It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you trust your doll to stand?

Jul 20, 2016

    1. Not without support! I don't want any chips or broken noses. Sitting on a soft surface is ideal. I don't like stands.

    2. Not at all... mainly because my only dolls with bodies are either a mirodoll girl (strung waay to loosely, I haven't gotten around to restringing) and a DC Queena whose feet are much too small for her body haha

    3. No way. I learned my lesson when I left my doll standing and she fell over and got a little blemish on her cheek. It came off when I used a magic eraser, but it definitely spooked me.

    4. Yes and no.
I only trust my doll to stand if I've spent a decent amount of time ensuring the balance is fairly solid. But its always in the back of my mind that they might fall.
Hazuki in particular is pretty good for standing but the rest can be somewhat frustrating and finicky.
I've left Hazuki standing at my home workstation for a few days before with no issues.
...Maybe I trust her a little too much haha.

    5. A couple of my dolls I always leave standing either against the wall or in an enclosed display case where there's not much to fall before hitting a wall. Other ones either don't have legs (mermaid) or have subpar engineering. So they have a stand or sit all the time

    6. So far, the only one I really trust to stand is my Feeple60 Erda. He balances super easily and stands like a freakin' rOCK. No joke, he can stand on one leg! (Though I don't really trust him on one leg...but that's more about my paranoia than his ability, I think)

My SD10 boy stands really solidly as long as he's in certain shoes. I think the main problem with him is that his feet are just too dainty. Wearing slightly larger than needed boots solves the problem.

Aside from that, I have a Dikadoll boy on their original 73cm body. His hips etc make it seem like he should be able to stand well, but...I can't say I trust him. He's too tall and gangly, and his balance is pretty delicate as a result. It doesn't take much to send him over. But if he's got a little something to lean against, he holds great poses!

And then I have a Rosenlied Holiday's Child. She doesn't stand super well. A combination of Actual Ball Joints and itty bitty feet makes her balance really touch and go. :sweat

    7. Not really, I got many Dollzone dolls. It's really hard for them to stand by themeself, so all of my dolls have a stand to support them. It's rally works and if you don't hit the table, they will be all fine.

    8. I got traumatized with my very first BJD many years ago. I had this stupid mindset that things like breaking off would never happen to me and then my SD girl fell and off flew one of her fingers,. ever since that day I have never trusted any doll to stand on their own. small bumps in the floor can cause stupid damage :XD: I also had a smool heart attack a few months ago when I accidentally dropped my MSD girl on the floor and flashback of the flying finger came back.

I wish dollstands would be more of a thing to buy. I know that you can buy standard looking ones but I wouldn´t mind some more artistic designer looking stands as well.

    9. Yes, my two Pukifees always stand, but I cheat a bit: Since they have magnets in their feet, they stand on a very thin metal plate that is hidden under a small carpet. Works even when wearing thick-soled boots:).

    11. I only have one doll I really trust to stand on her own (my hybrid on a Loongsoul body). I'd love to have them all out on display, but both due to a lack of space and the cats I prefer to keep them in their boxes. I am looking into stands for my YOSD girls though, so hopefully with a stand I'll be less concerned...

    12. Not at all, when I got my first doll, a Doll Leaves Betty, I stood her up by herself on my dresser. I turned around for a second to grab my phone for a picture, and she had fallen into the floor! Luckily she wasn’t damaged, but I never want to take that chance again so I always use a doll stand.

    13. Only if I'm there and in catching distance. I currently keep him sitting on various bits of furniture.

    14. Thank you, but it’s no idea of mine, I found this advice somewhere on this forum.

    15. Thank you for this thread! Answers a lot of my questions. A lot of my dolls are sitting and I can't stand it. (see what I did there...)

    16. My msd girl decided she didn't want to stand so intensely that last night she flipped forward on her knees and her head ended up in my lap. I think I need to tighten her elastic and suede her, as her body was a project body I bought second hand so it's got some damage making the joints a little awkward. I'm looking into getting stands to support my tinies since they're so light and easy to go flying, so I'll probably just grab my msd girl one as well.

    17. My Pukipuki is pretty trustworthy with standing, my other two are definitely not except for short periods to take a picture with me in catching distance

    18. Ahaha nope. I've had too many dolls take nose dives to the floor. I've had dolls I thought were sturdy standers topple over for absolutely no reason at all.

    19. No! Even though my doll is an Iplehouse EID girl who is rather massive and can stand quite well on her own, I still don't feel like it's a safe thing to leave her like this without any doll stand.

    20. I don’t. While I know they CAN stand on their own depending on how well they’re strung, a great example of issues was a listing I recently found for a doll I was dying to have. The doll had fallen, broke three of her fingers, chipped her torso, and cracked her skull plate. I was so excited when I saw her for sale and then heartbroken when I learned she was damaged. She had fallen off the top shelf of the person’s bookcase. I’m too paranoid to let them stand on their own.
