1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Does your doll wear shoes?

Jul 10, 2014

    1. Shoes tend to be a very low priority for me, and I don't like how oversized so many shoes are on my dolls even when they're supposed to be the right size. I sometimes feel a little guilty at how cold my dolls toes must be, since I don't like having cold toes myself. I keep meaning to make some simple slippers for them.

    2. Only my favorite one wears a adidas superstar. Others are bare footed

    3. I prefer my dolls in shoes because I feel they protect my dolls' feet and help them stand better. Part of it probably is just 'me', I have some chronic issues with my feet that mean I am supposed to never walk around bare-foot so I am always wearing shoes unless I am sitting down or going to sleep. I think this causes me to feel my dolls are more comfortable in shoes since I am.

I would say two thirds of my dolls wear shoes. I would like to have them all in shoes and have multiple pairs but the 'right-sized' shoes are often priced higher than what I want to pay, and the other shoes often look to big on my dolls' feet. I also feel that most of their outfits just look better with matching shoes than them standing just in socks or barefoot.

    4. My boy has got a pair of boots and sneakers. Boots arrived today, but I got the sneakers few days ago. He will wear them as soon as I will get over my laziness, and change his knee joints, and put back his left feet...:abambi: I am a moron, I know:sweat (and I really envy those boots from him:lol:).

    5. Well that's the beauty of having so many long dresses; I worry less about shoes than I otherwise might.

    6. Although I buy lots of shoes for my dolls, I don't like them to wear shoes in my room.

    7. I would say half and half some have shoes or boots as they fit the outfit others are barefoot. I would rather buy an outfit first shoes later but its does finish the outfit off at times

    8. My doll only wear shoes when go out, if they stay at home, I did not put shoes on them., and people should be careful that some shoes may cause damage to dolls feet, do be careful

    9. girl's aint no hobo, gotta wear some nice shoes

    10. I don't have many, but I love BJD shoes! For my dolls I felt like they were more complete with them. I hope to get another pair or two for my girls for the sake of variety(and one pair to properly match an outfit)

I'm a sucker for the tiny detailing and am in absolute awe of those who make their own doll footwear.

    11. My favorite one have very nice feets and wear something only when she go out.
And there are no choice for others, because they have no shoes. =)

    12. One of my dolls never wears shoes because he's a fox boy..so huge feet/paws for his doll size haha. For my human dolls, depends what they're wearing. Shoes are kindof expensive, so I don't have many pairs.

    13. None of my bjd’s have shoes yet. I will have to sort this out, but at the moment have been prioritising wigs and clothes.

    14. Two of my dolls wear shoes most of the time. My biggest girl doesn’t usually, because her character concept doesn’t have feet (she’s a ghost).

    15. I kinda need everything to be *complete* so it would drive me crazy if I had a doll with no shoes on haha.

    16. I love buying shoes for my dolls (especially the boys - don't know why but I love boy shoes and will happily hand over all my money if I find a pair I love) but half the time they don't even wear them xD
Blue in particular spends most of her life barefoot. I just love her cute little feet so much, it feels criminal to hide them inside shoes.

    17. Yes, of course, but sometimes is very hard to find right shoes :sigh

    18. I would like him to, but I haven't gotten around to getting him any yet. Right now he just hangs around in his sock feet, but he never leaves the house anyway so I figure it's okay.

    19. This is a very interesting question. The only doll I have that has shoes (at least for now) is my Tender Creation doll, which I ordered with shoes by the artist. The shoes don't hold super well however and are very delicate, so I only use them for pictures. I do actually prefer to see the dolls barefoot though but it goes with the style I've been giving them. I prefer to see my girls in lingerie anyway and my boys are usually naked, one of them because the only clothes I have for him are red and I'm afraid they can stain, and the other one I haven't made clothes for yet haha. I have my dolls on display but I only dress them for photoshoots really =)

    20. Most of mine that have human feet also have shoes - except for a few of my big boys, as I'm having trouble finding shoes for them.
My DZ The Fairy never wears shoes, but he has tons of them, because he fits in the same Kelly shoes as my Nono and Momo. Other than that, all my tinies have footwear (except the hooved and clawed ones).
In fact, my newest tiny had shoes ready for him before he even arrived.

I'm a BJD-shoe-addict. I don't have more than five or six pairs for myself (and that includes sneakers and sandals), but I think if I put all my BJD shoes in one place, the sheer number of them would make Imelda Marcos cry with envy. LOL!!
