Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Carrying Bags...Buy or Make or Convert!

Jun 10, 2007

    1. When I take my dolls on short trips I generally just put them in a backpack. I only hav three MSDs so they actually fit pretty perfectly. Then I just have to be careful from then on. For longer trips, they generally go into a suitcase with other soft things. I suppose at one point I'll get a specific 'doll bag' - but what I do works fine. I think its mostly about just being careful, really.

    2. I have an actual doll carrier but I also use different, regular, ruck sacks for smaller sized ones.

    3. Glasses cases can work really well for dolls around pukipuki size.

    4. My first doll, a ResinSoul Lian, came with an awesome faux leather bag. I use it for her and a couple of the other SDs in my collection. Then there are the two really pretty ones I bought at an anime con that were hand made by a dealer. One is floral pleather like material with a zipper much like the one from ResinSoul. The other is a long padded Asian print satin affair that can be carried over the shoulder. I wish she would come back with more at the next con. I would buy more of them.

But for the MSD and smaller ones, I have a cute overnight bag my mom gave me. It is just the right length and will hold a large selection of wigs and clothing. Perfect for overnight. I think she paid $10 for it a large odds and ends place during oneof her travels.

    5. That is a cute idea. I have a couple of little cats that need a carrying case. And I have some spare glasses cases. Thanks for the idea.

    6. I was looking around in my room and found a telescope case which is perfect for my MSD size girl. It has a few pockets which I could store clothes and stuff. All I did to make it better was I added a white pillow to the bottem to add protection. Also it has straps to hold her in place. I really like it and it works great!

    7. I've never bought a bag, but I have been eyeing a few on etsy that look like coffins. I've tried to convert some bags or the like into carrying cases but they were never the right shape or size. I have just recently started making a bag inspired by the coffin cases. It's cloth and leather over a thick carboard so it won't be flimsy

    8. This reminds me I need another bag.

I have a converted violin case, and a scrapbooking tote that I'll use if I'm dragging a bunch of resin around, but for the most part I have a definite preference for company-made carriers. I can't explain why. I just do. I use my carriers as storage space for my dolls; I have them all lined up very neatly on the top shelf of my closet with everyone snugly packed away inside. I don't know what carrier I want, though...I'm highly partial to Dollmore's bags. They're loverly. I have a matched pair (and that was sheer luck!).

    9. Oh, I hadn't even thought of mentioning storage box carry cases. I've had several, many of which I use to store dolls shoes / clothes / accessories in. They're also perfectly good for carrying and storing dolls. These include the vintage suitcase / old fashioned balsa-wood and pine suitcase style ones, and dense cardboard and balsa wood hat boxes people usually use for decoupage work...plus a whole range of sizes of "treasure chests"...like these ones ...but mine have a bronze dragon-skin like pattern to them:-

    10. I convert one of the bag to carry my doll
but I will buy specific bag for them soon! :)
Because now I have 1 Junior boy but I planned to buy another Tiny Fairy around March next year, so I have to prepare for new
carrier for them that will make them feel comfort when I take them outside.

    11. I just stuff my dolls into my messenger bag.

I sort of want to buy or make a coffin carrier sometime, but I almost always want to carry at least 2 members of my crew at a time and a double-wide coffin would be mighty odd...

    12. I have to admit I've always liked the CootCat Coffin carriers and wondered what they're like for durability etc. Postage on them these days is utterly ridiculous though but I'm wondering does anyone here have one? I'd love to know how they handle.

    13. I have a 50cm long bag which is probably a travel bag or something. It fits my msd (45.5cm) inside his box (which is slightly bigger than him, obviously) and would fit another similarily sized box on top, plus little things down the sides with one pocket on the outside, a smaller pocket with a zip on the inside, and 3 other pockets w/out zips also on the inside. But I really want to get something else to put him in as the box is breaking :c

    14. Love the yoga bag idea. I will just have to figure out the padding! Thanks especially for the pictures.

    15. The photo bag is a gray idea too and has its own soft dividers.

    16. I use a weird bag I got at a thrift store... Not sure if it's supposed to be a tripod bag or a yoga bag, or what.. O.o
But it's just long enough for my big dolls. For my minis, I juuust purchased a Kipling duffel bag that's reeeally nice.
It has two sections, one for me to stuff anything I might need, the other...

Well, I can either fill the large area with clothes for a trip, and stack up to three minis in the side....
Or I can use the side for misc junk of mine, and the larger section to stack even more minis.

So it'll be the perfect travel bag for me and my dolls, and good for doll meets too, if I ever go to any. ^^

    17. I plan on buying a doll bag. Better safe then sorry!

    18. I found a yoga mat bag from Target for a very reasonable price. It's long enough for my 70cm boy and I can carry a second doll as well. It has a zipper pocket inside and I believe one on the outside too. It has worked great so far and it looks like I work out. :)

    19. I don't have one yet buy my family plans on going to the cruise so they want me to bring my dolls. So I'll h e to buy a carrying bag. I feel that I should just buy than convert or make cause that would be especially for my bids so it would be the safest choice.

    20. My RS Yao came with the RS carrying case, but it was extremely tight for her, borderline too short. So I did some research and ended up getting a padded tripod bag, with a shoulder strap, that I customized a bit. I removed the logo on the outside pocket, made a soft satin/minky blanket, satin padded hoof protectors, as well as a protective pocket for her antlers. The best thing? I got a bag that fits her perfectly and it was only $11!
