Oct 23, 2011

    1. Till now...I seem to be a sucker for event/extra goods, but that won't stop me from saving up for a more expensive doll that doesn't have any extras, but it might move lower in my dollwishlist. I am a little careful with prices, but as said, if I really love a specific doll, price won't stop me from putting it in my dollwishlist and get it someday ^u^

    2. I bought my first (and currently only) doll as a combination of B and C. What I mean by this is my first doll (here on called by her name: Farren) was one that I spent months looking for on the internet. When i first saw here I liked her but she wasn't perfect, she was far Sooms limited monthly doll Amber that i had fallen in love with but she was the only other hoved larger female I had found. Farren is actually the head of one Reasinsoul doll on the body of another. The images on the site were poor the face-ups they showed were anything but what i wanted for her. But i bought her any way because i could actually afford her and she wasn't long since sold out like Sooms Amber(I wasn't even into the hobby yet when she was avail be)

Even though I bought Farren cause she was cheap she still was a doll on my wish list simply because she's a fantasy doll.

    3. I "succumb" to deals/"cheap" finds in an articulated, thoughtful way.

A.) it comes with an extra doll/doll parts as part of a manufacturers special or

I just placed an order with Doll Chateau earlier than intended, to catch their winter event (an adorably quirky tiny doll for $50). But, see, I was planning on buying their conjoined twins body, which was enough to qualify for the event, and I was going to buy that ANYWAY, so--I put the body on layaway sooner than I originally intended, and got a deal on a little doll I really admire.

B.) do you save up for that specific doll on your wishlist

All the dolls I go after are on my wish list, with the exception of DC's twins (when I saw the new doll thread with them, it was love at first sight--BUT, that said, I didn't jump and order them right away; I thought about them, constructed characters, and added them to my list).

C.) do you buy it because its a really good price even though you have dolls on your wishlist

Again, the dolls I find/buy at good prices (mostly in the second-hand department) are ones already ON my wish list--so, I'll buy dolls sooner than originally anticipated, so that I can get the better deal on a doll that I'm going to be shelling out eventually anyway.

It's worked just fine for me so far. :)
