It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. I noticed some company have limited dolls with special skin type or unhuman(elf or else), I reeeealy think they could launch the unlimited type for the limited doll.

    2. Hmmm I think a short re-release during say like an event would be nice, especially if the doll was popular

    3. Yes, they should make more, but again in limited amount. I understand that limitedness increases value and stuff, and i dont mean that they should make them regular sale, but just a few more, please? I do own a limited one myself (Luts SDF Azure), and would not be upset if they made more of them (again, a limited amount)

Also, interesting to see the voting distribution

    4. I don't own any limited dolls, but I don't think the companies should restock their limited dolls. I kind of agree with the fact that they will lose value and be unfair for people who previously forked out a lot of money for said limited doll.

    5. I have a limited doll and I have some that are not- I like it best when there is a limited edition of the doll (special wig, make-up, outfit, etc) but also one in the line that is not limited- so the sculpt is available for a long time. I have actually bought a limited doll (full package) for display only and then bought the same doll as a basic to play with.

    6. I'm a bit conflicted in my view on this.
I don't know much about other companies, but I know with Fairyland they do release event heads, and they have limited fullsets. So far as I know they've never re-released either of these.

When I joine the hobby I wanted a Juri 08 Minifee the most, but as an event head I knew I had to get her second-hand.
I guess in the years past there have been attempts to get Fairyland to release Juri 08 as a regular mold, but either the orignal mold was lost or the company just refused.

When I didn't have her I probably would have said that they should re-release her, but that was because of my desire to have her. Now that I do have her part of me feels like they shouldn't re-release her, and part of me feels like they should because I can still sympathize will all those who are seeking their own Juris.
I think it would be ok if they released a version with regular human ears so that the originals maintained the status of being limited, while still allowing the company to make a profit on a popular doll, and allowing those who really want her a chance to get at least a version of her.

So I guess my vote is ultimately no. I don't think it's fair for a company to call something "limited" and then re-release the exact same thing down the road. Calling something "limited" is in itself a promise not to release it again in my books.

    7. You can't really call it a limited doll and if you go on to produce more. I don't currently own any limited and there's a lot I would of liked but being new collector missed out. As much I'd like a limited doll, it would be unfair to produce more. They could increase the amount of a limited doll to allow people a better chance but the whole idea around limited editions are the special feeling around them.
I care more about a steady stream of unlimited dolls for fans of the company who don't want to worry about catching a limited. It really sucks to go to a company website and find all/most of their dolls are out of stock. :(
I also don't mind the idea of a limited being a basic doll in a special skintone/ alernative outfit set.

    8. I wish that the company would re-release or sell LE doll more but...as the same said "Limited" that meant, they had few numbers and re-release probability was small . It would be good, if they just would release the same doll but in other version (like Volks and other company did). Dolls that were re-released time to time I don't think they were really LE dolls. They could be like dolls which would be sold only some special periods like IOS dolls which gave me a hope to order them again in the future unless the mold was already discontinued. ;)

    9. I do think doll companies should restock limited editions. However, I don't mean sell them on a regular basis. I believe limited editions should be re-released at least one more time and twice at most. The doll, at that point, would still be special. The whole concept of "limited" is still in its boundaries with a re-release once or twice; but if it is sold as a basic edition, it is like the special idea of "limited" is lost. Even if they never get re-released, I understand why; I got to admit that it is rather frustrating though. On a side note, I think companies should definitely sell basic editions that have special qualities to them (for the dolls it may apply to). Take Soom for example; it would be fabulous if they could release some, not even that many, basic dolls with fantasy parts!

    10. There is no problem with any artist deciding to reprint a limited/numbered print really. This just makes the number rice accordingly, and if there is not enough competition for them later on the only thing that suffers is the secondhand market that is hardly the original artist's concern. I'm completely fine with companies rereleasing sculpts (or not). Ultimately it's their own choice. I know I'd be overjoyed if that one company decided to resell their old limited sculpt which happens to be my ultimate grail doll because it's different than most people's in that no one has or sells him anywhere...

