Oh eek... I probably should of confirmed this before I PMed my order, but...

Did you order the 7-7.5" for Crow, Amy? Is that the Spite & Malice wig size that fits his head?

Yes, I asked Elena first - she suggested the 7-7.5 because the next size down is shallower. Since Day has an unusually tall head (seriously, I've not found a fur wig other than hers that covers the whole thing) I agreed!

My Day's head was shipped back to me today. I hope he arrives shortly!

Slightly OT but since it has to do with him... I bought his cousin on a whim today. I totally wasn't expecting to get her so soon, but I was skimming the MP and saw a brand new Island Doll Amy for sale. I've never bought a second hand doll before, but I couldn't help but give her a new home.

I'll have to figure out how to remove her default face-up, though. Can I use rubbing alcohol? She is made of "environmental resin" ... which I think is French Resin. Looks like I need to do some research.

 

A high-percentage rubbing alcohol will work, but I find that Winsor & Newton brush cleaner (I've found it at Hobby Lobby, possibly at Michaels as well) works really amazingly well. I usually wipe most of it off with that on a cotton ball, then rinse well and dry and feel and look around to see if there's any left. If there is I put some on a Magic Eraser and use that until it seems clean. I did have to soak one default faceup for a few minutes in the W&N - I wouldn't leave it in for too long but a brief soak, scrub, rinse, repeat should work. I have a soft baby toothbrush I use gently on stubborn bits in crevices with the W&N.

Thanks! It was definitely sooner than expected, but... I think it was meant to be. She will look very different compared to her default promo pictures by the time I'm through with her, though! All for the better (in my opinion, anyway). My Tammy is far from innocent. She has the same head size as my Petsha (6-7") so I'm hoping they mesh well. *crosses fingers*

These dolls are like potato chips, I swear. No more new dollies until July! We'll see if I stick to that...

 

I feel bad looking at my doll with no makeup, I have to get testers to start with, but i haven't been able to find any. ><

Wanted to share my excitement with all of you.

Hmm. I actually just restrung my Day today and used the same one he came with. Unfortunately I can't tell you what size that is. I'm a huge newbie to restringing, so hopefully someone more experienced can help you.

Unfortunately Camilla has just been sitting around, as I don't have any different things for her.. so makeupless and default she stays.

 

He looks amazing! The whole group are so pretty together.

As for stringing I've only used whatever was labeled "msd" size at a doll site since I usually just throw it in when I'm ordering something else somewhere that has it. I've not restrung my Day, either, but I'd think whatever's used for MSD elsewhere should be OK.

When I was trying to attach his head his string fell down his neckhole. I had to restring his torso/legs... first time trying to restring a BJD. It was a bit of a bonding experience. At least now I'm less nervous about attempting to fix Lenneth's strings while her head is away.

A bit depressed. Something came up and I have to sell my new girl. Looks like my Day's cousin will have to wait for now. Oh well. You have to do what you have to do!

 

My Day received his sneakers and headphones in the mail today.

I also swapped his eyes out for a pair of Blue/Gray ones. Instant love. I think they really bring out his smoky look.

My Day's best friend Bradley arrived today. I think the sculpts compliment each other nicely.

Looks like they're having a good conversation! I like the height difference between the Dollzone and Dolkot boys. Not too much, but enough for some variety. I've been super-busy (still am) and haven't taken many pics lately, but here's one of Crow with his rival and distant cousin, Samuel. Sam is captain of the pirate crew, and Crow is captain of the airship crew. Sam is a Dollmore Suntan Pado.



I'm very close to being finished with all my main characters! Hopefully that will mean I actually take more photos and work on their stories, now.

 

Oh goodness, Amy. Your Pado is so handsome! I just adore his tan resin!
