1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Carrying Bags...Buy or Make or Convert!

Jun 10, 2007

    1. At the minute I'm just using the box my doll came in, because the way Blue Fairy designed it I suppose it's meant to double up as a (bulky) carrying case having handles and all. Though I probably will buy one at a later date from Dollmore or just get a small hard case travelling bag, namely because I need something strong for plane travel eventually.

    2. I have an official brand name bag that holds one of my 70cm boys or both 45s and their tiny children. Then I found a coffin shaped "treat box" that was big enough and tough enough to hold the 45 family. It just needed a bit of padding on the inside.

    3. I purchased a nice brand name bag, to have for any doll outings. I would not rule out converting a case. I saw someone do this with a violin case, and that looked very interesting to me. โ€‹

    4. I just saw the cute suitcases on the Dollmore website. But I'm still waiting on finding a nice large suitcase to convert.

    5. I'm using a yoga mat bag along with the pillow that came with my doll as a carrier right now. I do plan on buying an actual carrying case or converting something else that can carry more dolls but, right now, the yoga bag will work. Especially since it's just the two of us so far and we don't make too many trips outdoors.

    6. I have a few converted doll bags. I've modified a viola case into a carrying case for my SuperGems (there was a tutorial here on DoA for the modification process). I've also got a case intended for telescope stands that I've done minor modifications to, which I can use to carry two dolls at a time (which is especially useful for photo shoots involving two characters). I also have a big suitcase (around 70cm tall) that I plan to eventually modify to carry all my dolls (10 SuperGems, 2 Rosette girls, and 3 Teenie Gems, plus 14 extra heads).

    7. At my local Toys R Us, I found a doll case that can fit MSDs that's usually used for like, American Girl-type dolls for 20 bucks. It even has some really nice pockets inside and cute designs :)

    8. To bring my doll to meets, I carry her in my laptop bag (without the laptop) and wrap her up in a towel.

    9. I love your idea with the bowling ball bag! When my other dolls arrive, I'm going to the thrift store to see if I can find anything to convert.
I think I'm going to flip the bag inside out, add some lining and some foam, and make sure that my dolls will fit snuggly so they're not wiggling around.

My Kid Delf fits into American Girl and the Target brand look-alike bags. His head just pushes at the top.

    10. I bought mine from coolcat and it fits both my blythe and my LTF without them getting too snuggly! I can also fit my hujoo nano rabi, but it's a bit much. I was worried about them rubbing each others body blushing off when I had all three in there. The thing I like about the ones on coolcat are that the patterns on the outside of the bags are super cute and trendy and theyre coated in like PVC or something so they're water resistant. I wouldnt dunk it in a pool though...

    11. I love the idea of converting and old fashioned case into a doll bag, I've been watching for one I can re-line and clean up ever since I ordered my first doll. Hopefully I'll find one before she arrives!

    12. I use a smaller tote bag from 31 bags at the moment. Once I find some good foam I'll pad it to keep him safe in there.

    13. Bought my first doll carry bag from Dollmore. I only carry it when I need to bring 2 or more dolls. Other times, I simply wrap the doll in plastic /face cover and she is good to go in my tote bag. I love the idea of doll cases but it is a bit on the heavy side.

    14. I just acquired a Volks carrier secondhand and OH MY GOD I AM A CONVERT. Pockets. POCKETS. ALL THE POCKETS. ALL OF THEM. There are SO many pockets in this bad boy it's incredible. It's easily big enough to hold two 1/3-size dolls with room for plenty of padding (and I'm not necessarily talking 60cm and down, either -- one of my boys is 65cm, and he fits in there with a good few cm of head room). This case is beautimous.

...and the fact that it color-coordinates with the two Dollmore bags I already own doesn't hurt.

    15. Im not not sure what to use, I have 2 LTF's and I'm thinking maybe a huge pocketbook that is soft!

    16. I use a picknick baskest i found at goodwill and decorated. i still need to add padding but it's cute.
I plan on making a suitcase for my new luts that will come months from now.

      >> But i dunno. I can make anything i set my mind to. maybe someone can post some pictures of their bags!

    17. I like the idea of having proper doll bags but the ones I have aren't great, having trouble finding good ones for my feeple 65 girls - I got one but had to reinforce it with plastic rods to stop it sagging.

    18. I'd say the bag I use is a weekend bag, don't know a better way to describe it. In length it is just short than my MSDs so they have to bend a tad but im not to bothered by that. The most dolls I've had in there is 2 MSDs and 2 YoSDs all with their own pillows that they came with. Not many pockets sadly and only has handles but i guess that keeps it closer to my body to look after them :) And it's a hello kitty design so <3 love it!

    19. I don't have a carrying case or bag but lots of BIG pocketbooks I could use for my Tinies!

      :D

    20. I use the pillow my dolls came in to carry them safely, stuffed into a bag big enough to carry them with nothing heavy on top to crush them. uwu
