1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll carriers? What do you use?

Sep 26, 2004

    1. I'm trying to find a nice carrier too. But haven't found any to my liking... Though I doubt I'll go for the violin case cause it'd be too heavy...

    2. This is what I've used for the meets we have here in my town. I use it to carry my doll stash from house to car, and car to an inside meeting place. I guess it would work fairly well for outside meets too. As long as the walk is not far from my car. It is a "moses basket" type baby carrier, so pretty sturdy. I have a couple of pictures of it in action so maybe no more words are needed:

[IMG] ` I can carry a lot and a variety of things in it, including any number of large to tiny dolls. This is only useful for carrying in some place where I can unload and set up, sort of like an open top suitcase. If/when I go to a different kind of destination I would have to rethink. I have one small, funny back pack that I picked up at Good Will. Looks like the Ghost Busters machine. Has a few different compartments. It would probably be good for more of a hike and need to keep the dolls more carefully packed up.

    3. I'm still using my Monster High purse for my yo's.

I really should find a nice case/carrier. xD Once I get my new camera bag, I'll have to get/make/bum off a carrier. :P

    4. I have an Angell-Studio 1/3 bag, currently saving up for something bigger.

    5. I use a tote bag for my SDs, they fit nicely in it :3

    6. I haven't gotten mine yet, but I think it will take me a week to be able to put him down. As for transporting, I'll probably go with whatever box he comes with until I can save up for a new case for him...:D

    7. I just received a 1/3 size soft carrier from Tata's Paradise. Haven't tried it out yet, though... but I think it can fit both of my MSD boys too.

    8. I use my 1 year mid size sports bag from the company as a doll case. Fit's my MSD Perfectly and more things. As for my next doll, he's going to have to be carried around in another mid size sports bag...they are spoiled.

The only thing I need to mod is to sew a safety belt so they don't get thrown around

    9. For out in public, I haul them around in my suitcase. It's a decently sized one and I can put little chairs in there for them to sit on, though I'd really like to get a doll carrier proper for the sake of size and efficiency.

    10. as of right now I am using my metal xbox carring case to carry mine until I can get a better one

    11. For my large (SD size) dolls I can only see using the doll carriers that are made for them. I did the suitcase thing for a while but it's too obnoxious, I much prefer the BJD carriers for them.

For my smaller dolls, especially my tinies, I like to use those padded lunch bags that can be purchased at just about any Target/Walmart or the like. I use various things to wrap the dolls in and place them inside the lunch bags. Lunch bags come in so many different sizes/shapes that it's very easy to have several and they're so inexpensive as well.

I also use the hard-case cosmetics cases for my tinies; also found at Target/Walmart for great prices. I use a Caboodles case for my Elfdoll Catsies (6" dolls), they fit perfectly!

My minis (MSD size) are the most difficult for me right now, I haven't found anything convenient enough for them so I'm still using the small luggage bags & suitcases for them. But there's too much room for them to move around so I they don't get out much, I want something more secure and may have to invest in some MSD-sized BJD carry bags for them.

    12. I keep them in their "pillows" and then place them in a large purse. :)

    13. an idea for short trip carry bags for msd's... large diaper bags (pockets galore for the extras). Most msd's should at least be able to SIT in them and you should be able to get in more than one or two I'd think.

    14. I've been lucky in that two of my dolls came with travel bags. The Dollshe one is okay, and the only one big enough for Chulyen. But the Iplehouse one is really nice, with straps on the inside to strap the dolls in. They both have pillows. I can put two dolls in each-- one doll sandwiched between the pillows and one on top. I rarely carry more than that so it's perfect for me.

    15. Haha, when I bought my first bjd I ordered her with a special msd carrier from luts! single strap type. Recently I bought an awesome vintage style luggage!! It also comes with a strap so I can carry it like a over-shoulder bag~! It's perfect for carrying my dolls~

    16. I have a few 70cm + dolls, so I decided that the complimentary carrier I got from one of my early doll purchases (what I have been using for years) isn't going to cut it anymore. Went to get some fabric and zippers today and I'm making my own carrying bag. ;) Bag making is fun. :aheartbea

    17. I made my own carrier from a tutorial found right there on this board. It works really well for my two 70s. I hope it'll be large enough to hold 3 70s and and 26

    18. My dolls fits in any of my bags. I just wrap her up in bubble wrap to be extra careful. And also making sure I have nothing in my bag that will ruin her face up or eyelashes. Hence the bubble wrap. :P

    19. I'm using luts msd-sized bag, I simply love it, it protects the doll even if you have accidentally dropped it, and you can put lots of stuff in its pockets.

    20. okay I HAVE to ask... bear in mind it was 15+ years ago but I sold T-ware.... I remember when those storzalots were.... new.... and I have a pile of them myself (barbie cloths storage)... the question of the day?.... is that strap a mod YOU made? or is it part of the container?... btw... love the color, the ones that size hadn't come in colors yet even when I had stopped as a dealer; colors were still 'event' and limited and only in the half as deep ones.... i.m jealous now -_-
