1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Carrying Bags...Buy or Make or Convert!

Jun 10, 2007

    1. Ahh these are giving me great ideas for my doll bags! Great thread *o*
      I'm definitely going to look into a diaper bag >w<;;

    2. My first carrier was from Luts. It can only fit an SD doll but I'm looking for a nice one that can actually hold 2 SDs and 1 MSD. *_*

    3. I just bought a yoga bag that zips from the side from Target. It fits both of my SDs in it (one is 63cm, the other is 60cm). It's a tight fit with a pillow but it still fits. There's also a big pocket on the side that I could put some accessories or stuff in.

I was previously using a travel bag that I bought from Borders before we closed. It fits two SDs sitting down and bent over slightly, with room enough between them to shove a pillow for protection and also to stuff some clothes or wigs or whatever between them. You might still be able to get them from the Paperchase website, or if you're actually from the UK, a Paperchase store (Do they actually have brick and mortar stores or is it just online?).

    4. I should be purchasing my first BJD, and he is going to be a BBB Apollo, on Thursday. To make a bag, I'm probably going to go with my briefcase idea, and use an old dog bed cover and the foam inside it to make a bag. I really hope it works!

    5. Bobobie...I am not sure, but don't they already come with a carrying bag?

    6. Got my bag from Releaserain for quite cheap. $34+shipping. Unfortunately a piece of the clip attached to the bag broke and I had to get a new strap from Daiso. Someone else I know uses the same bag but hers seem to be still working... Perhaps it's the way I carried it...

Ah and I just wrap a towel around the doll and uses the clip. I had big thick cushions before, but I realize I don't really need them and they made it a bit heavier.

    7. I used a Yoga bag i had found at Walmart :D
It is perfect SD size, you just need to wrap them in a blanket for protection
      and you're good to go

    8. It is the resinsoul dolls that come with the bag... And it wouldn't matter anyway, because I'm getting my doll secondhand.

I washed the foam and stuff last night, and the foam is actually really nice. AND IT FITS IN MY BRIEFCASE. It isn't heavy, which is really nice. I just don't want my doll to get broken.

    9. I have an Iplehouse bag that came with my Soori, and I use that when I take my dolls out somewhere to photograph them...it's a fabulous bag, really well made, and fits everyone but my 70 cm boy...I love it!

    10. So far for my MSD I use a large vanity bag as carrier. When I buy larger dolls I will invent something else or I will buy a carrier from Dollmore ^_^

    11. Convert--I've got so many purses already that several can easily be converted into dollie carrying cases.

    12. I usually find an alternative bag for my dorries. I bought my dorrie from Studio Equipment shop here for only $47. :D And I could say that the bag could contain 4-6 SD dolls! It's 78 x 24 x 24cm hard case stroller bag :D It has proper cushions around the interior and with safety belts inside.

The first bag I bought is also a studio bag it could fit 4 SD dolls and 2 MSD :D I also bought usagihime bag last Dollism for convenience...

    13. I have a makeup case that I use for my 27cm offtopic doll, and it works perfectly if you bend her legs up a bit - i imagine it would fit dolls of similar size! It carries her and all her clothes/wig/stuff easily, along with my other blank, but still offtopic doll too. I got it at a garage sale, and it's red with black sort of.. asian design accents. It's covered it silk too, it's really nice. (hope it's okay to mention, it's still a doll carrying bag, after all!)

    14. Converting seems like an easy way to take advantage of your readily-available storage options. An extra question, is it too big of a risk to carry a doll in a laptop bag if not converted? Even well-padded I'm afraid she'd get crunched.

    15. I've been using the old style Dollzone bag for a few years. I paid $40 for it I think. It's held up pretty well. I can fit quite a few dolls in it.

    16. .. I bought a converted bag? ... and then converted it more? XD

The bag I have is a Manfrotto tripod zip bag.
I bought it from kerby lane doll shop last thanksgiving. It belonged to, I believe AlicesFriend(is that who she is here?) who works there.
It came with little hand made doll pillows, but I ended up replacing them with the nice dollmore pillows that came with my Zaoll.

I love the bag. I can fit two SDs or an SD and a 70cm with ease.
I think I maxed it out at Two SD's, one MSDs, 1 YOSD, a 27cm, and two heads ^^;; probably unsafe and obviously ridiculously heavy, but my dolls had to travel and that was the easiest way to carry them.

bag with my derp-faced SD13 heath sitting in it:

the bag isn't padded at all, but you can get bags that are.

The bags run anywhere between 17$ (for my style bag, no padding, on compartment) to 100$+ (for high quality padded, all kinds of pockets, securing straps, etc) on ebay

forgot to mention: I also love it that it goes incognito when I'm taking dolls out in public. I always take my camera with me, and since there's the giant "MANFROTTO" down the side of the bag (which is the premier tripod company) I just look like an obnoxious serious photographer XD My photography professor just about fell out of his chair when I brought my doll to class one day and pulled it out of the bag.

    17. All three! XD

My first doll (a DoC Bee-a) came with an awesome carrier. Since I kept the DoD carrier, I made a carrier for my sister's Too. The DoD carrier is really handy, and it fits my two minis and my Obitsu.

I also have a carrier from Impldoll that came with my tiny, which fits my tiny and my two minis too.

I have what I think is a yoga mat bag that came with one of my 1/3 boys secondhand, and it fits one 1/3 doll. If I'm carrying around my whole crew (omg never again), then I stick my other two 1/3 boys in a backpack lined with the pillows they were shipped in.

    18. I have bags for carrying my Blythes but was wondering if there are any Lati Yellow sized ones out there ?

    19. I looked for a local bag maker (who makes custom bags for telescopes, tripods and DSLRs) and asked him for a carrier similar to cool-cat's carrier bags. It turned out perfect - well padded, waterproof, and fits my SD well. I also paid waaay less than ordering online. :D

@Sarah - I read somewhere that they usually store their tinies in pencil cases (with pillows probably) or small bags. :D

    20. I normally use boxes and bubble wraps to store them, where I found bags are more fragile...
