1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you trust your doll to stand?

Jul 20, 2016

    1. With any outdoor shoot at any size, or any doll larger than a YoSD indoors, my LAW is
      "Never trust a standing doll!"
The sneaky boogers WILL face plant when you least expect!

    2. I think it's super cool that a lot of BJDs can stand on their own, but I personally wouldn't want to risk not using a stand while displaying them. Earthquakes are common in my area (especially small ones) so I could see it being really easy for them to face plant onto the floor :doh I would be heartbroken if they were to be damaged.

    3. I trust most of my dolls to stand. Moreover, I like being able to pose them nicely in standing positions. Since I live in the Midwest, I do not have to worry about earthquakes shaking them. However, I cannot trust my SD boy to stand on his own because his string are so old and loose that he falls over instantly.

    4. Unlike humans, dolls can't automatically adjust their center of gravity so you have to do it for them. But once I get my DF-A Vivian in the right balance she will stand like that all day if she wants. It doesn't take a lot to get her to stand either.

    5. I trusted Mikhail, my Mirodoll Lele until just recently. With his big boots on, he stands like a rock. ...Until the one time I took him outside! Dx

    6. Oh no way. My boy will flop over silently while I'm not looking and my girl stand like a drunk girl in heels. There's no way I'd keep them in any period of time standing.

    7. I'll pose my dolls standing but I don't really trust them to do so without me nearby. Especially after my favorite boy took a heavy face plant into a chair.

    8. I definitely do not trust my doll to stand for a long period of time... Since she has elf ears I am afraid she will fall and break the tip of her ear ;-; I would die If that would happen... That is why she is always going to be sitting down!! She may need some restringing since she is a bit kicky but I still want to be on the safe side and have her sitting down lol

    9. I have them all standing on top of the dresser, but they lean slightly backwards. If they should fall, they will fall sideways and the can't really get damaged. They are just so much cooler when standing straight up, I hope I can find some good stands for them soon.

    10. I trust one of mine to stand because he stands like a rock, but I would never intentionally leave him standing. My roommates are notorious for knocking down everything they pass. But if I am in the room the he can stand all day.

    11. My small, balanced babes yes. My msd and above? No way! Not to mention that I barely stand them on the floor...

    12. It scares the bejesus out of me! I don't have any nice stands yet, so my dolls will all sit (except for one off topic doll that has a corresponding stand).

    13. My doll can't stand but I think she hasn't been restrung for 2 years (I bought her second hand)

    14. My doll stands incredibly well on her own, but I won't let her pose that way unless I'm poised to catch her. One gust of wind through the house, or one curious husky nosing her, and she'd go flying. When I'm not playing with her, she's either sitting somewhere safe or sleeping in her box.

    15. Only doll I trust to stand is my dollfie dream , my super dollfies heads are too big and heavy lol:XD:

    16. I just got my first doll, a MYOU 27cm Mina, about 3 weeks ago and she stands beautifully, but I don't trust her for a second!! I am sure she is just trying to lull me into a false sense of security so she can scare the heck out of me! Also I have two cats that have a tendency to appear out of nowhere which adds to the feeling of impending doom:kitty1:eek::kitty2

    17. My boy stands very well, I totally trust him to stand by himself. Actually he does not have stand. But my girls can't stand very well, so I always use stands for them.

    18. I trust my Tinies to stand on their own two feet, but any of my dolls over 40cm I use stands as a precaution, can't have any of my precious dolls taking a header of my shelf :thumbup

    19. I wish I could trust my dolls to stay standing, especially on my shelf, but I cannot. With my luck, they will probably topple over and brake, so I like to keep then sitting down.

    20. My ResinSoul centaur stands like a champ, but he's got four legs to do it with. xD
I had him laying on my shelf, but a few days ago stood him up just to see. It's a smooth glass shelf, but his hooves haven't slipped even a little bit.

@konstrain, my spouse has their Kid Delf in one of these. It doesn't have any padding on its arms, but they were able to set it over her waistband so it doesn't come in contact with the resin, and it could easily be modified or a sleeve could be crafted to fit over the wire.