    11. i do not think they should restock. i own a LE30 of one doll and i have a LE50 on the way. it makes the doll worth the money i paid.. id be pretty mad if they restocked it for less.. it also makes my doll less awesome:P
the LE30 doll i have has many other molds and full set that are different.. that im ok with.. but once my girl is sold out.. i do not want to see her fullset up again. to me its kinda cool to own something that only 30 other fullset are ever sold in the world. i love her to bits and would have got her LE or not.. she fit what i was looking for. but still kinda cool she is limit.. and being new to the hobby, i guess its cool for me!

    12. I own one limited doll and have one on layaway. Honestly, I would love it if they weren't limited or it would be a relief if I knew they would release them again. I wouldn't feel like I had to get it: now now now! I could have waited a few months when I would have been in better shape.

I don't really care if my dolls are limited edition anyway. I get them because I like them.

    13. I don't own a limited doll, but I don't know if I am ok with re-releases. If they're going to re-release them they really aren't a limited or at least not as limited as one would be lead to believe.
I think it bothers me less if a doll was re-released with a different fullset or something like that.

    14. I feel strangely about limited dolls being re-released as, like what others have already mentioned, it kind of goes against what 'limited' means. Though saying that I'm not against the sculpt being re-released maybe at least one more time in the future as this gives one last chance for people to get it if they missed out the first time.

    15. I think some people tend to confuse "limited" with "one time only". To me, limited does not automatically mean that it's only going to be released once. Just that it's not available on a continual basis. There are limits to the availability, in other words. So yes, I am okay with limited dolls being re-released now and then. And no, I don't own a limited doll and that's not likely to change anywhere in the near future.

    16. I think instead of doing limited dolls, maybe companies should do a limited ordering period which they will reopen depending on how they want or maybe have each ordering period be released with a different full set outfit or part to make it special. In other words, I personally wouldn't mind if limited dolls were re-released. I don't own any nor have I ever wanted limited dolls because none has fit any of the characters I wanted to shell. I just know I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of found-the-perfect-doll-for-my-character-but-it-was-limited and I'd rather buy from the company than the second hand market because of trust/damage/money for original artist/supporting the hobby/etc.

    17. I understand what you mean as I have several limited dolls. My Crobi DD Lance is one of 25, my Yujin probably one of less than twenty as Crobi only sold them for less than a week, unlike the LE50 white skin version. My Withdoll Fenrir is also a limited release I believe to 50 or 75 but I can't recall, my Feeple Rin one of 68 (although Fairyland only does limited fullsets) and so on so forth. At the same time, I do not really mind if the dolls are released again later. The number of their copy makes them special anyway (my Yujin is 7 for example, so he's one of the first ten of him to be made!). So no matter how many times they're rereleased they still hold their value as a "first edition".

    18. I'm in the minority here. I own a limited sculpt, yet I would love for some companies to re release dolls. Especially Volks Lieselotte :D.

    19. Most of my dolls (something like 30/35 or something) are limited editions. Still though, I must say that I do not mind companies re-releasing them. I actually feel pretty lonely when there are VERY few of a sculpt I own, especially because it's so hard to notice it // search for it, so not a lot of people look for them.

And it's not only that, but I ~know~ how hard it is when you want a doll and it's a sold out LE...and you just really love that doll that it becomes your grail and you look for it everywhere, all the time. So re-releases really help with this to some extend. They still remain limited anyway, even if they're not LE20 or LE50 and are thus LE100 or LE200. Doesn't matter really. They're still limited and while it'll surely be easier to find on the MP, they'll most likely still hold some value.

Also, one more thing, I do not see my dolls as an investement. The only dolls that trully hold their value are Minifees and Feeple60s right now. Some Volks too, but you can't even be sure which ones, because not all of them do hold their value // can be sold for more than the company did. So if someone really sees this hobby as an investement, they should just collect Minifees or F60s to be sure that their doll will be able to be sold for company-price.

    20. I think a re-release would be okay only if it was something the company stated at the time of the first release. I think stating something like "This limited edition will only be released one week a year in limited numbers."
