Doll carriers? What do you use?

Sep 26, 2004

    1. i carry mine by hand, then when i got to to many or to heavy i got a book bag on wheels. now i'm back to carring by hand but i bring only one or 2 and they are small.

but for my one piece pukis' i actually have magnets in my luffy cosplay hat so they can ride on that. XD

    2. I carried a messenger bag in case I got tired or it got to crowded and I needed to tuck one of my boys away for safety but I ended up carrying mine the whole time you just have to keep them close to your body and make sure their shoes and wigs are on tight so they don't fall off!!

    3. For my first con after getting my June I just carried her in my arms, but it was a VERY small con and not much was going on...also not very many people noticed her. When I got my mecha angel Corvi and I took him to a doll con he was VERY popular and everyone wanted to talk to me about him and wanted to see him but I can understand, he's big and he's pretty hot lol. I cary mine in my arms and thankfully my fiance is always with me so when I get tired I hand him over. The biggest thing to keep in mind is keep that doll always by your body or with a trusted friend. There are stories on here where a doll was put down to run to the bathroom quickly and...when they came back doll was gone. so take your doll in the bathroom stall with you...well essentially never take your eyes away from them.

    4. I've brought my dolls to Conventions three times if my memory serves me right?
Every time I brought only one doll with me and I held them in my arms. Nothing bad has happened to them except for that one time Vincente's wig fell off. ^^' It would be a little bit troublesome to carry around more than one SD-sized doll, yes?

(But what do I know. I live in Finland and the cons here probably are tiny when compared to the ones in USA. :3 )

    5. Some people attach a piece of ribbon around the doll's waist and around their wrist so that if the doll is yanked out of your arms it won't go far. You could also carry your doll in front of you in a sling or pouch like a baby, which will give you free hands but also keep your doll where you can see it.

    6. My arms, usually xD

Last con, I managed to fit all but one in my big bag. They were all fine. I had to carry Norny, and he was heavier than the bag it seemed! xD

    7. Even at large cons I carry my doll in my arms. Last year for Akon I took a different doll each day. But my favorite doll to take is my Dz Yuu Noble. He is heavier but I can carry him on my shoulders like a toddler. It keeps him up and out of the way so he doesn't get bumped. I also always feel like dz's are less breakable. I worry more about most of my other dolls getting jostled. I tried taking a tiny with me, but despite being lighter they seem more awkward to carry. Hubby goes with me, but he always has his own doll to carry around. Sometimes if a friend has a booth that gives me a good place to leave the doll briefly but so far I have found it possible to do all my normal shopping ect with a doll with me. I get very overstimulated in large crowds so I have to take lots of breaks which gives me a chance to rest my arms too.

    8. I used to use this shoebox with a pillow in it, but I'm not so comfortable with my dolls shoved in there throughout the day. *_* So now I'm starting to use the pillow they came in wrapped around them, and then they sit upright in a messenger bag...I'd rather have them right at my side then rattling around in a box, but until I get a violin case *has ALWAYS been my dream!* with padding/proper carrying case, I'll just have to be more careful...

    9. As of tomorrow, I'll be using a dollmore carrier bag. Until now I've always used my girl's box, which is nice and small because she's a tiny. But soon she'll have a friend the same size as her, and I didn't want to carry around 2 boxes since there was no way they would both fit in that one box since I also keep all the clothing and extra parts in there. So my solution was a nice carrier bag :)

Haven't been to a con with a doll yet, but I would probably carry one at a time in my arms with the other one in the carrier or just simply left in my room or something.

    10. I have a piece of red mid-sized rolling luggage that does well for one, or two 60cm dolls. Can't really use the wheels if there are two inside, as I have to carry it horizontally and the wheels are for vertical use, but it's got a hard case to it so I feel better about commuting with them knowing that if someone kicks them, nothing bad's gonna happen. xD If I drove I would have less of an issue, but I don't, and people on public transit can be really rude. :|

When my collection is larger than two, I have a much bigger piece of luggage they could all stand fairly comfortably in with a bit more padding inside.

    11. I plan on getting a dollmore carrying case... but for now I just carry her everywhere in my arms... which gets a bit irritating on windy days...

I actually had to carry her around when I was stuck in the airport for a good 24 hours or so...

Apparently being a boy in a suit that is carrying a doll terrifies people.

    12. It depends on which doll I'm taking out.

1-2 MSD? I put them in a white dollmore carrier.
      1-2 SD? I use my courier bag/sidepack.
      1-2 Yo-SD? Domo-kun backpack goez!

      Puki and Mini BB just go in my pocket. <_<;;

    13. I usually only carry one doll at a time, so for an SD I'll just hold or sit him/her in a large tote bag or small rolling luggage (although I will admit to concealing Alexis in a medium brown paper shopping bag from the car to the hotel room once XD). For the MSD I have an actual carrier case, but haven't felt the need to use it yet: she's even easier than the larger dolls to carry on an arm, and she fits in my big purse for quick shade from too much sun...or from prying non-dollie-people eyes. >_>

    14. What do you carry your dolls in?

Next, with their names and types, what I use to carry my BJD outside and where they go in when I do not take them out and move them from here to there at home:

      - Model doll size - BJD Carrage Bag (Black) [Dollmore], with a Glarmor Modell Doll cushion -> Brook, Mr. Thrifty Skeleton (But sometimes I also use it to carry some stuff of my BJD).

When they are out of their bags or luggage I carry them in my arms.

    15. I *just* bought a violin case (arrived home today), up to now they've just been in their cushions in my backpak - tinies this is.

I got a 1/2 size violin case which is just about big enough for 1 MSD, or maybe two at a push. I've got a lot of customising to do to make in nice though, it's not in great condition inside ¬_¬

    16. I made her a Carrying case out of some left over Brocade fabric I had laying around (it was black with a red cherry blossom tree prints scattered around it)
It took me about a hour to make at the most.
It also has little pockets in it to hold stuff, and I'm really considering making her a suitcase out of something.
      Maybe a tiny box....

      ANYWAY!!
Sorry, I have ADD, so I get off topic easy.
Yeah. PM Me if you want a carrier thingy...... 10 dollars!!!

    17. I have a lot now, so when I go to meets they go in a suitcase...or two

    18. I have a hard viola case that I've modded myself for my girl and am in the process of modding a second viola case for my boy. I'm also thinking of getting a hard guitar case to mod as I'd be able to fit both in there as I'm thinking that two cases is gonna be awkward

    19. I use a collapsible duffel bag that I pad with some white padding material and cloth so that my girls are protected while in transit. But I am looking to get a more 'official' doll carrier in the near future.

    20. I've use a double carrier from Dollmore and a guitar coffin case. The double usually fits 2sds and 2 minis at the same time. My coffin case is specifically for m Soony/DD hybrid and Unoa(they're the only two who fit in it.)
