1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll carriers? What do you use?

Sep 26, 2004

    1. I'm too scared to take him out the house :XD:

He's pretty new so, buying him a means of transportation is not a main priority yet :sweat

    2. Santino goes to the grocery store with us a lot since a lot of our friends at work love to see our dollies. He tends to just chill in the shopping cart or in a basket. When we had Raiko still Rose and I once went shopping with him travelling about in Rose's hood. >.O I think we're officially the most careless doll owners ever. lol It made for a cute cellphone wallpaper on Rose's phone though. XD

Rose has this huuuuuuge black bag her gradnmother gave her at Christmas. Santino gets wrapped in that and taken out on trips and to doll meets, but we did finally order a real doll carrier. Go go Luts. When we had MSD they went in this really cute red bag I picked up one day for $10, it was perfect MSD size. And the Unolas when we had them travelled about in Rose's Chococat purse.

    3. I've ended up with 3 carrying cases, one Luts which I bought early on as I wanted something safe, then 2 Iplehouse cases that came with the dolls. Before the Luts case I used a duffle bag well padded with pillows.

    4. Right now, I carry them in a soft messenger bag, or just in my arms.

Although I always have this dream that one day when I have a tiny, I'll carry him/her around in the hood of my hoodie XD

    5. I have a large Jammers plastic tackle box like container with fasteners and a sturdy handle. I lined it with the pillows the dolls come with and I place them in there in 1-2 layers depending upon who's coming with me. Keeps them safe!

When I travel, I have a midsize sports duffle bag that I line with a clean white sheet and then line with the pillows. I like this bag since it has compartments for their clothes and fits beautifully under the seat in front of me where I can keep a sharp eye on them!

    6. I always buy over sized handhags because I think they're fun. So when I got Morgan, there wan't any question on how to carry him. He just sits japanese-style in whatever bag I'm using that day and he loves it.

Some people carry they tiny dogs in their purses, I carry my dollie.

    7. I've got a Barnes & Noble tote bag with a large picture of their painte scribe logo on either side. I've painted on side to look much like a book illumination. Aislinn rides in that bag, either peeking out, or with her knees drawn up as she sits in the bottom. I don't take her out much though.

    8. Hmm, when I get my boy I will have to take him to the thrift store and see what I can find, They have a whole wall of bags ans cases and things there.

    9. My grandfather got this suitcase set thing that came with this carry-on bag that's perfect for Dopple, I just put his pillows in with him, and he's good to go. I want to reinforce the bottom, though. It has pockets and enough room for clothes. He just has to bend his legs a little to fit.

    10. For my Uyoo, i got a white purse and made a cushion and use that. It was a total of 15.00 for everything..Got to love wal-mart...

    11. I only carry them in my arms if I'm just walking across the street to visit my neighbor Moroni! For any distance further than 150 feet, they go into the carrier-bag. It takes just as much effort to stuff them into a purse as it does to lay them down neatly & buckle them into their own bag.

And for any distance further than Kellyhime's house 7 blocks away, then they also get their facebubbles & bubblewrap.

(Iplehouse included an excellently huge bag with Ilya's fullset, so I can squeeze 3 tallboys in there... It rocks. That bag is like a clown-car at meetups.)

    12. I bought an angerlregion bag from someone here on doa and four of my msd's fit in it. then i have a knitting needle bag that fits one msd and a pillow. which i've recreated for someone else in blue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/LadyFuriae/jaxcarrier.jpg
then my tiny i take in a cosmetics bag or a tiny house that ive made. (see my comission thread)
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/LadyFuriae/duckys6.jpg
but there is no reason you can't be safe and cheap. go to michaels crafts or joann fabrics or some arts and crafts store and look for the knitting needle bags, they are sometimes padded and if they arent they usually fit an msd and a pillow.
      that's really cool.

    13. Umeko is "normally" dragged around in her bag if I am going long distances, in some one else's car, or on public transportation.... or If I am being dragged somewhere afterwards (A resturant, the gym, my brother's school) But other than that I drag Umeko around in my arms!

When I get my MSD, she will only be in her case when I drag more than one doll around or have to go somewhere non-doll friendly (see above).

When I get my Yo-SD she will be in my purse, in my pocket, in the little necklace pouch i plan to make for her, or in my hand. Because she is so small I wouldn't mind bringing her into non-doll friendly places.

    14. I've got a coffin.:) At many stores and websites I've seen, they've had these coffin shaped purses and bookbags, which looked simple enough to make, so I made one big enough to carry a large doll in. Its fully padded, just need to finish covering the outside and add the back straps. It even has a mesh window so the doll peeks out the back.

      I'm just a little odd...

    15. Doll carriers or in my arms. ^^

    16. just a canvas bag at the moment. with a plastic bag on his head to keep his hair on!!!

    17. Okay, as far as I have found, there are all these threads about doll carriers, but none actually saying how you pack your dolls in said carriers.

      So... how do you do it? ^.^;

Do you pad every possible space around the doll with pillows/towels/dolls clothes?

Do you just strap your doll in and leave it at that?

How about converted bags, or bags that you use that weren't carriers until you christened them such? :3

    18. I have a trumpet bag converted into a dollie carrier ^^
I just put my boy in it. The bag has a thick foam layer on the inside so I don't see the point of padding it with pillows.

    19. I have a bag I got from Value Village that's supposed to be for croquet equipment. I'm going to use it for the first time today, but I just plan to smush 'em in there with their pillows. Knew I was saving those for something!

    20. I use my DoD carrier when I go out, and place one doll pillow on the bottom of the case. Then I put a doll, pillow, doll, pillow, doll, pillow and strap them in ^^
