1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls have any non-BJD clothing?

Jul 7, 2013

    1. My Pukifee's wardrobe is mainly Bratz clothes right now and my YOSD can fit into several boy bratz shirts so she's got some of those xD I still haven't tried digging around in the garage to find all our old barbie stuff to see what's there that might fit them...maybe I'll do that this weekend...

    2. My SD's have a pair of doll's jeans I found at a flea market that looks like it was made for them. And the tinies have some Moxie Girlz outfits.

    3. I have always wondered if the older Madam Alexander/Cissy type clothes would fit any bjds??

    4. The new BFF (28") Barbie doll clothes fit 1/3 and thinner 70cm well. My April Story Edward has a pair of jeans, a tank top, and a sweater from that line that fit him perfectly and look adorable. :XD:
For my thinner 1/6, namely my Fantasy Doll Amber and my Soom Han and Asronn, Sparkle Girls clothes (off-brand Barbies from Walmart) fit them like a dream. I got them both full wardrobes for less than $30USD together. :danceThey're very "tween" style clothes, so they will only work for younger characters, but I imagine most 1/6 look young. Barbie stuff fits them too, but not quite as well, as Barbie things tend to be more fitted around the waist.

    5. I'm still waiting for my doll, which is of similar size as a Barbie doll or just slightly bigger. I've made some beautiful costumes for my Barbies; I guess when my BJD girl arrives she will try some of those clothes :)

    6. This is adorable and made me giggle! It never would have occurred to me to do something like this.

    7. I've found that some of the little aprons that come on holiday-themed wine bottles work well for 1/3 dolls, whereas the tiny sweaters you see work well on 1/4 dolls! This is my Souldoll Kanguk/Doll Leaves hybrid wearing the aforementioned apron. Isn't it cute?! :D I'll need to get some more Christmas wine in a few months so that my incoming 1/4 boy has ugly sweaters lol ;)

    8. My big girl Lilith can wear American Girl clothes. She has several of their outfits.

    9. Seconded! I bought a few of these as they were cheap and was pleased with the results.

My tinies can wear Barbie/Blythe clothes, slim MSDs can wear some 16" fashion doll stuff, regular MSDs and SDs I have outfitted from some porcelain dolls, etc. I do prefer to use clothing made for BJDs as it does fit better, but it's nice to know other doll clothing can work too!

    10. I have few Ellowyne Wilde clothes for my MNF and i am checking out sizes of other Tonner fashion doll clothing :) Hope they fit :P. I am getting more of Ellowyne clothes for sure!

Ahh! And that pink dress on my avatar is barbie dress, which fits m-line body perfect :P

    11. Sindri wears Ken clothes and action figure shoes- I found out after receiving some action figure clothes intended for him that my Resinsoul single-jointed girl can wear the shirt and the jacket perfectly (with some altering done at the cuffs so she can get into it without being dehandsed)! The pants are loose on him and tight on her (short also) but fit them both.

    12. Nope! Everything that I have for my girls was made specifically for them. I've had the HARDEST time in the past finding anything that would work for BJDs.

    13. I've bought some other playline doll clothing I've come across over the years, though I don't know how much of it I kept, and I don't remember the names of companies. Sometimes a Barbie piece works for a tiny of some sort, like when I had Limhwa ToYou doll. I know one of the playline doll companies was trying to push some bigger (by regular fashion doll standards) fashion dolls that had clothes that worked for some MSD dolls when I was first getting into BJD, but I'm seriously blanking on what they were called. I had a few of their fashion sets and think I still have a dress or two left. My sister also bought me an antique doll outfit that kind of works for my SD sized girl, and my Lusion has some baby clothing.

    14. Yeah! I have a ton of great 80's-90's Barbie clothes that fit my YoSD and my off-topic kitty. My favorites are a shirt with a ballerina cat on it, an ~extreme~ Ken shirt with a skateboard and fun pattern (which fits my YoSD like it was made for him), a pink croptop with a phone on it, and some sparkly star leggings! I wish Barbie clothes were that fun and relatively-well-made nowadays...I've also gotten some hat ornaments/decorations from various stores (Yankee Candle and Michael's), so they're all stocked up on winter hats. :)

I also repurpose almost everything as doll accessories - I have a spiky hairtie that I use as a weird MSD crown, and I use rings as bracelets, and necklaces and bracelets as necklaces. (I only use a necklace if I can loop the chain around a few times to make it short enough, though, and if I have a collar to hide that under.)

Edit: Here's a (terrible) old picture of Apollo in the Ken top! My friend and I christened it the "Skate or Die" shirt.

    15. Yes, particularly my YOSD size. I have a fondness for old vintage doll clothes....I love the handmade ones from the 1940s. Great prints and you can just feel the love that went into them. I have to alter them to fit but sometimes I can just belt them and they look pretty cool.

    16. I'll buy anything I think will fit somebody LOL Preemie baby t-shirts fit Iplehouse EIDs - & I bet the 0-3 months would fit the new HID size. I have this great baby jacket/hoodie - used to say Mama's Lil Rockstar - I just removed the first two words & voila! MY guy looks awesome in it. I also have a habit of buying those discarded cheap porcelain dolls from Goodwill, if I like the outfit... Often they will fit the smaller SDs or the MSDs. I found a whole stash of vintage doll clothes at an antiques mall, which fit my 1/6th scale tinies really well. I'm not sure which dolls they were for originally.
American Girl - well, the clothes rarely fit anybody, but OMG the STUFF!!!! The PROPS!!! such a dangerous store for me to enter....

      Here's Renji in his hoodie:

    17. Yes, my tiny sseiren girl has a lalaloopsie littles outfit, my impldoll gela can fit some sparkle girl stuff.

    18. My JID boy fits in American Girl tops and also has a shirt that came off an old porcelain doll at a thrift store. And my MSD girls have a sweater that came off a small teddy bear xD

    19. My MSD girl sometimes wears clothes from old porcelain dolls and she also has a phonecase hoodie ~

    20. Yes, my MSD has some Nancy shirts but I don't like them really much and are not her style at all. I had them from an actual Nancy and when my girl came and was nude it was all she had.
My Yo-SD has an outfit from a doll called Nicoletta which shirts and skirts also fits my MSD. That doll has a small variety of cute outfits but they are not very carefully sewn.
