1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls have any non-BJD clothing?

Jul 7, 2013

    1. I used some bloomers that I took from a porcelain doll for my MSD. Ole didn't have any underwear at the time and I needed something to cover her up even though they were pretty baggy :sweat.

    2. I got a pair of maryjane style shoes from a non-bjd doll shop that my MSD girls wear. They are cute, but the detail/realism is far from the leekeworld shoes in the same style that I also have.

    3. A large portion of my dolls' wardrobes is made up of non-BJD specific clothing. My Resinsoul MSD girl has pieces from Groovy Girls plush dolls, Ty Girlz, and a Hearts4Hearts Girls doll outfit, plus some other miscellaneous pieces, not meant for BJD. My Bobobie 1/6 girl has lots of Barbie and Liv clothes, a bunch of Liv wigs, and some other homemade/non-BJD clothes. My DollnDoll yo-sd only has 3 outfits that are all technically created for BJD, and my OT Hujoo baby wears exclusively non-BJD clothes at the moment because I find it so incredibly hard to fit her! :)

    4. I have some Kelly clothes for my pukipuki, and one of my SD boys has a kilt that, oddly enough, was made to be used as a bottle cover. It's too short, but looks cute anyway.

    5. Tons. I'm a whatever fits goes doll person. I've been collecting Tonner dolls for a long time so my MSD dolls actually have quite a bit from that wardrobe they can wear. The SD girl is a bit harder because the only dolls I have in her size are 2 Lorifina's and a BFC inc dolls, but still she has options and I can sew besides. Mostly it's fitting shoes that give me problems but lately I've even started to make those too so it's not that big of a deal really.

    6. Nadeko (SD10 girl) has a Maru&Friends pajama set, it's more like capris than full length pajama pants on her but they fit and are really cute!

    7. I basically have all handmade BJD clothing from etsy but I do have many pieces from Wild Imagination and Tonner dolls.
HINT: Ellowyne Wilde clothing fits MiniFee's perfectly!!! It is still pricey though as all outfits and accessories are LE's.

    8. My tiny girl currently wears a complete outfit from a plushie. Unfortunately, as she is not really thin (like a normal child), Barbie clothing just does not fit her. My two big dolls can only wear BJD-clothing or otherwise stuff specifically tailored for them.

    9. Almost all my dolls' wardrobes that I've provide are non BJD clothing unless they came with them when I'd purchase them. I just make do with other doll/teddy clothes I can find that might fit either baggy or tight and my lousy homemade clothes (I can't sew) and my dolls goes bare feet.

    10. My 1/3 boy has a decorative Oilers T-shirt that I found at a Dollarama...it's a tiny bit too tight, but that might be because I threw it in the wash before putting it on him =P

    11. I was just thinking about this thread earlier. Alba just got a completely new outfit via a donor $5 Ty Girlz doll this evening, including a coppery peach wig. FYI, it's not the first time I've used a Ty Girlz to outfit a doll. The heads can be cut apart and made into wigs. The cloth shoes in many cases can be cut from the doll and with the addition of a little craft foam on the bottom can fit some tiny dolls. They're too small though for MSD's. We had to raid the boy's shoe bag for Alba's new orange glitter sneakers. The shoes are a bit big on her but I have very little otherwise that fits dolls with her size feet and they do match the outfit very well so it works. The clothes and makeshift wig fit her perfectly and they really suit her personality. All she needs now is some better 14mm eyes and she's set to go. Oh and the sneakers, they were $1 a pop key chains. So her whole outfit cost me about $7, grin.

    12. I have some keychain converses and Ken clothes for my MSD and there's also some accessories like bracelets and rings that I use as necklaces and belts for my SD.

    13. My two Asleep Eidolon 16 cm. girls fit into some really cool Barbie clothes. Shorts are pants for them, and skirts and long dresses and the like. The shirts can be iffy, so they're usually second-hand stuff I can try on and see if it fits right. I won't keep it if it doesn't fit right. Luckily for me, my nieces love Barbie clothes, so nothing goes to waste.

    14. My minifee chloe wears those idog earmuffs as socks! She also has a few Barbie accessories and baby doll clothes

    15. My Crobidoll T-lines have a couple pairs of pants and a jacket of unknown origins that fit them almost perfectly! I found them along some other leftover doll things from older dolls I used to own and since they fit I decided to use them.

    16. My puki steals her clothing from Kelly dolls.

    17. I was buying Barbie lots for my Pullips, but pretty much stopped when I realized that too much of it looked so cheap that I didn't want to use it. I'm the queen of cheap bargains, but the plastic shine was too much even for me on some of it. But, if it is affordable, decent and it fits, I will use it! As I get more tinies, I hope to use more of the huge stash of Pullip/Dal clothing. If I ever spend more on doll shoes than my own, please...arrange an intervention! I did get a pair of sale shoes from Luts for my SD10, but the keychain Crocs I bought fit her much better. I'm out to please myself and a nice looking bargain pleases me immensely!

    18. I have an Angelic Pretty Pullip jumperskirt that I'm going to try for my Illusion Spirit 'Spirit' and test on Unoa Light when I get her put together. IS wears closed toe Monster High shoes very cutely, especially if they are repainted. There are some clothes I'd like to try for my Unoa girls like Ellowyne, Gene or Tyler clothes, but I'm still mostly sorting everyone's style so it's slow trials but I'm happy with that. Everyone is bewigged with eyes and has at least 1 full outfit including shoes and now stockings, socks and cute or pretty underwear sets. (A must!)
I admit, I love Dollheart sets though so I'd rather buy one of those than several other repurposed outfits. Perpetual layaway, I can budget for that pretty painlessly.

    19. I bought a bear as souvenir and now my IH Nami wears his hoodie. The bear was presented. Also I bought a a key chain similar to a cap for her.

    20. Sometimes my dolls wear clothing designed for other dolls and changed to fit them. My Ai/Beyla does that - she has a random frilly doll dress bought secondhand and a Build-A-Bear set (modded to fit! it was too big originally). I've got one pair of boots that were actually designed for Käthe Kruse dolls, but in this case I also had to mod them, not the fit but their look (they were too shiny originally). Also, leather bracelets for humans can make cool belts - and even corsets! - for SD- and MSD-sized dolls. But more often my dolls wear clothing specifically designed for BJDs, either bought or made by me. It is lots of fun to discover new possibilities though!
