1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls have any non-BJD clothing?

Jul 7, 2013

    1. Oh yes. Definitely. I have a ton of BJDs, but also non on topic dolls too...like obitsus, ect. I have a ton of barbie clothing, little bear clothing, Custom clothing made by etsians, and a host of other stuff for them. As far as I'm concerned if it fits, then what's it matter what "type" of clothing it is.

    2. Finally realized I have a pic on hand....Here is a pic of my Bambi Crony CB Judy in her flea market clothes. None of the clothes are made for a BJD. I can see in the photo her pants are a little too long and I'll have to fix that.

    3. I just picked up a 10 pack of Sparkle Girlz Little Friends to get clothing for my PukiPukis. It's reasonable quality for what it is, and ridiculously cheap. The sizing varies, some is a little loose in the straps but other bits fit perfectly - at that price it's definitely worth a go.

    4. The 8" Madam Alexander (Wendykin) outfits fit nicely on Fairyland's RealFee bodies -- all those little-girl dresses with gathered skirts work really well over the fantasy bunny & faun legs, but aren't too baggy on their skinny little shoulders.

My doll club friends who have SD-sized dolls sometimes find Cissy clothes that can be repurposed. Not shoes, of course, but dresses that aren't too tailored at the bust/waist.

RealFees are actually *very* versatile for those of us with lots of non-BJD clothes stashed away -- just about all of the standard 8" playdolls (Ginny, Betsy McCall, Penny Brite, even Kish Rileys). And Barbie/MA Cissette knit shirts & dresses, too.

    5. Most of Minuet's wardrobe came from porcelain dolls. I usually buy porcelain dolls and take them apart for their clothing, eyes, and wigs for future use on other dolls, or I buy clothing lots meant for them. I alter the clothing myself to fit my dolls properly. I do the same thing with Barbie clothes for my other dolls as well.

This is a dress I got from a porcelain doll for $5 from a thrift store:

    6. I used my boyfriends sock for my dolls hat..
      It looked cute! :)

    7. I actually found some old American Girl clothes and modified them to fit my doll. I also found some other doll clothes around my little sister's room that I don't know the brand to... But they fit!

    8. Carina has two "My life as" (Similar to American Girl) outfits. They're a little big but I can I take them in when I have the time. They're really good for the price (10$ each!) and you can buy them at walmart!

    9. My Iplehouse BID has some Ann Estelle dresses and shoes that fit her pretty perfectly!

    10. Yes, baby shirts, and modified baby pants for the big guys, though none of them are currently in baby clothes, it does tend to be the first outfit they wear after arriving home until I get (or make) their real outfit. I have some old cabbage patch doll clothes that I bet would fit too, but I haven't tried because they're on old cabbage patch dolls. :)

I have one boy who fits into American girl clothes. The pants are a little loose, but easy to modify.

The YoSD sometimes wears barbie/ken clothes. Barbie's clothes don't always fit, but Ken's shirts are perfect.

The only doll I haven't put into non-bjd clothes is my MSD. I haven't had anything close to her size before.

    11. No, I have all SDs so it's a bit harder to find non-BJD related clothes for them, but others have mentioned some things that I didn't think about so I'll keep my eyes out :)

    12. I have some cute antique porcelain doll clothing that I've picked up from thrift stores on my MSD. The style doesn't suit my SDs as well, since they look... weirdly short.

    13. does anyone know if the Barbie furniture such as beds and chairs fit yo-sd size. having trouble making a room for my girl for when she arrives. I want her to feel welcomed in my home.

    14. I have a lot of common doll clothes I use on my dolls. Especially the outfit my DoC H. Kirill wears is one I have taken from another doll. I found a lot of other clothes I likes to use for my dolls, but I mainly use either handcrafted clothes made for BJD's or clothes purchased from BJD firms.

My adorable An He - DoC H. Kirill (sorry for the terrible quality)

    15. I have two Hujoo Freyas that are wearing Moxie girl clothes and my Resin Soul Ni is wearing an outfit made for Blythe.

    16. I have found clothes, both sd and MSD clothes at doll shows (even if there are no bjds there) that fit pretty well. My daughter and I bought baby sleepers for her double Souldoll and my Iplehouse EID for Christmas one year that worked (a little big in the body). She got the preemie size and I got the newborn size. They were hilarious!

    17. My MSD girl has a faux fur coat I made by ripping the seams out of a coat shaped tote bag holder. I also have a few dresses from holiday angel figures. A cape may be in the works from a miniature Christmas tree skirt I bought on super clearance last January...

    18. I came across a little Team Canada hockey jersey that does fit my SD girls. I just need to find some jeans to go with it.

    19. Oh yeah, they have more non-bjd clothes than official bid clothes. Some of them aren't even real clothes, like the piece of scrap fabric strategically safety pinned to look like a dress.

    20. Some clothes from Volks Who's that girl and blythe dresses fit my tan LeekeWorld Chloe.
