1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you Sleep with your doll? Is it Weird?

Oct 27, 2016

    1. This is actually really sweet! :whee:

    2. I've thought about it but I'm a rough sleeper so she'd probably end up on the floor. :aeyepop:

    3. I don’t think my husband would be all that impressed

    4. I did my first few nights of college - I tucked her up in the top corner where I couldn't fling her when I moved during the night & stuck a pillow between us as a barricade jic lol

Other than that, no. They now have their own room tho :sweat

    5. Nope, but they're all chilling in my room when they're not being customized. The bed is for plushies, which I have a LOT of...

    6. I've struggled with insomnia most of my life, so it's hard for me to fall asleep without my husband next to me. That being said, if I'm traveling to visit family on my own for up to a week, I'll take a doll with me to help me sleep (usually Jaeda, my Sist/Mnf hybrid). I rarely move around in my sleep and usually have her a foot or so away from me. Without her, I'd go days without sleep.

    8. Ever since I got my grail doll in 2016 (on my photo), I always sleep with him. Never had any problem. He is 72 cm and so heavy and has pointy ears, so sometimes i awake for a little pain LOL but totally worth it.

    9. To keep the doll even more safe you can put it in its own bed like I don't know one of those baby crib things next to your bed with the door open. Do the cribs have doors? To answer your question I don't sleep with my dolls like i would a stuffed plush. I thought about it because I didn't know how resin smells and how it's hard. I thought it would bring me comfort like a stuffed toy while asleep, but it's too expensive to have it with me, it's face up can get ruined, I would think it would mellow faster (not sure), it will fall off the bed because I move in my sleep (I've gotten better at not moving), I tend to push things off my bed in my sleep, I am accident prone I might hurt myself, and my dogs will most definitely if given the chance chew on it. I'm so accident prone my sister wants to put those baby protecting cushioning things around our home. I keep slamming my hands into the walls and doors. I already bumped into the laundry door a few times. When I sleep I sometimes accidentally punch my own nose when trying to adjust my comforter and gave myself a nose bleed. That is how clumsy I am. If there is a 75 cm doll on my bed i might somehow really accidentally hurt myself. I was swinging my plush by its limbs before (because I oddly find it comforting) and smacked myself so many times in the face by accident.

Now I have a pile of dogs sleeping on me, so i don't sleep with a stuffed plushie anymore because they like to do things to my plush toys besides chewing on it. Now my plush toys have retired to be just looked at instead of sleep in bed with me. I can't even use my plush toys as pillows because my dogs take then to do things to them.

    10. I don't sleep with my dolls, I think they are too delicate for that, I usually keep them in cabinets.

    11. Only once, on accident. I think it was when I was sick one time and pretty much spent all day in bed, but I'd dragged myself out to grab a doll and some knitting. Fell asleep that evening, woke up the next morning with the horrible realization both were still in bed with me! Thankfully the doll was a bit away, but the knitting was a mess.

Other than that, no. I don't want to risk breaking the doll or hurting myself.

    12. The only time I’ve done this was when my husband was out of town cause I didn’t want to sleep alone LOL

    13. If it wasn't for a neighbor (flooding my room), all my dolls would have been up a high shelf that I had set up for them. They now sit at my head and side of me at night on slim shelving. I can't have them sit on their furniture/my computer desk like when I first got in the hobby because I now have a dog and no longer have a desk. All my windows have UV filters on them due to my own allergy so leaving them in the open isn't a huge issue for me anymore especially with the UV Superclear on the dolls. So they tend to just yellow with time now compared to when I didn't use it.
Though I can't say I've never fell asleep with any in my bed beside me because I have and they where always on my partners side of the bed while hand sewing stuff for them. I'm not worried about them because I tend to not move at all when I sleep.

    14. it was in 2018 when I first got into the hobby. I bought my first doll. For two days she slept next to me))), I didn’t let go of her, I really liked her .... I think this is normal))

    15. I don't think it's weird.
I've slept with 1/4 and 1/3 size on the other side of a double bed when I'm at my parents' place because there's nowhere else to put them.
Sometimes I'll also just watch a movie with a bjd sitting in my lap or beside me. Resin is oddly comforting.

    16. Not weird. It's just a preference. I personally don't do it because I view/prefer dolls that are more art form dolls then regular ones.

    17. I think that sounds absolutely adorable having your doll share the bed with you ^^
For me though I'd be too afraid to roll over in my sleep and push my doll off the bed, as I do often toss and turn a lot in my sleep.

    18. I do have one or two on my bed from time to time, but it isn't a regular or routine thing. When I'm not doing well I tend to enjoy the company. My dolls are already on either side of my bed in a fairly small room, so they're always nearby to begin with. I have trouble sleeping in a room without them now :sweat

    19. I'm a big fan of doll nightstand occupation and not such a big fan of accidentally drooling on my doll while snapping off their fingers.

    20. I’ve been sleeping with the same stuffed cow for 19 years. I can’t imagine him being keen on sharing LOL
