1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you take along your dolls on holiday?

Jun 8, 2014

    1. I'm going to Florida next month to visit friends, and I've already told them that I'm bringing a doll with me. After all, a couple of them are bringing support animals, why can't I bring my "support doll?" ;)

I'm used to having Ryuichi (Luts/CP Delf Shiwoo, 60cm) sitting on top of whatever shoulder bag I'm carrying at the time, so he shouldn't get too heavy. I think I'll get a new messenger bag for this trip. :kitty1

    2. I've taken to bringing my smaller sized dolls (MNFs and one pet doll) with me on business trips over the last few months. They're lucky they get to go because they're small and we've visited a number of doll shops in the region (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand)! It's so much fun and I love posting stories of my trips on Instagram~ :whee:

On the other hand, I've moved countries with my bigger dolls before and have transported a 70cm Dollshe, a Delf and a IH EID Woman (though she was unstrung) from Australia to Singapore. I'll also be going on a BJD holiday with a few friends in a few weeks and am planning to bring one of my 70cm boys with me. Wish me luck~ :XD:

    3. The whole reason I got a puki was so I could comfortably travel with a doll. I'll also be visiting FL soon with them!

    4. I don't travel much these days, but if I were to do so, Chaeri would be going right along with me.

    5. Since I hate to take selfies it might be worth wile to take a doll to photograph when I travel, but to tell you the truth I haven’t yet. I usually travel for work, so that is one reason why. And I haven’t even taken out dolls to the park or out of my garden yet, so I might need to get over that treshold first

    6. I'm considering a small enough doll to take with me on travels, I am a bit jealous of photos shot at holiday destinations with dolls. But I'm sure I'd be too worried about it getting damaged so I don't know if I'm actually going to do this.

    7. I'm getting my first doll soon, but I'll probably take him along with me! I'd love to take photos of him at vacation destinations!! ^^

    8. My messenger bag came, so I tried to put Shuichi (60cm Delf Elf Chiwoo, who's currently not wearing skin-tight leather pants:wiggle) in the bag. He fit in just fine! That means my usual travel buddy Ryuichi, is definitely going with me to Florida! I can even put in a few extra outfits, and well-packaged swag that I might pick up while I'm there. He's going to replace me in the pics I take. I don't like taking selfies.

I'm also hoping to enable some of my friends with him. I'll be trying all week, not only when I take him out for pics, but just playing with him in general. It'll be fun to have at least one of my friends enabled. :eusa_pray Wish me luck!

I can't wait! Florida, here I come! :XD:

    9. I've got one off topic dolls living permanently in my bag for impromptu photoshoots, and I try to always bring a bjd when I go away from home. I have nowhere nice to take pictures at home, holidays are my best chance! I mostly take my yo-sd sized dolls though, since they're the easiest ones to carry around. I own some MSD, but even that medium size is quickly a bother when you're walking or visiting museums...

    10. Most of mine are big SDs, so it’d be a nightmare. I do have a little yosd I bought on a whim, and he’s been on holiday & been photographed on the beach!

    11. My goal is to be able to take my doll on all vacations and take pictures of her in new locations!

    12. Welp, I did take Ryuichi with me to Florida, but this was the only pic I took of him. I took plenty of pics without him, so it was all good.

I think the next time I go on vacation, I'll go with BJD friends. Its better to go with people that understand why I take a doll with me when I travel! :sweat

    13. I tend to take my bigger, more expensive dolls with me if I'm traveling and leaving our house unoccupied, i.e. visiting family for the holidays. I just feel better knowing I have them. This has always excluded plane travel because, usually, I'm doing that it's alone for a business trip or the like, so I have never had to deal with that. I don't think I would go through the trouble of it.
