Do your dolls interact? What are their relationships like?

My dolls' characters interact. I have the three siblings (Circé, Aëtës and Pasiphaë) who mostly get along but do fight sometimes. I also have another female doll (Peneloppe) for which I plan to order another doll to serve as her husband (Odysseus). And they all interact as they are all actors in the story I am writing.

 

I didn’t intend for my dolls to end up in one story/universe. Lance and Little Hela would have their world and the twins would be my modern family. But when Shitoyaka came, she just clicked with Little Hela. It like they didn’t even give me a choice .

 

There's relationships amongst almost all of my dolls; three couples, for a start, one with a child. There's the twins and their younger sister, and then there's the Asmodeys - two brothers and their younger half-sister. There's another pair of sisters as well - my two Volks girls.They're all part of the Court in one way or another, apart from Derenly - who is the resin form of my WoW RP character. He'll probably fit in amongst them somewhere eventually though.

 

They just kinda show up and declare their character and relationships!

It started with Ara, an Impldoll Avery, and with his smile and the scar on his face I knew he would be the kind of kid who got into shenanigans a lot. I nabbed Nova shortly after ordering him, and they ended up as a prince of space and his working-class best friend.

Tian Ni slotted in as his cousin on one side, and an OT doll in the same scale became his cousin on the other side, and those two are besties.

Beryl's the only not human looking one so far (Resinsoul Zhen), and she's like, an android dragon. Built for some mysterious purpose, got away and is wandering around and met up with the others. Still kind of an outsider. Very wary of people.

I've got an incoming (oh to get a tracking number...) Black Cherry Dolls Zeri, and even though I'd originally thought of Ara as an only child, nah she's his younger sister. Not sure how she gets along with everyone yet.

I'm also really hoping to get them a feral alien buddy but that depends on many factors.

 

My crew is a big tangled web, I can't have dolls with no connections at all. If you're curious:

Bren and Cooper are my main dolls. They're best friends. Adam and Nate are part of their main friendship group. Adam and Nate are also roommates. Sally and Johnny are Bren's cousins, Jamie is his brother. Charlie and Vic (unshelled as of right now) are in a band with Bren, and are long term friends of Johnny and Jamie. Opaline is in another band with Bren and Cooper. Pepper and Elsa go to college together and are also friends with Cooper. Amir is Elsa's uncle and runs a coffee shop that many of the crew visit regularly. Harriet is a close friend of Cooper's from his younger teen years. Charlotte is dating one of the other guys in Bren and Cooper's group (who belongs to my sister), and she's Pepper's friend and Sally's roommate.

 

Most of my dolls' characters interact. I dislike having a doll alone with no connection at all.
I have three universes, and they don't interact, but in each universe dolls's characters interact in a way or an other. Family, lovers, friends, comrades, ennemies... it's fun to imagine how a new doll is linked to the others.

 

My friend and I have a few dolls that are interact and have shared backgrounds, which makes for really fun photos! However, I also have some dolls with no relation that I tend to take photos of together because they're in the same size range, so why not? I definitely think you can have them be total strangers or related, and photograph them together anyway.

 

OMG yes. I have romantic couples, family groups, dance partners, friends, frennemmies.....
dolls who share story lines.

 

They all interact! I have a couple and a few friends! It's very fun trying to fit them all together

 

Nearly all of my dolls are part of the same world so they have many interactions and relationships with one another. Not every doll is related in some way to every other dolls. For example, Raleigh is Daniila's younger brother, Andy's boyfriend, and Aldric's supervisor. However, he has almost no relationship to Richard, who is Raico's creator. Taras and Erasure are married to one another, but have almost no relationship with the others because they're from two different social circles.

 

The majority of my dolls are based on characters from my book series. Some are family, some are dating or married, some are friends, and others are just acquaintances. But they all know each other by the end.

I think there's really only one on-topic doll that isn't related and he is the shell of my FFXIV character. I have a couple off-topic that aren't part of any story but since they don't have wrist joints, they don't count =P

 

If they are from the same company, I make them siblings, and if some how it jumps in my mind when two of them are sitting together that they seem to be in a relationship, I figure they might be a couple. If they look like they are having a lot of fun when I am photographing them together, then they are BFF's.

