Does your doll wear shoes?

Jul 10, 2014

    1. I have at least 2 pairs of shoes for each doll I own, and they wear them on the shelf, it makes them more stable imo!

    2. It depends! No shoes if they’re wearing loungewear or pajamas, shoes if they’re dressed all up.

    3. I recently have two dolls on the way and both of them don't include shoes in their outfits for some reason.
There is no way I'm gonna let this shoeless behavior slide!
I already bought some for them and they're on their way too, but no bare feet will be tolerated in this household!
Joking aside, I prefer them to wear a full outfit so they look like they have their life together (unlike me. Ha... ha...)

    4. If my dolls are going outdoors for something, they will wear shoes. It still makes me cringe at how much doll shoes cost; big reason why I don't have many of them. (Irony here, because how expensive are my dolls?)

    5. I think only two of my dolls wear shoes. One because he came with them, they help him stand better (& kinda just go with his character, he has one permanent outfit & the shoes go with that) and the other basically for one of the same reasons - stability in standing. Plus as she's a tiny, it's easy to find cute, super cheap shoes that will fit & are easy to get on&off. Other than those, none of my kiddos wear shoes as they're not a 'necessity' for me - I, as a person, only wear shoes when I absolutely have to & so I keep 99% of my dolls with the same er, aesthetic(?) vibe(?) whatever u wanna call it

    6. My doll, when she arrives, will wear shoes full time-- that is, once I can find some shoes for her that won't cost an arm and a leg, haha. I know why they're so expensive, but little doll shoes are like gold!

    7. I definitely consider shoes to be part of a completed outfit so they do always wear them when I’m taking them somewhere. Otherwise, they live in their “beds”/boxes, and I don’t wear shoes to bed, so neither do they!

I don’t find doll shoes thaaat pricey though? I mean, they are, but they’re about 1/4-1/3 of what I spend on my own shoes (I prefer to buy pricier well-made shoes every few years rather than the cheap ones that fall apart in a season) and I don’t think it’s unreasonable considering so many if them are basically made like real-life miniature shoes, complete with rubber soles and sewn lining.

    8. It depends! Some of my doll wear shoes, if I taking them outside. Some of them wear home clothes and pajamas with a socks.

    9. Shoes! I love doll shoes! I constantly think about them! :sweat I try to have enough variety that everyone has a few options to go with different outfits, thankfully most of them can share. As shoes are so hard to DIY nicely (lol at the naive me trying every now and then and supergluing my fingers together) I spend a lot of time digging through listings like mad to get the right look and size at a good price instead (there is a fragile balance, you see). Having mostly slim minis, they are a pain to find stuff for, though! Normal MSD shoes are too large, especially the cool ones made for boys and there are only so many makers that cater minifee/unoa sized feet  But once I find a nice option I feel very accomplished! I just wish there was more to choose from.

    10. Some of them share a couple of pairs, should buy more :)

    11. A few of my dolls have shoes, but they usually don't wear them unless needed for a photoshoot. My first 1/3 girl has about four pairs; my second 1/3 girl has one pair of black boots. My two SD17 boys have one pair of sneakers that they share. I already bought a pair of boots for my floating MSD head that's getting a body this spring, and my YoSD and tiny don't have shoes at all. Eventually, I will get my YoSD a pair of sneakers. For some reason, I get put off by the prices. BJD Shoes can get pretty expensive. Sometimes, it's like the price of buying yourself a pair of shoes, depending on the quality. I feel silly saying that because buying clothes for my dolls is expensive too. I often buy dresses, shirts, and bottoms for $10-$20, and the shoes are around $30 or more.

    12. A good few of mine wear shoes. My MYou Gina is wearing a pair of Rainbow High sandals at the moment, because it was the only thing that would fit, and I haven't managed to get proper shoes for her or at least one other of my 1/6 scale.

My anthro dolls don't wear shoes, but that's more that they've got unqiue feet sculpts so I prefer them not wearing shoes. Little paws on display!

    13. Nah, socks all the way. Well, sometimes they do wear shoes but honestly who cares? I like to think it's comfier for them without :XD:

    14. I'm reading this... and think that I'm quite obsess with doll shoes now lol.

Usually I store my dolls in their box, nude, when I'm not playing. But when they dressing up, unless the setting is indoor and don't need shoes, my dolls will always have many pairs for them to choose

Doll shoes is quite inexpensive where I live. I got my latest pair under $10 at a local second-hand dolly store. I have at least 30 of them now... while only having 4(+1 upcoming) dolls in active :sweat

I sold like... more than 10pairs of shoes in last 3years. (Regret some, but mostly happy, since I have too many)
Still predict that I will have around 40... In next 2-3years. There's no-way I can resist those good deal :doh

    15. Most of mine have shoes but a few of them with bigger feet like my SID and EID men don’t have because I have found those shoes quite hard to find and I am extremely picky so it has to be the right thing… *_*

    16. I like to have mine in shoes when I can, but I currently have 30 dolls, so not everyone has a dedicated pair of shoes yet. I won't store my dolls in shoes, especially without socks, because one of my first dolls had marks where his pleather shoes had disintegrated on his feet

    17. It depends on what she's wearing/the vibe. If she's wearing her sweatpants/comfy shirt, then socks only! Another outfit I usually just do some stockings as well.

    18. I prefer to keep them in shoes. I have a couple drawers of doll shoes, although I feel like my dolls tend to wear the same few pairs. My goth Minifee Ingrid pretty much only wears oversized combat boots.

    19. My personal goal is that every doll has at least a pair of shoes to wear, regardless of if they're wearing them or not.

    20. Coming back after ehhhh almost two years since my last post here? My current shoe-tuation? Enough shoes for all the dolls! (The ones who wear them, at least.) But oh man yeah it's so hard to find shoes for slim minis that aren't super big on them. Or, for some of my dolls, they don't quite fit standard MSD shoes but Minifee-size shoes are really tight on them! Most of the time I have to just suck it up and go with the big shoes; at least there's room for handknit socks in them.

I also, foolishly, got some Luts shoes for a couple odder-size dolls I have (Goblin Tales Cassie who might actually be able to get away with the other MSD shoes, and a DearSD Megu who cannot) and didn't write down the sizes. Even though they fit great. Ahh well...
