1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Does your doll fill the void?

Mar 31, 2010

    1. I live with teddy bears and quadriped people, so I don't really have a void to fill. I do remember at one point clinging to my dolls when I was really lonely, though it was never as comforting as having a cat on my chest and a dog at my feet whilst texting friends in the wee hours of morning.

    2. For me, they somewhat fill an emotional void. Ever since my fiancé left me I've felt like something was missing (obviously, haha) and my dolls give me someone to talk to and take care of by making them miniature food out of polymer clay, and getting them presents and whatnot. My two dogs also play a big part in filling that void since they always act like they're 2 years old in matter how old they get. It's nice to feel needed. And I think my dollies and dogs love the extra attention *laughs*

    3. I've definitely considered taking my doll off my shelf and sleeping beside her because i felt crappy, but i'd be too scared to break her 'cause i move a lot in my sleep. although I did have one of my dolls down by my eyes sight once sitting on my side table, it was actually kind of nice. :)

    4. Mine don't exactly fill a void, but they make me feel safe. Even when my husband is home, I take one down to my "studio" in the basement with me-we haven't lived in this house long and the basement is huge and unfinished. It creeps me out. I work from home, so during the day I sometimes bring one to my desk with me.

    5. I don't really experience the "void" as you've described it anymore. I used to when I was younger, but I seem to have outgrown it for the time being. While I do find joy and comfort in my dolls and being surrounded by the characters they represent, it's more of an enrichment than void-spackle.