For my 1/4 dolls,I have two couples, & one pair of BFF's, & a lot of siblings.

None of my 1/3 dolls are in any romantic relationship, two of them are brothers, they are just this awesome group of friends. They will pose for romantic pictures, if I make them, I am working on a story, but none of them are actually feeling it. Maybe someday.

My Uncles are all just really good friends, and two of them are siblings, of the two siblings one is an uncle, and one the father of one of my 1/3 girls.

 

All of my dolls interact more or less in their individual circles! For example, Keiichi (Crobidoll Hobin) is a friend to Yasuo (Soom York) and Kohei (5th motif Venitu) who are the parents of Mutsuki (feeple60 Cygne) who is the childhood friend of Naoya (Mblue XiHyeon) whose father is Kentarou (mblue Laaon). Naoya is the boyfriend of Yoshiaki (Souldoll Onulharu) and friends with Haru (mblue Taeee) and his partner Yukihiko (Switch Seolrok), who is arbitrarily related to Durga (Iplehouse Leonard) through the crime he was a victim of. (Kentarou also was victim of a similarly related crime which ties back to other characters/dolls as well... you get the gist).

 

A lot of my dolls interact with one another! Some of them are siblings while others of them exist in the same world as each other. Each of my dolls has their own story and personality but I really love being able to have them interact, especially when doing a photoshoot! All of my dolls exist in the same world, but some live in the same area and whatnot so they interact more. My animal BJD's definitely interact more with the dolls since they're normally their protector/familiar

 

All of my resin BJDs live in the same world. Same time frame, same town. There is potential for all of them to know each other, but the different age groups or family groups tend to stick together. They definitely have relationships, both friendly and romantic, and are particular about what they think of each other. A few of the characters interact across several of the groups, connecting them together.

My vinyl BJDs are in a slightly different group. They don't really interact with the resin dolls. Their characters are more superficial, and they're closer in age range to each other. They're more like characters in a "slice of life" anime, where day to day things don't change, and they never get older. They don't have family members other than siblings.

I'm not picky when I photograph my dolls. I my tinies and minis have interacted amongst themselves for display and photography purposes. In terms of headcannon, I have several family groups, so they're connected in that respect.

 

Unfortunately for me is not the same . I have only one body and a lot of heads . I will have to buy and more bodies for them so they will be friends . And I really want to have and my first boy so I can have a couple . hope really soon .

 

I’ve already responded to this thread previously, and that answer is still quite valid. But it suddenly struck me that I’m perhaps more into this interacting thing than I initially thought. I have a doll currently on layaway with a preconceived character, name and style. Now, I initially considered this girl to be a unique entity unto herself (who would perhaps just hang out with others in one of my displays and build some casual relationships that way.) But the same company just released another doll (very different but in an identical size) and suddenly I saw her having a best friend to go on adventures with! I mean, it stuck in my mind so firmly, I couldn’t get past it and had to order that doll too! So I looked around at my collection and suddenly realized that they’re all pretty much paired up without me even being conscious of it! I honestly don’t know how this even happened…in most cases it was never intentional. Through years of collecting, it just sort of did. I guess subconsciously I didn’t want any of them to be lonely.

 

In my 1/4-sized group all the characters are connected in some way. It started with my first doll and grew from there. Most are friends who either live together or just like to hang out together. They live in a modern setting.

I have a Group of tinies, but only one of them is on topic and they don't have fully formed and permanent characters like the bigger dolls do. They are mostly just mannequins that gets to model and play out whatever I feel like at the moment. They do tend more towards fantasy and medieval-ish styles, but not exclusively. They don't inteact with the bigger dolls.

And then there is the troll. He is still new and he is either a big troll for the minis or a very big troll for the tinies, but there is still a lot of work to do on him so we'll see what happens. For now he is a loner.

 

My Minifee girls are besties/roommates, but my poor Link from Breath of the Wild is alone for now. I'll hopefully get him a Zelda as my next doll...
