Dolkot 16cm Fairy discussion part 1

Mar 12, 2009

    1. Could someone possibly take a picture with a 27cm or similar sized doll... like a March/Isabella bobobie or PD Mini? I just got a PD mini Renee who I adore... but I think she needs a fairy friend. Tee hee hee.

    2. I'm always happy when I see this thread has new posts! :) Hooray!

I keep forgetting to post here, but I discovered that some clothes from Barbie's little sister, Kelly, are an excellent fit for Peya! (Especially the clothes made for the newer, more slender Kelly dolls.) I never would have guessed, but one day I got the inspiration to try it, and certain clothes work very well! Of course, the fit is completely different than it is on Kelly, and sometimes you have to cut out the cloth underwear from inside the clothes in order to make them fit, but it's worth it! I'll post some photos soon of my Peya modeling some different Kelly outfits.

    3. Anneke: I agree about the price, for the quality she has she could cost less.

greeniebone: Would love to see pix! :)

I almost decided to sell my Peya :(.
I find her head to small, so hard to find wigs, and the eyes just want look good :(

Im afraid Ill look for other similar sized dolls from other companies.
Still hoping Fairyland would relase one day smth like this...

    4. Azraelita, I hope you don't decide to sell your Peya! :( I agree that she is difficult to work with, but she has something magical that no other doll has, in my opinion.

Here is my Peya, Whisper, modeling a couple of Mattel Kelly outfits. I will have more photos soon!

This one makes her look a little bit like Tinker Bell, but I have to admit it looks nice on her!

This one originally had long sleeves, which were 1/2 length sleeves on Peya, and looked weird. So I cut them off, and I think it looks better now.

    5. greeniebone: OMG what stunning pictures <3 I would never have thought these are Kelly clothes!
What eyes does she have in the second pic?

Well I gonna think about it twice, now maybe I going to order new tiny Nabiyette so maybe the 2 could hang out together...

    6. Yay! More Whisper pictures! :D I'm a fan, LOL! Greeniebone, do you make the wings yourself? I was thinking of ordering some Sinyland wings if I wind up with a Peya--well, I have been wanting to buy a Peya back and forth, but I'm torn because Dolkot is so awful with their packing and shipping.

Azraelita, is Nabiyette going to be a second Peya? Or is that a tiny fairy doll that I don't know about?

    7. Emily, Whisper is just too glorious. XD

    8. Anneke:
Well actually Dolkot was not that bad with it, they shipped mine after 30days and she was packaged allright. Its only I dont like her having similar sized eyes and she looks a bit unfinished in my eyes :(. But DK dont want to release second improved mold.

No its tiny pixy from Gardenofdolls/Nabiya:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...xie-ears-*dollhouse-size-Sep-14-ends-Sep-25th
She is 14cm so even 2cm shorter then Peya, but she has bigger head 4".
I think it might work out with them two.
(Oh and she is double jointed! and come in all Bobobie glorious color choices :fangirl:)

But Im now thinking if I just should quit with tiny dolls ever :/ and focus on the big ones, till the tinys just demand their very own world and story...

    9. Thanks for the comments! :)

She has the same eyes in both photos. They are handmade glass 6mm eyes in a dark blue-grey color. I'm not crazy about them, as they were made for antique dolls and don't pick up light well (they always look muddy and weird in photos to me), but it's so difficult to find good eyes in this size, let alone to put them in Peya's head, that I will leave them for now. :sweat

I wish I could make these wings! But no, I bought her wings on eBay, and she has a new pair coming from an Etsy seller any day now.

I have some Sinyland wings for another doll of mine, and I think they would be too big for Peya. I don't think there would be room on her back for both of the magnets, and they would also be far too heavy for her, I think.

Ha ha, thanks! She sends her greetings to her cousin, Wareyu. :)

    10. greeniebone - thanks for sharing the pics. The wings look great on her and I agree with Azraelita that I would not have guessed they were Kelly clothes.

Anneke - do you have any pics of Peya next to Nenad. I always wondered how they would look.....

    11. Hmm, I don't have a Nenad or Peya to compare, but I am eagerly awaiting some comparison pictures from someone who does! :D

    12. Ok I put my girl up for sale :(
Just realized I dont do much with her...

Here one of her last pix:

    13. I've been thinking of Peya... What do you think, can the body handle some sanding down? I'd rather prefer male or gender neutral doll, but as mentioned, Dolkot won't release any more of this size (and I don't think that there even is ~20 cm adult males around?)
That size just worries me a bit, I'm so used to 60cm+ dolls that I'd probably break Peya's hands or legs accidentaly... :sweat

    14. Wow, if I had known there was such a mature looking tiny doll I probably would have ordered her instead of my Zaoll. Not disappointed with what I did but I'm much more set up for miniatures =O Now I'll need to get one for the horse I'm sculpting O.O She'd look awesome in full medieval gear on my warhorse *faints*

    15. Akito, I think you could do minimal sanding on Peya, but I don't think the body would look masculine no matter how much you sand. Just my opinion!

    16. Yeah, well in this case I was leaning more on that gender neutral (= sanding chest piece). I have to think about this.. I'd propably like to have some kind of companion with my Domuya Levi.

    17. Have you guys all checked out the new itty bitty girly Inkling? Aimee made it and, like Peya, she is a mature bodied 20cm girl! I think they would make good companions. The detail and several expressive faceplates for Inkling make her really stand out, too. It would be great to see a side-by-side of the two of them.

Here's Inkling's discussion thread for all those curious:

    18. can someone tell me wig and eye size of Peya?
      What clothes do fit her?

    19. Peya wears a size 2-3 wig, and 4mm-6mm eyes. For clothing, read through the rest of this thread--there are lots of suggestions! :)
