1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls have any non-BJD clothing?

Jul 7, 2013

    1. I have antique dolls as well as BJD, so my boys do wear some of their clothes too, and the old primitive handmade doll sweaters and (modified) lacy baby jackets look pretty cool on them.....antique doll shows are always a great source of inexpensive, interesting clothes!

    2. I have a few things. I just got the cutest set of owl pajamas for my birthday from a friend. They fit my girl Athena really well, even if the outfit was designed for a knock off American Girl type doll. Athena also fits really well into the one ball gown I have that wasn't made for bjds. I think if the clothing fits and looks okay, it doesn't need to be specifically designed for bjds. My one SOOM fairy and Volks Dollfie Dream also borrow barbie sized clothes to wear. :)

    3. Yes, my doll does not have any BJD clothing due to her size. I don't think it really matters to me as long as the outfit is cute on her and it suits her personality in my vision of who she is.

This is very true. I have a lot of antique clothing and sweaters for dolls. Its fun to mix and match and see what will fit a BJD and the price can sometimes be greatly different from an actually BJD outfit and all the cuter.

    4. Yep for sure!! Because Latidoll doesn't make clothes for their white line (besides the standard outfit from the company pictures), I have to buy Tommy clothes for him in the meantime....especially for his shoes. Most etsy shops are for lati yellow size (though a few are willing to do custom), or mostly for girls. So for now he's stuck with a pair of tommy shorts hahaha

    5. I've used Barbie clothes, teddy bear clothes, accessories from Claire's made for humans, mini-hats from etsy... Just about anything that I think would work, I'd use! :)

    6. I have bought some Azone clothes and shoes for my doll. Some of them fit them well (but not every cloth).

    7. Some of my dolls wear Barbie, Ken and Kelly clothes. If something fits and looks good, I'll use it(especially since I can't sew).

    8. My Volks SD10 wears slightly altered American Girl clothing and my MSDs wear a couple sweaters that were wine bottle covers.

    9. My tinies wear almost all non-BJD doll clothing. There"s a bit of Tiny Kitty, Barbie, Bitty Bethany & Kick-itz depending on the size of the dolls. My mini's are the same way. They have almost nothing made specifically for MSDs. I use a lot of stretchy Evangeline gowns on my busty girls & a lot of Ellowyne on the others. They even wear custom MA Cissy shoes.

As for my SDs, they have mostly clothes made for BJDs though they also use some Cissy outfits & Tonner American Model gowns. I love trying on clothes & get so happy when something unexpected works.

    10. No, I have all SDs so it's a bit harder to find non-BJD related clothes for them, but others have mentioned some things that I didn't think about so I'll keep my eyes out :)

    11. I dress my Doll Chateau spider-girl in a lot of lacy doilies. They're not "clothing" in the original sense, but they work so well with her body and aesthetic that I just can't stop myself.

    12. Since all my BJDs so far are tinies they wear a lot on non-BJD clothes. My puki puki fits in Kelly clothes, my 'big' girls wear some Barbie stuff, and my Real Puki fits in Bratz Kidz.

    13. As far as actual clothing goes (I only had accessories and one pair of shoes so far), they now have a stack of mini T-shirts I'm fairly sure are meant for either bears or decoration:

I got them for the funny prints. The dolls love them :)

Also stuffed Maggy-Leyna (friends BJD) into a porcelain doll outfit when she was staying over =P

    15. So many baby socks! I have tons of new born and premie socks that I take in for my dolls.

    16. Oh wow, those mini tees are GREAT! I have a mighty need for the 'just add coffee' one... I'll need to keep my eyes open for similar things!

    17. My doll is only wearing stuff I have made for her. After I bought her I didn't have enough money to buy her outfits so I just made her an outfit. I liked it so much that I just kept it. :3

    18. Our LittleFee has a few Ken clothes, and one of out off topic dolls can fit into barbie clothes. They have a lot of knock off barbie stuff at walmart, so she gets those sometimes.

And of course we have all the little doll hats from hobby lobby and various other accesories from around.

    19. barbie clothes, kelly clothes, vintage doll clothes, baby clothes tied tight with a ribbon, so many altered things.... shoes, accessories, and furniture too. Actually most of the things for my dolls weren't meant for them. It is way too much fun to see something and figure out the potential and how to make it work for bjd. Way too much fun.

    20. I have some barbie clothes for my Littlefee and some old baby doll/ Victorian inspired doll clothes for my msd.
