1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you take along your dolls on holiday?

Jun 8, 2014

    1. Yes, especially when I plan to go places with great environment.
It may be a bit troublesome in the airport and on plane. It worth the effort!

    2. I've taken dolls on vacation. Only MSD's and tinies just due to size restrictions. Haniel (Cherish Chubby Demon) came with me to the Bahamas.

I've also brought an MSD and 2 tinies with me to Colorado although, funny enough, the only pictures I got of them was at the airport as I was waiting for my flight home *laughs*. I've also brought... 3 MSD's and a tiny went I went to visit my mom, which required a 2 hour train ride.

I'm going to the Dollism con in September in Buffalo and I'm STILL undecided who's coming with me on that adventure (I have 24 to choose from *laughs*). I'd love to bring my big boys, but the idea of riding on public transit for an hour and then on another train for 3 hours while juggling my luggage, purse and big doll bags holding 14lbs or so of resin... it doesn't thrill me much.

    3. I do but not every time. I took Ren (SD size) and Fayy (MSD size) to a lake and mountains once, then sometime to park, garden, etc... And this summer vacation I'm going to take Ren to Thailand with me for a trip. (^v^) Anyway, I'm also afraid that they will yellow or get damage during transporting. So I have to prepare well, especially my arm's power!!! 'Cause they are heavy...

    4. I haven't yet, but I definitely want to :) It would depend on where I go though. If it's somewhere scenic, then I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity for amazing pictures! XD I wouldn't bring more than one doll though, and no more than a couple outfits.

    5. Yes, I do! I collect the tinies so they easily fit into an eyeglass case in my handbag. I can fit one pukipuki or 2 realpukis ;-}

    6. Depends on the location. I visit my relatives for Christmas, and I bring my dolls there, but I don't really bring them on vacations or overseas.

    7. I'm planning on taking them on a trip in my own province first to see how it goes before I take them anywhere really far away. >.<
I'm actually taking one of mine on a trip in August to see my big sister since she likes BJDs so much but has never seen one up close! :D

    8. I like to take a tiny or two with me when I go out traveling. It's nice to get some pictures with a change of scenery once in a while. :)

    9. Hmm, I think I would like to, someday! So far I've only ever taken him with me when studying abroad, and back and forth from school... But those are only when I'm going to be somewhere for an extended period of time. I did take him along with me on a trip after my study abroad term ended, buttt that was more of a necessity thing than anything else. He stayed in his pillow bag thing the entire time...

I think I would like to take pictures of him in another place someday, though! I think it might be fun :)

    10. I've taken my Minifee to family gatherings before, my grandma and little cousin were fascinated by her! That's only 2 hours away by car though, I wouldn't take a MSD on a flight anywhere. I do plan on getting a Pukipuki at the end of the summer and that will definitely come with me when I fly to Florida for Thanksgiving. I would feel much safer taking a tiny on board in a backpack than having an MSD in its own separate case!

    11. I wouldn't take a doll on holiday with me, although it would be nice for pictures and stuff.
But I have the tendency to take along too many stuff already.... and I don't like stuffing one in a small backpack between lots of stuff. Or have a doll in a backpack for a whole day in very warm weather whilst visiting foreign culture.
And leaving one behind in a hotel room :shudder oh please no

    12. I'm going on a trip by car, so my boy is definitely coming ^-^

    13. Hmm I haven't technically brought my dolls with me for holidays (but then again, I haven't traveled anywhere since they've been in my possession). I guess technically flying home to the next province over counts, but he's a tiny and fits in a glasses case so easily protected. I haven't brought my SD boy anywhere aside from conventions, my friends houses, meet ups or the movie theatre.
The only time he air traveled was to the US with my friend who was visiting her mom, and was bringing dolls with her since they both share the hobby. My boy and one of hers are a couple, and her mum wanted to meet them. They pierced his eyes and separated his big toes for me so he can wear his geta sandals now :)

    14. I have, but not everywhere. I took one to Canada (drove), and I've taken a few to Texas (flew). I even organized a doll meet-up in Texas once, and was lucky enough to attend another! But I didn't take any to an in-law's wedding. I figure if it's a vacation where I can do what I want, I'll want to see some dolls if possible!

    15. Nope, I haven't had a vacation because I had to buy them! :P Actually just because right now I can't go away. Way too much going on on the home front. My Dad has been sick and I'm taking care of him and not feeling too hot myself. So really I'm not up to going anyplace even if my wallet could afford that right now. I'd love to go somewhere cold for the rest of the Summer actually. It's broiling here and I just hate Summer heat and all that...

    16. I wouldn't bring them on a vacation but I'd take them on trips. I'd maybe take the smaller ones on vacation but I'd be cautious.

    17. Yep. Miss Fior is going to Florida with me this summer!

    18. I have taken my dolls on smaller vacation a few times when I knew the doll wouldn't get in the way or if I knew there would be photo opportunities.

    19. If I had smaller dolls, I'd definitely take at least one with me. I mean, think of all the interesting photo opportunities!
Unfortunately, I've only got SD sized dolls at the moment, and traveling with them would be too much of a hassle.

    20. I wish, but I have 60-cm-ish dolls and am usually traveling with a much more important child! :) And I hate dealing with extra luggage, so it's unlikely to happen anytime soon.
