Doll carriers? What do you use?

I went looking for a violin case....which the guy offered another case instead....the problem is..theres molding in all the cases...so unless i find something old or figure out a way to modify it, which i dont have alot of tools to work with. i'm not sure how to make it work, I wanted a hardcase because he'd be safe...and this is a 60cm boy....i'll just keep looking around ebay...

I'm too absent-minded to carry them in a bag, I'd swing it around or leave it somewhere. I have too many things to think about at one time.

 

If I'm staying close to home, I'll just carry Luka in my arms, but for long trips (to meet-ups or going home for the holidays) I have a SoulDoll bag that's really nice. I think I might look for a tote bag of some kind that will fit him though -- even on short trips he gets really heavy!

 

My girl is usually in the Domuya bunny bag for padding anytime she goes out of the house - if I'm bringing out my big bag, the bunny bag goes into that, if I'm travelling light, I use a tripod bag instead- cheap and light!

 

I don't carry purses or anything (my wallet goes in my back pocket, chained to my jeans), so when I take Melinda anywhere she rides on my shoulder, with one of my hands steadying her.

 

There once was a shop called 'Blokker' here in Holland... (actually there too many of them, but that's really of the point >...>) and once upon a time they sold this really handy beauty-cases ^__^ Altough it's a bit small for Mitsu... I should get a better (larger...) carrier for him... but until now it works pretty well ^^;; it's very handy, I can hang it around my shoulders, and not only Mitsu but also a lot of other stuff fits in it ^__^

 

I put Kari in a bag I got from work it was £16.99 and the perfect size. It's a ramblers rucksack, I advise people to get one, they are very secure.
It's just like a giant rucksack but long rather than bulky.

 

I started carrying Saya in a basket that i got at Michael's. one of the smaller rectangle wicker ones. i have to bend her legs a little but she fits with her platform shoes on. i added a fleece pillow in the bottom since it was all i had made up from a costume. i would like to make her a better blanket to cover her with. there is enough room for her friend Marya to sit with her also. i just started carrying her this year and she gave me a pain at the 1st convention. so i cheated and got the basket. that and maybe she won't get as dirty on her legs and bottom.

I have the most prettiest antique violin case which is prefect for my Ophelia, although, it's to big to carry around so I just use a ordinary messenger bag.

 

*laugh* I have an old violin case (I played years back) which I'm going to mod for Rooster ^^ I got the foam to line it with today! X3

 

Kiki just sits on the bottom of a messenger bag with me, if I am not carrying her. Her legs don't get squashed, nor does her face. She likes it, since she HATES getting lots of attention. In the bag, she is with me, but out of site. I occasionally take her out, of course. I usually pad it with a sweater or something. ^^

 

Hmmmnn, I'm converting an old violin case too.....Although I've found that I didn't really need any foam to line it with....I bought some lovely thick ( cheap) black velvet off Ebay,that I have used to line the case, and it will be lovely and snug for any doll to use.... ( I'll post pics when it's completely finished!)

 

My big boys share the standard White bag (two of them can fit head to toe)
Sin travels in his Iplehouse bag and sometimes shares with one or two of the obitsus,
The Obitsus travel in a gym bag I modded just for them
Suya my MSD travels sitting up in a wooden double wine bottle gift box I found at Ross and modded especially for him. I added a sponge seat and light padding with a tv.
Local trips are a hand carry thing because I want to show off my babies. Suya (MNF) goes nearly everywhere with me.

 

Right now I have Kyle in my Death Note bag ^^; I wanted to show him to my boss today (since she collects dolls and what not) because his wig finally came in~ Unfortunatly I didn't take in for account that he's actually taller than the bag ^^;;; so he's kinda sticking out and isn't very happy with me! But I'm hoping to get a better carrier by the time Ikkicon rolls around!

 

Usually I just carry my two in my arms but on my recent trip down to Atlanta they were carried in a quilt mini duffle bag that I made fleece pillows for to protect my kids. ^.^

 

If i'm only taking one out these days then i just take one of my larger hand bags and they sit in there ^^ (Amaya sits on someone's lap if she wants to come too)

I always carry Kodona in my arms. He's only been confined to a bag like....twice since he's arrived. And he goes everywhere with me. Though when he IS in a bag...I ALWAYS put his plastic face cover on him and then fold up his blankie and wrap it around his head.
