1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Does your doll "smoke"? Why?

Jan 18, 2006

    1. I have a doll that smokes, drinks, takes drugs and gets in fights. Its her character, its her story, its part of who she is. If I took away any of these bad traits she would no longer be the same character.

The dolls we have and their stories are just that, stories. Having a doll take unhealthy or bad choices does not mean that the owner of said doll necessary agrees with any of those choices or condones it in real life.

    2. I don't have my first doll yet, but I don't think he's going to smoke. :XD: Which is funny because I smoke, and have no problem with it. I do like some pictures out there of dolls with a cigarette.

We'll see what happens when I get him, though.

    3. Mine is Sherlock Holmes and he smokes, of course:) It's a part of his personality

    4. No, he doesn't smoke. He's very... natural? That said, I wouldn't put it past him to smoke other more "natural" things on occasion... lol!

    5. No, mine doesn't smoke. From the pictures I've seen online from dolls smoking, it usually ends up being a thing that particular story character does.

    6. I smoke and since one of my dolls is used as a projection or coping mech for other things he smokes.. I'm trying to quit but since it doesn't harm him he doesn't have to haa

    7. (I didn't realize I said pretty much this exact thing already....)

    8. None of my characters smoke simply because cigarettes don't exist in their universe. One of them might end up with a long pipe at some point, I haven't quite decided. I personally find the smell of smoke bad and the smoke itself makes me cough.

    9. My character doesn't smoke - in fact he probably doesn't even know what smoking is lol. But he came as a fullset with quite fancy smoking and drink glass hands so I want to photograph him with them just because I paid for them. I guess. I myself don't like smoking mostly because most of my high school classmates who smoke are just wannabe rebellious poor little kids and I see nothing cool in that.

    10. This is a very interesting topic. I'm quite used to seeing dolls with cigs by now, so I find it curious. I have an active imvu account where my 3D avatar is almost always seen smoking. As a kid I grew up around the cigarette smoke of casinos in Nevada, so when I smell it, it reminds me of home and my grandma (who even in her 70s is an avid smoker still), and it makes me feel comforted. To me it's not so much "cool" as it is like a security blanket. Second hand smoke is horrible, but I do love the smell because it reminds me of my childhood. I don't smoke in real life and never will, but I could picture one of my more mature dolls I'm thinking about having in the future possibly smoking, or vaping, as it's a comforting scene for me. I'm aware of the health risks, which is why I'd never do it personally, but seeing the act and recalling the scent is satisfying.

    11. Humm, I smoke now and then and if I would get boy dolls they would most likely smoke.. why? I guess its something that I do find attractive.. yes I am aware that its very unhealthy but I have always found it quite handsome when men smoke. Also since my boys would be in a rock/punk band I find it more fitting for their personalities too :)

    12. Yes and no. My character only smokes when stressed or to anger her boyfriend who doesn't like it when she smokes.

    13. props~ for photo talking purpose only~ to act cool maybe

    14. I have a doll who smokes. He smokes because he is a retired professional gamer and he is used to stay up all night, something he can't do without his cigerettes.

Does this say something about me? perhaps. I don't mind smoking but I've never been a smoker myself. Yes smoking is terribly unhealthy but my doll's character is a smoker and that's how that is. He is almost always seen smoking and he argues a lot with one of my other dolls about this smoking. Unfortunately he has no interest in stopping.

    15. Sometimes my doll smokes from burning in the lower pits of hell. None of them smoke cigarettes because those things will kill you. Wait a minute.
